Choose the Right Tray for Your Business

Consider the following questions to select the right tray for your operation:

Step 1: What Will the Tray Be Used For?

In order to choose the correct tray, first identify the correct application for the tray.

• Service Tray: Used by employees to carry items to serve to guests. Options include Non-Slip Tray or Smooth Surface Tray.
• Patron Tray: Used by customers to carry menu items. Options include Smooth Surface Tray.

Step 2: Who Will Be Using the Tray?

To determine the appropriate tray material, it is critical to identify who will be using the tray:

• Children
• Students
• Military
• Office Employees
• Wait Staff

Step 3: How Will the Tray Be Used and Washed?

Consider how the tray will be used, and whether it will endure mild or excessive use and abuse. Determine how often the trays will be washed per day:

• Extensive: Wash as often and as frequently as needed
• Normal: Wash up to 3 times per day
• Minimal: Wash once per day

Step 4: Determine the Budget per Tray

Ensure that the correct tray has been selected for the right application. Selecting a low cost tray for a heavy application is not the most cost effective option. Tray pricing varies according to the following factors:

• Material type and grade
• Tray size

Tray Testing Chart

TESTS DESCRIPTIONS

• Thermal Shock Resistance Test: Test consists on applying a radical temperature change during a short period of time to the tray by placing it into boiling water (100°C) and measuring any deformation.
• Break Resistance Test: Test consists of dropping a metal sphere from specific heights onto the tray and measuring any deformation.
• Scratch Resistance Test: Observe scratch and abrasion as result of friction between porcelain dinnerware and the tray surface.
• Abrasion Resistance Test: Test consists of moving a porcelain dish placed on tray from left to right under hand pressure and measuring any abrasion on tray surface.
• Dishwasher Safe Grading:
  
  • Extensive - Wash as often as needed.
  • Normal - Wash up to 3 times per day.
  • Minimal - Wash once per day.

Value Added Personalization

Promote your business to customers by placing custom logos, trademarks, slogans or designs on trays.

How to Order

1. Select a tray size, colour, pattern or design.
2. Provide complete and accurate, digital artwork and indicate positioning on the tray.
3. Image Requirements:
   • Digital artwork file provided for MAC or PC, created in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop.
   • Save image as jpeg, tiff, or eps file.
   • Include all fonts or convert fonts to graphics to reduce problems when artwork is checked.
   • Incorrectly exposed images loose detail in highlight or shadow and will not reproduce well.
   • For best results, Photoshop file dimensions must equal 100% of reproduction (final) size at a minimum of 300 dpi resolution.
   • An artist's fee* per hour will be charged to any order submitted without complete artwork.
   • Contact your Cambro representative for technical questions and pricing.

• Digital process provides photo quality images.
• Allows printing one or multiple colours.
• Works only on light coloured trays.
• Available on Versa Tray and Versa Lite.
• Minimum Quantity: 120 trays per size.
• Printable Area:
  • a. Screen Printing Process: The artwork can cover the total surface of the tray from one edge to the other.
  • b. Four Color Printing Process: The artwork can cover the flat surface of tray up to 1 cm from the internal tray edge.

Fiberglass Trays – Camtray® Trays

Screen printing process and four colour printing process:

• Digital Process provides photo quality images.
• Allows printing one or multiple colours.
• Works on light coloured trays.
• Available on all Camtray sizes and from USA only.
• Minimum Quantity: 120 trays per size.
• Screen Printing Process: 144 trays per size.
• Four color Printing Process: 72 trays per size.
• Printable Area: the artwork can cover the total surface of the tray from one edge to the other.

Laminated Trays – Capri and Mykonos** Trays

• Hot stamp 1 colour process. Due to the application process onto textured tray surface, white can be selected but is not recommended.
• All Fast Food tray sizes can be personalized except 1217FFH.
• Minimum Quantity: 288 trays per size.
• Printable area: Artwork cannot exceed a maximum size of 15 cm square and from USA only.

Textured Surface Trays – Fast Food Trays

Polypropylene Fast Food Trays

• Made of highly durable, long lasting polypropylene and virtually unbreakable. These trays provide good rigidity, and are attractively textured with a slip grained finish.
• [Dishwasher Safe], recommended washing of once per day for 60 seconds at normal temperature of 80°C.
• Polypropylene trays, with or without ergonomic handles, include high edging for extra stability during transport and make them very suitable for children, the disabled or the elderly.
