Take the male end of the green intake hose, point it down toward the ground, and spin the Turtledrain counter-clockwise to thread it on securely. Connect the Intake Hose to the Pump Attach the other end of the intake hose to the inlet on the gas-powered pump. Ensure all hose clamps and fittings are secure to prevent air leaks. 3. Attach the Discharge Hose Select any of the discharge (outtake) hoses included with your gas pump. Connect it to the pump outlet and position the hose so it can drain safely away from the work area. 4. Place the Turtledrain in the Ponded Area Confirm the DirtGuard is securely attached to the underside of the Turtledrain. Place the fully-connected Turtledrain in the deepest part of the pond, which is not always the center. The DirtGuard ensures a stable suction surface even on uneven terrain. 5. Prime the Pump Unscrew the priming cap and fill the pump housing with water until full. Optionally, pour water into the intake hose to help speed up suction. Make sure all fittings are airtight -- even a small leak can break siphon. 6. Pump Operation & Safety Pumps are provided via third-party vendors. Always follow the manufacturer's manual for setup, use, and maintenance. CRITICAL: The pump is not shipped with oil inside. You must add oil before first use, as directed by the manufacturer. Running the pump without oil will cause irreversible damage and is not covered under warranty. A bottle of oil is included in the pump's packaging. For Video Instructions:
