Sony Quick Start Guide
For SA-NS310 and SA-NS410 Network Speakers
1 Turn on Your Speaker
When the AC adaptor is connected to the speaker and the AC outlet, the speaker will turn on automatically, and the I/ (ON/Standby) indicator will light up in green.
For the SA-NS410 model, the AC IN port and the NETWORK STANDBY/STANDBY switch are located on the rear. For the SA-NS310 model, the DC IN port and the NETWORK STANDBY/STANDBY switch are located on the bottom.
Set the NETWORK STANDBY/STANDBY switch to NETWORK STANDBY if you intend to use the speaker via a home network.
Tip: It may take a while for the speaker to turn on. During startup, the I/ (ON/Standby) indicator will flash. If the I/ (ON/Standby) indicator is lit in red, press the I/ (ON/Standby) button.
Keep your wireless network's SSID (Wireless Network Name) and Security Key (WEP, WPA key, or password) readily available.
2 Set up Your Speaker (Wireless network connection)
Choose the device you wish to use for setting up the speaker:
- iPhone/iPod touch/iPad
- Android device
- Windows PC
- Mac
For iPhone/iPod touch/iPad
1. Download and launch the "NS Setup" application from the App Store.
2. When setting up, go to your device's [Settings] > [Wi-Fi Networks] and select [Sony_Wireless_Audio_Setup]. If "Sony_Wireless_Audio_Setup" does not appear, wait for the speaker to finish turning on. If it still does not appear, reset the speaker (refer to the operating instructions).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. When setup is complete, press the "Play test sound" button to confirm the speaker's operation by playing a test sound.
Note: A wireless LAN connection is required for setup.
For Android device
1. Download and launch the "NS Setup" application from Google Play.
2. When setting up, go to your device's [Settings] > [Wi-Fi Networks] and select [Sony_Wireless_Audio_Setup]. If "Sony_Wireless_Audio_Setup" does not appear, wait for the speaker to finish turning on. If it still does not appear, reset the speaker (refer to the operating instructions).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. When setup is complete, press the "Play test sound" button to confirm the speaker's operation by playing a test sound.
Note: A wireless LAN connection is required for setup.
For Windows PC
1. Load the supplied CD-ROM into your PC's CD-ROM drive.
2. If the program does not start automatically, double-click on "NS_Setup.exe" on the CD-ROM.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. When setup is complete, press the "Play test sound" button to confirm the speaker's operation by playing a test sound.
Tip: For manual setting methods, refer to "Option 3: Manual setting method using an Access Point Scan (for PC/Mac)" in the supplied Operating Instructions.
For Mac
1. Load the supplied CD-ROM into your Mac's CD-ROM drive.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. When setup is complete, press the "Play test sound" button to confirm the speaker's operation by playing a test sound.
Tip: For manual setting methods, refer to "Option 3: Manual setting method using an Access Point Scan (for PC/Mac)" in the supplied Operating Instructions.
Setup is required only once for each speaker.
Once setup is completed, you can enjoy all features of the Network Speaker and control playback from other devices on the same network, regardless of the setup device used.
3 Play Music!
Choose how you want to listen to music:
Music on an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad
1. Launch the "Music" application.
2. Tap and select your speaker: [SA-NS410] or [SA-NS310].
Internet music streaming using an Android device/iPhone/iPod touch/iPad
1. Download and launch the "Network Audio Remote" application.
2. Select your desired Internet music streaming service (e.g., navigate through [Music Services] > [Music Unlimited] > [Genre]).
Note: A wireless LAN connection is required for this feature.
Music on a Windows PC (including iTunes music)
For Windows Media Player users: Refer to "Listening to Audio Content Over Your Home Network" in the supplied Operating Instructions.
iTunes music on a Mac
1. Launch the "iTunes" application.
2. Click and select your speaker: [SA-NS410] or [SA-NS310].

Software Update and Reset
To update the software
When a new software update is available, the UPDATE indicator will light green while the unit is connected to the internet. To install the update, press and hold the UPDATE button until the illumination turns off.
To reset the speaker
You can reset the speaker to its previously registered settings or information. Press the ALL RESET button located on the bottom of the unit using a pointed object (like a small pin) until all indicators light up.
