Quick Start Guide
1. Before You Start
Separate the mounting bracket from the camera base before you start.

2. Set Up Your Camera

Download the App
Download the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have an account, create one first.
Download on the App Store

Power Up
Plug in the adapter to power up your camera.

Set Up
Tap the "+" button > Add Device in the app and select your model. Follow the app instructions to set up your camera.
3. Mount Your Camera
Option 1: Wall Mount
- Drill Holes
The mounting distance from the side wall should be greater than 70 cm (2.3 ft) to allow enough space for tightening the side bracket screws.
Stick the mounting template for the wall mount to the desired place. Drill four screw holes according to the mounting template. (Diameter = 6 mm / 15/64 in.)
- Install the Bracket
Insert four anchors into the holes and use the screws to affix the bracket over the anchors.
- Route the Cable
Route the cable through one of the base's three notches according to the direction of your power outlet.
The bracket design allows you to route the cable through the hole in the wall to prevent the cable and the hole from exposing to the outside.

Secure the Camera
- Align and slide the camera base onto the bracket from the outside in.
- Use two bracket screws to affix the bracket and camera base.
Option 2: Eave Mount
- Drill Holes
Stick the mounting template for the eave mount to the desired place. Drill two screw holes according to the template. (Diameter = 6 mm / 15/64 in.)
- Install the Bracket
Insert two anchors into the holes and use the screws to affix the bracket over the anchors.
- Route the Cable
Route the cable through one of the base's three notches according to the direction of your power outlet.

Option 3: Pole Mount
- Install the Bracket
Mount the bracket on the pole using one pole-mounting loop* (loop width ≤ 12 mm). (*Pole-mounting Loop not included)
- Route the Cable
Route the cable through one of the base's three notches according to the direction of your power outlet.

- Use two bracket screws to affix the bracket and camera base.
4. Install Waterproof Accessories

Install the Waterproof Seal for Power Connectors
Install the waterproof seal for the power connectors.

Install Waterproof Cable Attachments
Install the waterproof cable attachments for the network interface. Make sure each part is securely attached and the waterproof rings are flush to keep out water.
When the Ethernet port connects to a network device
1) Route the network cable through the following components in order: fix nut, waterproof ring, and then the waterproof jacket.
2) Insert the waterproof ring into the waterproof jacket.
3) Fix the O-ring to the network interface of the camera and connect the network cables.
4) Attach the network interface with the waterproof jacket, then twist to lock. Rotate the fix nut to secure it to the waterproof jacket.
When the Ethernet port does not connect to a network device
1) Insert the waterproof plug into the waterproof ring, then insert them into the waterproof jacket.
2) Fix the O-ring to the network interface of the camera. Attach the network interface with the waterproof jacket, then twist to lock. Rotate the fix nut to secure it to the waterproof jacket.

Button Explanation
RESET Button: Open the silicone cover. While the camera is powered on, press and hold the RESET button to reset the camera.
- Press and hold for 5 seconds: Reset Wi-Fi settings only
- Press and hold for 10 seconds: Reset to factory settings
microSD Card Slot: Open the silicone cover and insert a microSD card.* Initialize it on the Tapo app for local recording. (*microSD card not included.)

What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?

What should I do if the SD card is not working properly?
- Make sure you are using a microSD card.
- It's recommended to use a Class 10 microSD card or higher, with storage from 8 GB to 512 GB.
- Make sure you have initialized the microSD card in the Tapo app.
- If the problem still persists, contact TP-Link technical support.
How do I reset the camera?
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the Reset button for about 5s until the System LED blinks red quickly to reset the Wi-Fi while keeping other settings; for 10s to factory reset the camera.
- Open the Tapo app, go to the Camera Settings page, and remove the camera to factory reset it.
