INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Important safety information to reduce risk of fire injury:
- Do not install within 10 feet (3 m) of a pool, spa, or fountain.
- Do not disassemble the power supply unit.
- Do not repair or tamper with the cord or plug.
- Do not submerge the transformer in water.
- Do not mount the transformer onto combustible material.
- Do not connect two or more transformers in parallel.
- Do not use the transformer with a dimmer switch.
- Plug the power supply unit directly into a GFCI outlet in a wet location.
- For low voltage outdoor landscape lighting system use only.
- The maximum output of this transformer is 300 watts. Do not overload the transformer. Ensure the total cumulative wattage of all connected 12-volt fixtures is 300 watts or less.
CAUTION: This landscape light system must be installed in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. If you encounter problems, contact a qualified electrician.
CALCULATE LIGHTING CAPACITY
The 300 Watt transformer supports up to 300 watts of light. To determine the maximum number of fixtures, add up the individual wattage of all fixtures. The total wattage must not exceed the transformer's 300-watt capacity.
INSTALLATION
1. Prepare the Cable
Carefully split the landscape cable, avoiding exposure of the copper cable. Remove 1/2 inch (12.7mm) of insulation from both cables and twist the ends.
Diagram: [Illustration showing cable preparation with 1/2 inch insulation removal and twisting]
2. Connect the cable to the Transformer
Place the transformer on a stable surface. Use a screwdriver to connect the stripped cable ends under the terminal clamping plate.
Note: Gently pull the landscape cable to verify the connection strength.
Diagram: [Illustration showing cable connection to the transformer terminals and a diagram indicating to pull gently]
3. Place Your Fixtures and Route the cable
Position your fixtures as desired. Ensure they do not exceed the transformer's 120-watt rating. Coil any excess cable after connecting the last fixture.
