Getting Started
Pairing the headset with Bluetooth® devices
⚠️ CAUTION: Danger of malfunction! The transmitted radio waves of mobile devices can impair the operation of sensitive and unprotected devices. Only use Bluetooth where it is permitted.
The headset complies with the Bluetooth 5.0 standard and supports profiles like Hands-Free Profile (HFP), Headset Profile (HSP), Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).
The headset can save up to eight paired devices. Pairing a ninth device overwrites the oldest one. You can connect to two paired devices simultaneously; connecting a new device requires disconnecting an existing one.
Connecting the headset via the dongle
To connect wirelessly to a computer, use the BTD 800 USB or BTD 800 USB-C dongle. The dongle and headset in bundles are pre-paired.
- Turn the headset on (see page 10).
- Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer.
The dongle LED flashes blue while searching and turns dimmed blue upon successful connection. If Microsoft Teams is active, the dongle connects to Teams and its LED turns purple.
To manually pair the headset and dongle: Activate pairing mode on both by pressing and holding the headset's Power button and the dongle's button until their LEDs flash blue and red alternately. The dongle will light up dimmed blue once connected.
Pairing the headset via Bluetooth with a mobile device
- Press and hold the headset's Power button for 4 seconds until the LED flashes blue and red. The headset is now in pairing mode.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and start searching for Bluetooth devices (refer to your mobile device's manual).
- Select "EPOS ADAPT 360" from the list to establish a Bluetooth connection.
The headset LED flashes blue twice when it finds a device and then turns off. To cancel pairing, press the Power button.
Installing the EPOS Connect software
The free EPOS Connect software allows configuration and updates for your headset. Download it from www.eposaudio.com/connect. Installation may require administrator rights.
For computer calls, install a softphone (VoIP Software) or consult your IT department.
Changing Audio settings for the headset – Microsoft® Windows
Windows usually sets audio devices automatically. If you experience no sound:
- Right-click the Audio icon in the system tray.
- Select "ADAPT 360" as the output speaker.
- Select "ADAPT 360" as the input microphone.
Using the Headset
⚠️ CAUTION: Hearing damage due to high volumes! Listening at high volume levels for long periods can lead to permanent hearing defects. Set the volume to a low level before putting on the headset and do not continuously expose yourself to high volumes.
Turning the headset on and connecting it
Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The headset turns on, indicated by a short blue LED flash. It automatically attempts to connect to available paired Bluetooth devices. A successful connection is indicated by the LED flashing blue twice before turning off. If the LED flashes red, no paired device was found.
ℹ️ The search function is deactivated while the audio cable is connected.
Turning the headset off
Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The LED flashes red 3 times and turns off. Volume settings are saved automatically.
Alternatively, you can charge the headset (page 19) or store it (page 20).
Adjusting and wearing the headset
For optimal sound quality and comfort:
- Position the headband over your head, with the 'R' marking on your right ear.
- Adjust the headset so your ears are comfortably covered by the ear pads, you feel even pressure, and the headband fits snugly.
Adjusting the volume
The headset has three independent volume settings:
- Call volume (during an active call).
- Audio volume (during audio streaming).
- Volume for ring tone, tones, and voice prompts (in idle mode).
Use the Volume button to increase or decrease volume. A beep or double beep indicates maximum or minimum volume. Volume can also be adjusted on the connected device.
Adjusting the headset’s microphone volume for softphones
To set the microphone volume, initiate a call on your connected device and adjust the volume within your softphone application or PC audio settings.
Muting the microphone
Press the Power button to ? mute or unmute the microphone.
Using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
The headset uses ANC technology to reduce ambient noise, optimizing speech and background sound. You can activate ANC even when the headset is disconnected from any device, provided it is turned on and sufficiently charged.
DoubleClick Activates / deactivates ANC.
Turning TalkThrough on / off
TalkThrough allows communication with colleagues without removing the headset, even with ANC on. Audio playback is paused or muted.
DoubleClick Activates / deactivates TalkThrough.
