Other key operations are described in the "Calculation Examples" section.
Display Indicators
- ' : Thousands separator (apostrophe)
- [GT] : Grand Total memory indicator
- [M] : Independent memory indicator
- [E] : Error indicator
- [-] : Negative value indicator
- [K] : Constant calculation indicator
- +-*/ : Arithmetic operation indicators
Error Correction During Input
- To clear the value you just entered, press the [C] key.
- To shift the displayed value digit by digit, press the [→] key until you reach the digit you want to re-enter.
- If you press the wrong arithmetic operation key (+, -, ×, ÷), simply press the correct operation key before entering the next value.
Clearing Display and Memory
- To clear the calculator's display and memory (except independent memory), press the [AC] key.
- To clear only the independent memory, press the [M] key twice.
Error Indicator
If the error indicator [E] appears on the display, press the [C] key to clear it and continue calculations. You can also press the [AC] key to clear the entire calculation formula.
Power Source
This calculator features a dual power system, using both a solar cell and an LR54 button cell battery. Unlike calculators with only solar power, you can use this calculator in virtually any lighting condition where you can read the display.
Battery Replacement
Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself. For replacement, contact an authorized CASIO dealer or a specialized service center.
If the display becomes dim and difficult to read, or if the display remains blank after pressing a key (especially in low light), the battery may need replacement.
Caution: If a completely discharged battery is left in the battery compartment, it may leak and damage the calculator.
Automatic Power Off
This calculator does not have a power switch. Instead, the power automatically turns off approximately six minutes after the last key operation. To turn the power back on, simply press any key. Even if the automatic power off function clears values stored in the calculator's memory, the content of the independent memory is retained.

Calculation Examples
Basic Calculations
Example: 53 + 123 - 63 = 113
Example: 963 × (23 - 56) = -31779
Note: The [GT] indicator appears on the display after pressing the [=] key, indicating that a value is stored in the Grand Total memory. This indicator is omitted in the description of other examples in this manual.
Square Root Calculation
Example: √3 × 5 = 8.660254037844
Percentage Calculations
Operation | Example | Result |
---|---|---|
Percentage (%) | 1500 × 10% | 150 |
Markup | 1000 × 15% | 1150 |
Discount | 500 × 20% | 400 |
Percentage Difference | 75 ÷ 250% | 30 |
Percentage Change | 100 → 80% | 25 |
Calculation based on Markup (Profit) | 480 + 25% markup on 480 | 600 (Profit: 120) |
Calculations with Constants
Example: 12 + 23 = 35 (then 45 + 23 = 68)
Example: 45 + 23 = 68 (then 78 + 23 = 101)
Example: 7 - 5.6 = 1.4 (then 2 - 5.6 = -3.6)
Example: 2.3 × 12 = 27.6 (then 4.5 × 12 = 54)
Example: 4.5 × 12 = 54 (then 9.6 × 45 = 432)
Example: 78 + 9.6 = 87.6 (then 78 × 9.6 = 748.8)
Note: The [K] indicator appears on the display when a constant is set.
Rounding Examples
