USER MANUAL PRODUCT CODE WA01010006 PRODUCT CODE WA01010006 INTRODUCTION The iCONNECT Stealth Carbon Tri-Walker has been designed to offer increased stability and support to individuals that want to stay active. Its cutting-edge carbon framework delivers strength, style and durability while maintaining a low carry weight. READ BEFORE USE: Before you begin using your tri-walker, please ensure you, and any persons that may assist you in its use, take the time to read, understand and follow the instructions given within this manual carefully. Visually impaired users can view this manual in PDF format at the following URL: www.careco.co.uk SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS · Only use the tri-walker for its intended use, incorrect use can lead to hazardous situations. · Only use the tri-walker on even and solid surfaces · Do not overfill the product bag Maximum load 5KG · Prolonged exposure to hot or cold temperatures can cause parts of the tri-walker to become hot or cold. · Replace damaged or significantly worn parts if and when required. · Periodically test the brakes to ensure safe use. PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION The product identification label is located on the cross-frame. 3 PRODUCT CODE WA01010006 PARTS DESCRIPTION 1 2 3 1. Hand Grip 2. Brake 3. Storage Bag 4. Frame 5. Folding Crossbar 6. Front Wheel 4 7. Rear Wheel 5 7 6 MAXIMUM CARRY BAG LOAD: 5 KG 4 FOLDING & UNFOLDING FOLDING: Position the tri-walker upright on its wheels. Push the crossbar inwards to release the spring lock. Push both handles together. UNFOLDING: Position the tri-walker upright on its wheels. Pull both handles apart. The crossbar will lock into place. The tri-walker can be folded with/without the storage bag attached. If the bag is full, empty the bag before folding. Alternatively, remove it from the frame. 5 PRODUCT CODE WA01010006 HANDLE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT Press and hold spring button (A) while pulling the handle upwards. When the handle is at the desired height, release spring button (A). An audible "click" will confirm the handle is secure. Repeat on the opposite side. Ensure both handles are level before using the tri-walker. APPLYING THE BRAKES Stopping Gradually squeeze both brake levers to stop the tri-walker. Release the brake levers to start moving again. Turning Squeeze the left and right brake levers individually to rotate the tri-walker. Release the brake lever to stop rotating. Locking Push both brake levers downwards to apply the brake lock. Unlocking Pull both brake levers upwards to unlock the brakes. Ensure the tri-walker is stationary when locking the brakes. Regularly test the brakes to ensure they function correctly. 6 ACCESSORIES BAG Attaching Insert the bag clips into the bag mounts on the tri-walker frame. Secure using the bag fasteners Removing Release the bag fasteners Lift the bag upwards to remove it from the frame. 7 PRODUCT CODE WA01010006 HANDLING & TRANSPORTING Carry the tri-walker using the rubber handles and/or areas of the frame that are clear of pinch points. Avoid heavy pressure when transporting the tri-walker. CLEANING & HYGIENE To keep the tri-walker in optimal condition, it should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth and/or mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners/materials. Dry the tri-walker after cleaning and after use in bad weather conditions. MAINTENANCE By performing simple maintenance, the user can extend the life expectancy of the tri-walker. · Check fasteners regularly and tighten if necessary · Check tyre condition regularly · Check brake functionality · Check wheels move freely · Check upholstery for wear 8 ADJUSTMENTS BRAKE CABLE ADJUSTMENT Difficulty Level LOW Moderate High B Tools Required A 10mm Spanner x1 The user can adjust the brake cable using simple household tools. Loosen the lock nut (A) by rotating it anticlockwise. Adjust the brake cable tension by rotating the brake adjuster (B). INTENDED USER To aid any user with mobility limitations to walk independently and safely. INTENDED ENVIRONMENT This product is intended for use both indoors and outdoors on flat, firm surfaces. EXPECTED LIFETIME The Expected Lifetime is the estimated period of time for which the tri-walker is expected to function according to its intended use. Various items such as weight capacity, user behaviour, external conditions and intensity of use can affect the expected lifetime. Weight Capacity: If the user exceeds the weight limit specified, it may affect the tri-walker expected lifetime. User Behaviour: Using excessive force, rough handling or dropping the product significantly shorten the tri-walker's expected lifetime. External Conditions: Extreme temperatures, humidity and exposure to harsh weather conditions can accelerate the deterioration of the tri-walker. Usage: A tri-walker that is used daily may experience more wear and tear compared to a tri-walker that is used occasionally. The expected lifetime for the tri-walker is 15 years providing the instructions and information within this user manual are followed. Regular cleaning, lubrication of moving parts, and tightening of loose fixings will prevent premature wear and damage and extend the product's lifetime. The expected lifetime is not related to the product warranty. 12 WARRANTY If a component requires repair or replacement due to a specific manufacturing or material defect within its warranty period, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge by CareCo. ·FRAME: 5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ·DURABLE PARTS: 1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY Consumables are not covered under normal warranty circumstances unless they have clearly suffered excessive wear or damage as a direct result of a manufacturing defect. These items include grips, tyres, and rubber accessories. The guarantee for the tri-walker is not transferable. Parts that have been previouslyt replaced that require subsequent repair or replacement due to manufacturing defects will be honoured for the remainder of the tri-walker's warranty period. Parts that have been purchased by the end user after the original warranty period has expired have a warranty period of 12 months. CareCo is not responsible if the tri-walker requires repair or replacement as a direct result of: · Changes or modifications made to the product that fall outside of the manufacturer's specifications · The product not being serviced or maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations contained in this user manual. · Negligence, Accidental Damage, and Improper use · Repairs attempted before CareCo have been notified · The product being purposely damaged or mistreated In the unlikely event that this product is recalled, CareCo will notify the user.
