What's in the box?

The package includes:

Battery Installation

Follow these steps to install batteries in the remote controller:

  1. Turn the Controller upside-down and open the battery cover by pulling up on the tab above the cover.
  2. Install two AAA alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Re-attach the battery cover by inserting the tabs at the bottom first, then pushing the top tab until it clicks.

Charging the Drone

⚠️ CAUTION: DO NOT OVERCHARGE THE BATTERY TO AVOID OVERHEATING AND DAMAGE TO THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY!

⚠️ NOTICE: The battery usually comes with a partial charge. It is recommended to fully discharge the battery before the first charge.

  1. Locate the charging slot below the ON/OFF switch on the Quadcopter. Carefully plug in the small end of the charging cord, ensuring the small tab below the connector is on the bottom.
  2. Connect the USB end of the Charging Cable to a computer or a smart phone charger (use standard +5 ±0.5V USB chargers).
  3. While charging, a red LED inside the USB casing will illuminate. The LED goes out when charging is complete.
  4. To prevent damage, remove the Charging Cord from the Quadcopter as soon as the charging light goes out.

ALWAYS CHARGE UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION!

Getting to know your WildFX Remote Control

The remote control allows you to operate the drone. It features:

The controller supports two modes:

Left-Handed Throttle (Mode 2/Default)

In this mode, the left stick controls throttle and yaw, and the right stick controls elevator and aileron.

Right-Handed Throttle (Mode 1)

In this mode, the right stick controls throttle and yaw, and the left stick controls elevator and aileron. To switch modes, turn the controller off, hold down the Aileron Trim button, and then turn the controller on. Release the Aileron Trim button afterward.

Getting ready for your first flight! Checklist.

Check Your Flight Environment

Always fly on a sunny, bright day with minimal wind. Avoid extreme heat or cold, as this can affect control. Ensure you have adequate space and are aware of your surroundings, keeping people and pets clear.

Pre-Flight Checklist:

Pairing your drone unit to the remote control.

Before each use, pair the drone with the controller for communication.

  1. Turn on the drone and place it on a flat surface. Its indicator lights will flash.
  2. Turn on the controller. It will beep once. Move the left-hand throttle stick (in default mode) up to the 12 o'clock position.
  3. Move the throttle stick all the way down to the 6 o'clock position. The controller's and drone's lights will stop flashing and show a steady light, indicating successful pairing.

Note: It may take up to 7 seconds for the lights to stop flashing after Step 3. You may need to re-pair the units after each flight or after turning them off.

How to Start/Stop the Motors

Starting Motors (Arming):

Once paired, push both sticks simultaneously to the 7 o'clock position [left stick] and the 5 o'clock position [right stick]. The propellers will start spinning, ready for takeoff.

Stopping Motors (Disarming):

To stop the motors (e.g., after landing), push both sticks simultaneously to the 5 o'clock position [left stick] and the 7 o'clock position [right stick] and hold them for 2 seconds. The propellers will stop spinning.

Controlling your WildFX Drone while in flight!

Taking Off:

Option 1: Auto Take-Off

With units paired and drone on a flat surface, push the Auto Take-off button. The drone should rise about 2 feet. Adjust altitude using the Throttle [left-hand] stick: push up [up arrow] to fly higher, push down [down arrow] to fly lower. Release the throttle stick to maintain current altitude.

Option 2: Manual Operation

With units paired and motors running, push the throttle stick up. Climb to an altitude of about 3-4 feet. Adjust altitude using the Throttle [left-hand] stick: push up [up arrow] to fly higher, push down [down arrow] to fly lower. Release the throttle stick to maintain current altitude.

Maneuvering:

Use the Directional [right-hand] Stick for movement: left [left arrow], right [right arrow], forward [forward arrow], and backward [backward arrow]. Keep the drone within 25 feet for optimal controller contact. Be cautious when the drone is flying towards you or others. Do not allow the drone to get too close to people or objects.

The two blue LEDs indicate the front of the drone. Pushing the directional stick forward will move the drone in the direction of its front.

To turn the drone left or right, push the Throttle Stick to the left [left arrow] or right [right arrow], respectively.

Landing:

Auto Landing: Press the (A) Auto-Landing button. This is useful for emergencies or when the drone is dangerously close to people or objects.

Manual Landing: Use the Throttle Stick (B) to slowly lower your drone. After landing, disarm the motors (refer to "How to Start/Stop the Motors").

Mode Settings & Advanced Features

Mode Settings:

Fly in one of three modes: Beginner (default), Intermediate, or Advanced.

To change modes, with the controller on, gently press the Throttle Stick straight down:

Advanced Features:

Fast Rotation (Requires Advanced Mode setting)

When the drone is at a fixed altitude, push the Throttle Stick left [left arrow] to rotate counter-clockwise, or push it right [right arrow] to rotate clockwise.

360° Flips & Rolls

Perform flips and rolls in any mode. Press the Directional Stick straight down and release it. The controller will beep once, indicating Flip-Roll Mode is on. While the controller beeps, quickly move the Directional Stick in the desired direction (right or left) for the flip or roll.

Note: Ensure sufficient space for flips/rolls and maintain a safe height of at least 3.5 feet. Flips and rolls are best performed while ascending for easier altitude maintenance.

Calibrating the Accelerometer & Trimming the Drone

Calibrating the Accelerometer:

If the drone becomes unstable or drifts, calibration can help.

  1. Place the drone on a flat surface. Turn on the drone and controller and pair them.
  2. Enter Advanced Mode by pressing the Throttle Stick and releasing it three times.
  3. Push the Throttle Stick and Directional Stick to the lowest right corner (7 o'clock position) and hold them. The indicator lights will flash for 1-2 seconds. Release the sticks. Wait until the LEDs stop flashing, indicating successful calibration.

Trimming the Drone:

Left Trim Adjustment: If the drone drifts right without input, push the left trim button to adjust.

Right Trim Adjustment: If the drone drifts left without input, push the right trim button to adjust.

How to Fly!

Ascending:

To make the drone fly higher, gradually push the left throttle stick forward [up arrow] until the desired altitude is reached.

Descending:

To make the drone fly lower, gradually pull the throttle stick backward [down arrow]. This will slow the propellers and decrease altitude.

Flight Direction:

Turning Left/Right:

General Care & Maintenance

NOT FOLLOWING THESE PRECAUTIONS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

Cautions & Notices:

Before operating your Pocket Drone for the first time, please read these notices for proper drone and battery care.

How to Maintain Your Battery

Your Drone has a removable, rechargeable battery. Follow these safety instructions:

  1. Use only the charging USB cord provided by Odyssey Toys.
  2. If the battery becomes too hot during charging, it is overcharged. Stop charging immediately, as overcharging can permanently damage the battery.
  3. After flying, the drone's battery temperature may be high. Wait 10 minutes for it to cool before recharging.
  4. Turn off both the Drone and Controller when not in use. If not flying for a while, charge the battery for about 1 hour before storing it.

Caution: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to local laws. Never leave this product unattended while charging, as this can be a fire hazard.
