Key Test Results Overview
The Edifier EDF100074 Multimedia Speaker was tested for compliance with FCC Part 15 Subpart C and relevant ISED Canada standards (RSS-247, RSS-Gen). All tested parameters met the specified requirements.
20 dB Bandwidth & 99% Bandwidth
The 20 dB and 99% bandwidths were measured for GFSK, π/4-DQPSK, and 8DPSK modes. The results confirmed the emissions were contained within the operational frequency band.
Maximum Peak Output Power
Conducted peak output power was measured for all three Bluetooth modes. The maximum conducted power observed was 10.65 dBm, and the maximum EIRP was 10.36 dBm, which are well within the regulatory limits (1W or 30 dBm EIRP for this band).
Carrier Frequency Separation
The separation between adjacent hopping channel carrier frequencies was measured and found to be adequate, complying with the minimum requirements based on the 20 dB bandwidth.
Number of Hopping Channels
The device utilizes 79 hopping channels across the 2402 MHz to 2480 MHz band, exceeding the minimum requirement of 15 channels for frequency hopping systems in this band.
Dwell Time
The average time of occupancy (dwell time) on any channel was measured for various packet types (DH1, DH3, DH5, etc.). All measured dwell times were within the specified limit of 0.4 seconds within a 31.6-second observation period.
Band Edge Compliance
Both conducted and radiated band edge emissions were tested at the lower (2402 MHz) and upper (2480 MHz) band edges. The results showed that emissions outside the authorized band were compliant with the limits.
RF Conducted Spurious Emissions
Conducted spurious emissions were measured. The results indicated that all emissions outside the 2400-2483.5 MHz band were at least 20 dB below the highest in-band emission level.
Radiated Emission
Radiated emissions were measured across a wide frequency range (9 kHz to 18 GHz). The EUT demonstrated compliance with the field strength limits specified in FCC Part 15.209 and RSS-Gen sections 8.9 and 8.10 for restricted bands and general limits.
Power Line Conducted Emissions
Conducted emissions on the AC power lines were measured. The results confirmed that the EUT meets the conducted emission limits as per FCC Part 15.207(a) and RSS-Gen section 8.8.
Antenna Requirements
