ACiQ Next Gen Ducted Heat Pump System Quick Start Guide
Thank you for purchasing a Next Gen Heat Pump system from ACiQ. This system offers the benefits of a variable speed, inverter-driven heat pump condenser combined with a smart air handler featuring a variable speed blower.
Models covered: ACiQ-24-AHB/ACiQ-24-HPB, ACiQ-36-AHB/ACiQ-36-HPB, ACiQ-48-AHB/ACiQ-48-HPB, ACiQ-60-AHB/ACiQ-60-HPB.
Option 1 - Connecting the 24 Volt ACiQ Thermostat (Model T755)
This option details wiring the 24-volt ACiQ thermostat to the air handler. For this method, DIP switch SW1-1 must be turned ON. This setup utilizes S1 & S2 for communication between the air handler and condenser, requiring only an 18/2 shielded wire to be run outside. (Refer to the next page for more details).
Thermostat Wiring Diagram: 3H and 2C - With Auxiliary Heat
The diagram shows the thermostat connections (R, C, G, Y, Y1/Y2, B, W, W1, W2, E/AUX, DH) to the Air Handler Data Transfer Circuit Board terminals (CN6, CN9, CN10, CN11) and DIP switches (ON/OFF). Grey indicates an unused terminal, Green indicates a used terminal, and Diagram Grey indicates a white wire. If S4-1 DIP switch is OFF, insert a jumper. The default setting is ON.

A close-up view of the 24-volt terminal strip on the air handler is shown, highlighting used connections and skipped connections, specifically noting L and W.
IMPORTANT INSTALL INFORMATION
CAUTION: 24 Volts AC must NEVER be connected to S1 & S2. Doing so will cause irreversible damage to the outdoor communication board.
S1 & S2 MUST be connected to the designated terminals (Top Row). Do NOT connect 24 volts here.
Please verify the outdoor unit is receiving 208/240 volts to L1 & L2. L1 & L2 are on a separate terminal block.
S1 & S2 terminals are on the top row. R & C terminals are on the bottom row.
CAUTION: Power needs to be OFF BEFORE DIP SWITCH adjustments.
Non-polarity RS485 communication
The new cover will feature an updated layout. For older versions, refer to the provided reference image.
The image displays the air handler circuit board with red arrows pointing to the S1 & S2 terminals, indicating they must be connected here and not to 24 volts. Another arrow points to the L1 & L2 terminals, noting they receive 208/240 volts. A text box highlights that the board will burn out if 24 volts are connected to S1 & S2.
Two wiring scenarios are shown:
- Scenario 1: For indoor unit connection, S1 and S2 are connected to the indoor unit. DIP switch S1 is set to ON.
- Scenario 2: For 24V communication (Outdoor Unit Only Mode), S1 and S2 are connected to a 24V thermostat. DIP switch S1 is set to ON.
A critical note states: 24V must never be connected to S1 - S2. All wiring must comply with the above scenarios. Incorrect wiring will cause irreversible damage.
Option 2 - Connecting a 3rd Party 24 Volt Thermostat With Communication Wire Connected
Any 24-volt thermostat can be used. Select the appropriate profile for wiring the thermostat to the air handler. S1 & S2 must be connected at both the indoor and outdoor units. Set the system DIP switches as shown below.
Thermostat Connection (Select One)
Several wiring diagrams are provided for different thermostat configurations:
- Wiring for 1H and 1C Thermostat - When Thermostat Has No O/B
- Wiring for 1H and 1C Thermostat - When Thermostat Has O/B
- Wiring for 2H and 1C Thermostat - Heat Pump With Electric Auxiliary
- Wiring for 2H and 2C - No Auxiliary Heat
- Wiring for 3H and 1C - Two Stage Auxiliary Heat
- Wiring for 3H and 2C - With Auxiliary Heat
- Wiring for 4H and 2C - Recommended Method
Each diagram illustrates the connections from the thermostat terminals (R, C, L, G, Y1, Y2, B, W, W1, W2, E/AUX, DH) to the Air Handler Data Transfer Circuit Board terminals (CN6, CN9, CN10, CN11) and DIP switches. Terminal key: Grey = Unused Terminal, Green = Used Terminal, Diagram Grey = White Wire.
DIP Switch Settings are also provided for these configurations.
Option 3 - Wiring Diagram When Using Provided Communicating Thermostat
Using the provided communicating thermostat ensures maximum efficiency, but it prioritizes efficiency over comfort, potentially leading to longer run times. For conventional control, refer to Option #1.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Communication wire connected to S1 & S2 MUST be 18/2 AWG shielded cable. Failure to use specified wire can result in communication errors.
- The drain wire must be grounded at one end ONLY. The shield foil and conductor MUST be trimmed back and insulated at the other end. DO NOT ground the shield at both ends. Failure to follow this procedure can result in communication errors.
- Communication wire must be run a minimum of 18 inches away from any line voltage wires. Failure to follow this procedure can result in communication errors.

Air Handler DIP Switch Guide
IMPORTANT: In order for changes to take effect, power must be OFF BEFORE DIP switch changes.
The default setting is OFF for all switches except S4. If using the provided ACiQ thermostat, DIP switch settings do not need adjustment. DIP switch settings should only be adjusted by a professional HVAC service technician. This quick start guide specifies the DIP switches that need adjustment for accurate operation based on the chosen setup. For Option 1, no adjustments are needed. For Option 2, refer to the DIP Switch diagram for correct positions.
