Product Overview
The Optyma™ Plus control unit is a refrigeration controller designed for condensing units. It features a digital display, control buttons, and various terminal connections for external wiring and communication.
Key Components:
- DI1 terminal block: External stop/start hardwired link for the controller.
- EKA Display: Digital display for status and parameters.
- RS485/MODBUS: Communication interface.
- Control Buttons: Upper, Central, and Lower buttons for navigation and selection.
The upper and lower buttons are used to navigate the menu and change values, while the central button accesses parameters and confirms selections.
Step 1: Removing the DI1 Terminal Block
This step involves safely disconnecting the DI1 terminal block, which acts as an external stop/start link for the compressor.
Action: If the condensing unit is powered up, cut off the power supply using the switch.
Action: Remove the DI1 terminal block. This is the external stop start hard wired link for the controller which will stop the compressor from running. You can access the controller by opening the hinged door of the unit and then removing two screws on the cover plate that covers the controller terminals.
Action: Power the unit back on by turning the switch.
Step 2: Settings Mode
This section describes how to enter the unit's settings mode.
Action: Press the upper button for 5 seconds. The display will show 'r05'.
Step 3: Deactivating Control Unit Functionalities
This step outlines how to deactivate the control unit.
Action: Use the upper and lower buttons to scroll through the parameters. Select parameter 'r12' and press the central button to confirm.
Action: Set the value to 0. The control unit is then deactivated. Confirm your selection using the central button.
Step 4: Selecting the Refrigerant
This step guides you through selecting the correct refrigerant for your system.
Action: Scroll through parameters and select parameter '030'. Press the central button to confirm.
Action: Enter the value corresponding to your refrigerant and confirm your selection using the central button.

Step 5: Set Condensing Unit Type
Configure settings related to the condensing unit type.
Action: Scroll through parameters and select parameter 'c33'.
Action: Set the Pump Down cut-out value. The average for R513A is 0.9 bar for scroll compressors. This value depends on the type of application and refrigerant. Confirm your selection with the central button.
For Optyma™ Plus INVERTER Units
Specific settings for INVERTER models.
Action: If you have an Optyma™ Plus INVERTER, set the evaporating pressure setting with parameter 'r23'.
Action: This parameter is based on the evaporation temperature (dew point). For example, if the evaporation temperature is -10°C, set this value to -10.
Step 6: Activating Control Unit Functionalities
This final step activates the control unit and prepares the condensing unit.
Action: Cut off the power supply using the switch.
Action: Connect the terminal block DI1.
Action: Power the unit back on via the switch.
Action: Press the upper button for 5 seconds. 'r05' will appear.
Action: Use the upper and lower buttons to scroll through the parameters. Select parameter 'r12' and press the central button to confirm.
