FAILURE TO READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING THIS CONTROL COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Description
The 1H11G thermostat controls line voltage valves and/or blower motors on fan coil units in heating/cooling systems. It features a system switch for manual selection of heat-off-cool, a three-speed manual fan switch, and an adjustable temperature range of 5°C to 35°C.
A terminal block is provided for connection to field wiring. The thermostat can be wired to perform the following functions:
- Thermostat cycles both fan and valve.
- Thermostat cycles fan only.
- Thermostat cycles valve only.
[Diagram Description: Figure 2 shows the thermostat's digital display, typically showing the current temperature (e.g., 23.8°C), mode selection (ON, AUTO, OFF), and fan speed indicators.]
Precautions and Warnings
General Precautions
- If in doubt about whether your wiring is millivolt, line, or low voltage, have it inspected by a qualified heating and air conditioning contractor, electrician, or someone familiar with basic electricity and wiring.
- Do not exceed the specification ratings.
- All wiring must conform to local and national electrical codes and ordinances.
- This control is a precision instrument and should be handled carefully. Rough handling or distorting components could cause the control to malfunction.

Installation
Select Thermostat Location
Proper location ensures that the thermostat will provide a comfortable home temperature. Observe the following general rules when selecting a location:
- Locate thermostat about 5 ft. (approx. 1.5 meters) above the floor.
- Install thermostat on an interior wall, not on an outside wall.
- Never expose thermostat to direct light from lamps, sun, fireplaces, or any temperature-radiating equipment.
- Avoid locations close to windows, adjoining outside walls, or doors that lead outside.
- Avoid locations close to air registers or in the direct path of air from them.
- Make sure there are no pipes or duct work in that part of the wall chosen for the thermostat location.
- Never locate thermostat in a room that is warmer or cooler than the rest of the home, such as the kitchen.
- Avoid locations with poor air circulation, such as behind doors or in closets.
Install Thermostat
Do not move the Heat/Off/Cool switch until the LCD stops flashing. Install the thermostat as follows:
- Remove the thermostat cover by pressing a screwdriver into the slot on the top of the thermostat. Remove the front cover with your hand, holding both sides of the cover.
- Remove the screw attaching the terminal block cover and remove the cover.
- Mount the base with the wire through the holes of the base and tighten the base with screws on the wall.
- Install the wires into the terminal block. To secure wires, tighten the screws on top of the terminal block. Before installing wires, check your system wiring diagram (see Figure 1). If your system is different, consult your local dealer or a professional electrician.
- Put the front cover back on the base and ensure that the hooks on the base are locked with the front cover.
- Turn on the main power switch for operation.
[Diagram Description: Figure 1 shows a typical wiring diagram illustrating terminal identification and hookup. It details connections for LINE, NEUTRAL, FAN L, FAN M, FAN H, COOL, HEAT, and terminals S1, S2, S3.]
[Diagram Description: Figure 3 shows the back plate of the thermostat base, indicating mounting screw holes and the terminal block layout for wiring connections.]
Setting & Operating
Follow these steps to set and operate the thermostat:
- Press either the ▲ or ▼ button. The LCD will show a flashing temperature with the "Heat On" symbol and the "Temperature Set" symbol.
- Press ▲ or ▼ again to set the desired temperature. Each press of ▲ increases the temperature by 1°C, and each press of ▼ decreases it by 1°C.
- After setting the desired temperature, wait for 15 seconds until the LCD stops flashing. The display will show the current room temperature, and the unit will control the heating/cooling system to maintain the preset temperature.
