Product Overview
The INKBIRD INT-12-BW is an intelligent and wireless meat thermometer designed for barbecue enthusiasts. It supports both Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 5G connectivity. It features long and short high-precision probes that can be used independently on different foods, accommodating variations in size, thickness, cooking time, and method. When connected via the app, the white probe monitors the food's internal temperature, while the black probe simultaneously monitors both the food's internal temperature and the ambient temperature of the oven, providing effortless control over your cooking.
Instructions For First Use
Warning: Before using this unit, please ensure you have read the important safety information in this manual and will strictly abide by the following warnings during use.
Quick Operating Guideline
- Press and hold the power button on the right side of the device for 3 seconds to turn it on. This device supports two connection modes: Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 5G.
- Prepare a smartphone running iOS 12 (or later) or Android 7.1 (or later). Ensure both Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled on your smartphone.
- Scan the provided QR code ([QR code for app download]) to download the INKBIRD app. Please grant the app permission to access location information.
Connecting the Device
- On the INKBIRD app's home page, click the "[plus icon]" in the upper right corner. Find the INT-12-BW and follow the app's instructions to complete the connection. The device can automatically switch between connection modes. For WiFi connection, ensure your current WiFi network is stable; otherwise, the device will revert to Bluetooth connection.
- Take out the probe and select the corresponding probe number in the app to set the desired menu and doneness level. Insert the probe into the center of the food, ensuring it is deep enough to go past the safe cooking line.
- Once the temperature reaches the target point, both the app and the thermometer will alert you simultaneously.
Note: During use, maintain a distance of no more than 6 meters (19.68 feet) between the probe and the base. Obstacles may reduce this effective range.

Operation Buttons Instruction

Power Button | Press and hold for 3 seconds to switch the device on or off. |
Function Button | Press and hold for 3 seconds to switch the buzzer on or off. During cooking: After setting the target temperature, press to display the preset temperature; it will automatically return to display the real-time temperature in 2 seconds. |
Dismiss Alarms | Press any button when the device is sounding an alarm. |
Awake In Sleep | By default, after 15 minutes of inactivity, the device enters sleep mode to save power. Press any button to wake it. The device will automatically power off if not used for an extended period. (Sleep function can be disabled or sleep time adjusted via the app.) |
Restore Factory Setting | After powering on, press and hold both the Power button and Function button for 10 seconds to restore factory settings. |
Indicator Light Introduction
Indicator | Status Description |
---|---|
Battery Level | Yellow indicator light remains on when battery level is below 30%. Red indicator light remains on when battery level is below 10%. |
Battery Charging | When the battery is low and the device is about to turn off, the red indicator light flashes until the device is off. When charging, the green indicator light flashes at a breathing rate and remains solid when fully charged. |
High Temperatures | If the ambient temperature at the base's location exceeds 55℃ (131°F), the red indicator light flashes rapidly. |
App Settings
Screen Brightness Adjustment
Navigate to the setting page in the app and use the brightness adjustment bar to set the screen brightness freely. The default setting is 80% brightness, with a recommended lowest brightness of 30%.
Device Sound Volume Adjustment
In the app's setting page, you can adjust the device's sound volume across 4 different levels.
Replace A Probe
Note: Ensure the device is connected via Bluetooth mode for probe replacement. New probes cannot be paired under WiFi connection.
- From the device's home page in the app, click on the probe area to enter probe settings. Select to remove the probe and confirm.
- Return to the device's home page and click the "[plus icon]" in the probe area to start pairing a new probe.
- Place the new, unpaired probe into the base's charging position and follow the app's instructions to begin pairing. Upon successful pairing, the app will provide a prompt, and the base screen will display the "[pairing icon]". You can then continue using the probe.

Smart Mode Switching
The device automatically identifies the current WiFi environment and assesses if the WiFi signal, quality, and availability are sufficient for consistent temperature monitoring and a stable smartphone connection. If the WiFi connection becomes unstable, the device will automatically switch to Bluetooth. This function can be disabled in the device's setting page within the app by finding the 'Smart Mode Switching' option.

Auto Sleep & Shutdown
After powering on, the device enters a low power consumption mode if left unused for 15 minutes. Press any button to resume operation. If the device is not activated within 10 minutes of entering sleep mode, it will automatically power off to conserve power.

Local Data Storage
The device can store up to 2 hours of cooking data. This data is automatically uploaded to the app once a connection is established. In the event of a brief disconnection due to operational errors, no data will be lost.
