Raymarine DST-800 Connection to iTC-5
DST-800 Triducer Connection
The DST-800 can be connected to the iTC-5, but additional care must be taken to ensure the screen connection is correctly wired.
When connecting a DST-800 to an iTC-5, only one screen connection is required. This must be made to the Depth terminal on the iTC-5. In this configuration, the screen on the Speed / Temp terminal must remain disconnected.
Wiring Diagram Description
The diagram depicts the internal wiring of the DST-800 Triducer and its connection points to the iTC-5. It visually separates the DEPTH/RUDDER functions (associated with terminals 1, 2, 3) from the SPEED/TEMP/WIND/COMPASS functions (associated with terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). Colored wires are shown entering the iTC-5. The diagram illustrates the screen wire connected to the DEPTH terminal, along with blue and black wires. For the SPEED/TEMP group, wires are shown connected to terminals 4 (Red), 6 (Green), 7 (White), and 8 (Brown). Terminal 5 is also within this group. The visual representation reinforces the instruction that the screen connection is only required for the Depth terminal.
Item | Cable color | Signal name |
---|---|---|
1 | Screen | 0V (shield) |
2 | Blue | Piezoceramic + |
3 | Black | Piezoceramic — |
4 | Red | Speed V+ |
Do NOT connect the screen on the Speed / Temp terminal. | ||
6 | Green | Speed (signal) |
7 | White | Temperature (signal) |
8 | Brown | Temperature 0V |
Important: Do NOT bridge or connect together the screen connections on the Depth and Speed / Temp terminals on the iTC-5.
Note: If the triducer cable is too thick to fit into the iTC-5 cable guides, strip-back the cable sleeve to expose more wire. Then make the connection and apply heat shrink to any portion of the wire that is exposed outside of the iTC-5 casing.
