Important Safety Tips

Front and Back Panel Introduction

Front Panel Description

The front panel of the PEGASUS R2R DAC features input indicators for COAX, OPT, AES, USB, and I2S. It also includes an INPUT button, a NOS button, and a power button. Sampling rate indicators display 44K1, 48K, 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X, and DSD status.

Back Panel Connections

The back panel provides the following connections:

• 1 Input Button: Selects the audio input source.
• 2 Power Button: Turns the device on or puts it into standby mode.
• 3 NOS Button: Toggles between Non-Oversampling (NOS) and Oversampling modes.
• 4 Right RCA Output: Analog audio output via RCA connector.
• 5 Right XLR Output: Balanced analog audio output via XLR connector.
• 6 Left XLR Output: Balanced analog audio output via XLR connector.
• 7 Left RCA Output: Analog audio output via RCA connector.
• 8 I2S Input: Digital audio input via HDMI LVDS connector.

Operating Instructions

Power On and Standby

Connect the power cable. Short press the middle power button to turn the DAC on (LED is off). Press the power button again to switch to standby mode (LED lights up).

Signal Input Selection

Use the INPUT button on the front panel to cycle through input modes. The LED above the selected input (COAX, OPT, AES, USB, or I2S) will illuminate.

NOS Mode

The NOS indicator light status indicates the sampling mode: OFF means oversampling, while ON means original sampling rate.

Audio Output Modes

The PEGASUS R2R DAC offers two analog audio output modes: XLR balanced output and RCA output.

Digital Audio Signal Input

The device supports five digital audio input methods: I2S, COAXIAL, OPTICAL, AES, and USB.

AC Power Input

The AC power requirement is 110-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz (Global voltage).

Driver Installation Guide

1. Visit the official MUSICIAN website and download the PEGASUS driver "MUSICIAN_UsbAudio_v4.82.0_2020-04-28_setup.exe" from the technical support section (link: www.musician-audio.com/col.jsp?id=105).
2. Connect the PEGASUS DAC to your computer using a USB cable. Turn on the device. Short press the "Input" button to select USB input mode.
3. Open the downloaded PEGASUS file. Click "setup" to begin the installation, then click "Next" repeatedly until the installation is complete and the "Finish" screen appears.
4. After installation, locate the playback device icon [speaker icon] in the computer's system tray (usually in the bottom-right corner). Click it and select "MUSICIAN USB DAC" as the default audio output device.

Driver installation is now finished.

Warranty Information

MUSICIAN products are built with strict quality control and come with a three-year warranty. Within the first 30 days of purchase, most items can be returned for refund or exchange if they meet specific conditions.

Returnable Items Standards

1. Returned items must include all original accessories, hardware, manuals, and instructions, and must be in the same "new" condition as when shipped.
2. MUSICIAN will evaluate returned items upon receipt. Refunds will not be issued for products damaged due to improper handling, misuse, or tampering.
3. If original packaging (box, foam filling, etc.) is not complete at the time of return, a 25% replenishment fee will be charged.

Important Note: Items should be transported back safely. The customer is fully responsible for the items until they are received by MUSICIAN. If you choose to replace an item, MUSICIAN will ship the replacement items free of charge.

Return Fee and Address

MUSICIAN aims to provide excellent service to all customers. Global customers can return products to the company's warehouse in China. It is essential to contact MUSICIAN before initiating any return.

1. All transportation costs associated with returns or exchanges are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.
2. Customers are advised to confirm the actual return shipping fee with their local post office before shipping. It is recommended to use the most economical postal service available.
