Hitron CODA56 Cable Modem Quick Install Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up your Hitron CODA56 Cable Modem.
Step 1: Set up the Cable Modem
For Comcast XFINITY Users Only:
Download the Xfinity app on your mobile phone to set up and activate your Internet in minutes. You can scan the QR code provided or visit xfinity.com/activate.
Proceed to Step 3 once your modem is activated. If you encounter issues, contact Comcast Xfinity at 1 (800) XFINITY (1 (800) 934-6489).
OR
For Non-Xfinity Users or Xfinity Users without a Smartphone:
- Have your Cable Internet Account number and login information (email address or username, password) ready for Step 3.
- If replacing an existing cable modem, unplug the old modem and remove it. Place the new cable modem in the same location. Otherwise, place the new modem near a coax and power outlet.
- Connect a coaxial cable from the Cable Modem to a Coax Outlet on the wall. Ensure the cable is tightly connected.
- Connect the Power Adapter to the Modem and then to a Power Outlet.
- Wait for the four LEDs to become solid Green or Blue. This may take up to 10 minutes. If the LEDs do not stabilize, check that the coax cables are tightly connected. If issues persist, contact your Internet Service Provider as your service may not be activated.
LED Status:
- Power: Green when powered on.
- Upstream: Solid Green or Blue when connected to an upstream channel.
- Downstream: Solid Green or Blue when connected to a downstream channel.
- Online: Green when connected to your Internet Service Provider.
Step 2: Configure your Modem
Activate your new cable modem by following your ISP's activation URL. You will need the CM MAC address from the label during activation.

Step 3: Connect to Your Home Network
Connect the Orange Ethernet Cable into the Orange Ethernet Port on the back of the Cable Modem. Connect the other end to the WAN Ethernet Port on your router. If you do not have a router, connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your computer.

Step 4: Test Connection
- Ensure your computer, tablet, or cell phone is turned on and connected to your router or cable modem via WiFi or Ethernet cable.
- Note: Power cycle your router before testing the connection.
- Open a web browser. Your Internet Service Provider may automatically redirect you to a special website for activation. If not, navigate to www.google.com to verify your new cable modem is set up successfully.
