Chicco MyFit Child Restraint: Softgoods Removal and Installation

This guide provides instructions for removing and installing the softgoods on your Chicco MyFit Child Restraint. Please read these instructions carefully and refer to your User Guide for complete information. If you have any questions, contact Elfe Juvenile Products at 1-800-667-8184.

Important Safety Warnings

WARNING: Avoid serious injury or death to your child. Never use your MyFit Child Restraint without the softgoods in place. Ensure you understand these instructions and those in the User Guide before proceeding. If you are unsure, do not attempt to remove or install softgoods and call Elfe Juvenile Products immediately.

Softgoods Removal

Harness Removal: Completely loosen the harness by pressing the Harness Release Button on the front of the Child Restraint and pulling out both Harness Straps. Unbuckle the Chest Clip and Harness Buckle.
Shoulder Pads: Unhook the hook and loop tab and remove both Shoulder Pads.
Crotch Strap Pad: Push the fabric tab through the slot on the BACK of the Harness Buckle. Pull the tab out of the FRONT and remove the Crotch Strap Pad.
Cup Holders: Press the orange button on the bottom edge of each Cup Holder and lift up to remove.
Seat Fabric: Thread the Crotch Strap down through the fabric and pull the fabric up around the front and sides of the seat. Pull the fabric around the Harness Adjuster Strap Cover. The plastic Harness Adjuster Strap Cover is not removable.
Headrest Fabric: With the Headrest in the highest position, locate the elastic strap on the BACK of the Headrest. Unhook it by pulling up on the fabric tab. Repeat for the other elastic strap.
Headrest Fabric (cont.): Pull back gently on both plastic tabs at the top of the Headrest and pull up on the Headrest fabric. Remove the Headrest Fabric Pad. Be careful not to damage the foam insert.
Armrest Fabric: Unhook the Armrest fabric loop from the side hook near the vehicle belt path. Repeat for the other side. Undo the snap attaching the Armrest Fabric to the Backrest Seat Pad. Remove the Armrest Fabric. Repeat for the other armrest.
Elastic Straps: Unhook both elastic straps on the back of the Child Restraint. Gently pull the fabric out from the groove around the Child Restraint. Repeat for the other side. Unhook the elastic strap from the side hook and the top hook near the vehicle belt path. Repeat for the other side.
Backrest Seat Pad: Remove the Backrest Seat Pad from the Child Restraint. Never use the Child Restraint without the Seat Pad.

Crotch Strap Removal

Preparation: Fully recline the seat to position 1. Turn the Child Restraint over and locate the crotch strap metal bar.
Removal: Turn the metal bar slightly and get a corner to go through the slot. Push the metal bar through the slot while pulling the crotch belt out. Never use the Child Restraint without the Crotch Strap installed.

Cleaning Instructions

Fabrics can be hand washed with mild soap and water, or machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with mild detergent. Hang to dry. DO NOT BLEACH. For additional care and maintenance instructions, consult your product manual.

DO NOT remove the Harness Straps, Chest Clip, or Chest Clip pads. The Chest Clip Pads can be spot cleaned with warm water and mild soap. For assistance or additional information, contact Elfe Juvenile Products Customer Service at 1-800-667-8184.

Softgoods Installation

Backrest Seat Pad: Place the Backrest Seat Pad onto the Child Restraint.
Elastic Straps (Backrest): Hook the elastic strap onto the side hook and the top hook near the vehicle belt path. Repeat for the other side.
Seat Fabric Tuck: Gently tuck the fabric into the groove around the Child Restraint. Repeat for the other side. Hook both elastic straps onto the back of the Child Restraint.
Armrest Fabric: Slide the Armrest Fabric onto the armrest, then snap the Armrest Fabric to the Backrest Seat Pad. Repeat for the other armrest.
Armrest Hook: Hook the Armrest fabric loop onto the side hook near the vehicle belt path. Repeat for the other side.
Headrest Fabric Pad: Place the Headrest Fabric Pad onto the Headrest.
Headrest Fabric Tuck: Tuck the fabric into the groove at the top of the headrest. Gently push down on both plastic tabs at the top of the Headrest until they snap into the grooves.
Headrest Elastic Strap: With the Headrest in the highest position, hook the elastic strap onto the BACK of the Headrest. Repeat for the other elastic strap.
Seat Bottom Fabric: Place the Seat Bottom Fabric onto the Child Restraint and pull fabric around the Harness Adjuster Strap Cover. Pull the Crotch Strap UP through the fabric and pull the fabric down and around the front and sides of the seat.
Cup Holders: Match the "R" and "L" Cup Holders to the Child Restraint and insert each into its housing. Ensure the lip fits behind the groove and it clicks into place. Repeat for the other cup holder.
Crotch Strap Pad: Slide the Harness Buckle up through the Crotch Strap Pad. Push the fabric tab through the slot on the FRONT of the Harness Buckle. Pull the tab out of the BACK to secure it.
Shoulder Pads: Fold the hook and loop tab over the Harness Strap and secure both sides together. Repeat for the other Shoulder Pad, ensuring correct orientation.

Crotch Strap Installation

Insertion: Insert the metal bar into the slot at the bottom of the seat until it protrudes from the underside.
Securing: Turn the metal bar so it lies flat on the bottom of the seat. Never use the Child Restraint without the Crotch Strap installed.
