Note: The supplied items are designed exclusively for this XPLORA Watch and may not be compatible with other devices. Use only manufacturer-approved accessories. Using unapproved accessories may lead to performance issues and malfunctions not covered by the warranty. Appearances and specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Device Layout

The XPLORA Watch features a microphone, an SOS emergency call button, and a power ON/OFF/Home Key/LCD ON/OFF button.

The back of the watch has charging terminals and a SIM card slot.

Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the USB cable and the adapter to the charging cradle. A common adapter for XPLORA Watch can be used, or you can connect the phone directly to a PC's USB terminal.
  2. Align the charging terminals on the cradle and the XPLORA Watch. The magnetic cradle ensures easy connection.
  3. Charging begins when the cradle is properly seated, indicated by the LED lights on the cradle. If the LED does not light up, check the adapter connection and cradle seating.

Charging Indicator:

Charger Indicator Status
Red Charging
Green Charging Complete
Blinking Orange Charging Error

Replacing the Watch Strap

  1. Gently push down the watch strap at the connection point between the XPLORA Watch and the strap.
  2. Using an adequate tool, hook the spring bar exposed when pushing the strap down, and pull it down to disconnect the bar from the XPLORA Watch.
  3. Remove the spring bar from the disconnected watch strap and insert it into the new watch strap.
  4. Insert the spring bar of the replacement watch strap into the mounting hole on the side of the XPLORA Watch.
  5. Push down the opposite fastened spring bar to insert it into the spring bar groove of the other side.

Power ON/OFF

Power ON

Press the right middle button on the XPLORA Watch to turn it on.

Power OFF

To power off, long-press the right middle power button. This feature prevents accidental power-off by the child.

Touch Function Description

The XPLORA Watch features a touch screen. Touch the screen with a finger and use sliding gestures (left/right, up/down) to navigate through menus.

UI Screen Navigation

  1. Press any button to turn on the LED screen if it's off.
  2. Slide the screen left to access the menu screen. The menus include Message, Send my location, and MY Watch. Slide left and right to view desired menus. Touching a menu selects it.
  3. To return to the previous menu, briefly press the SOS button or slide the top of the screen downwards.

Making a Call

  1. Slide the screen from right to left to access the phone menu, then touch it to view the phone directory.
  2. Slide left or right to find the desired contact and touch the screen to initiate a voice call.
  3. Touch the call termination icon to end the call.
  4. Touch the volume icon during a call to adjust the volume.
  5. To return to the previous menu, press the SOS button or slide the top of the screen downwards.

SOS Emergency Call

Pressing the left SOS button for 3 seconds or longer automatically calls the primary contact. An SOS message is also sent to up to 6 registered administrators.

Emergency call numbers can be configured via the XPLORA Watch Mobile app.

Volume Adjustment

  1. Slide the menu screen downwards to access the status indication/volume adjustment screen.
  2. Touch the volume adjustment bar to change the volume.
  3. Touch the volume adjustment icon to mute the volume.
  4. Touch the bottom of the screen to return to the menu screen.

Receiving a Call

  • Touch the incoming call icon to answer a call.
  • Touch the call termination icon during a call to end it.

Message Receiving and Viewing

Message Receiving

A message receiving window appears when a message is received. Touch 'View' to see the incoming message.

Message Viewing

  1. Slide the screen from right to left to access the Message menu.
  2. Touch the Message menu to go to the message screen.
  3. Slide left and right to view received messages.
  4. To return to the previous menu, press the SOS button or slide the top of the screen downwards.

Calling/Deleting a Message

  1. Slide the message screen upwards to display the menu.
  2. Touch 'Call' to call the sender of the message.
  3. Touch 'Delete' to access the Delete/Delete All/Cancel screen.
  4. Touch 'Delete' to remove the selected message.
  5. Touch 'Delete All' to access the Delete All Messages screen.
  6. Touch 'Yes' to delete all messages.

Send My Location

The 'Send my location' feature allows the XPLORA Watch user to send their current location to parents or administrators. This provides an immediate way for guardians to know the child's whereabouts.

  1. Navigate to the 'Send my location' menu by sliding left or right.
  2. Touch the menu to open the 'Send my location' screen.
  3. Touching the screen sends a text message with location information to up to 6 administrators.

Checking Information / Software Upgrade

  1. Slide left or right to access the Information menu.
  2. Touch the Information menu to view details like My Phone Number, Model Name, S/W Version, Serial Number, Network Status, and the S/W upgrade button.
  3. The S/W upgrade option is at the end of the Information screen.
  4. Touch 'S/W upgrade' to check for and install the latest firmware.

Software Upgrade Notes:

  • There is no data charge for firmware downloads.
  • The device must be connected to power charging for S/W upgrades.
  • The device may restart multiple times during the upgrade process.
  • Ensure the charging cable is connected throughout the upgrade.
  • Do not disconnect the charging cable or touch the device during the S/W upgrade.

Install XPLORA App

The XPLORA app is compatible with Android and iOS devices. Other users managing XPLORA devices must follow the same installation procedures.

  1. Verify compatibility of the XPLORA app with your mobile device at www.myxplora.co.uk/devices.
  2. Search for "XPLORA" in the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS) and install the app. You will need an account with the respective store.
  3. Open the installed app and tap "Start" to begin the setup process, which includes creating an XPLORA account and pairing your XPLORA Watch with your mobile device. Pairing enables communication between the devices.

Activate the App

First-time users must activate the XPLORA app.

  1. Select your country code and enter your phone number, then tap "Next".
  2. A 4-digit code will be sent via SMS. If you don't receive it within 3 minutes, you can request a resend.
  3. Enter the received 4-digit code and tap "Next".
  4. Upon successful activation, you can create an XPLORA account or log in if you already have one.

Note: If you log out of an activated app, you will need to reactivate it.

Create XPLORA Account

An account is required to use XPLORA services. The login ID must be unique.

Registering a New Account

  1. Tap "Register" to create a new account.
  2. Choose a username of at least 6 characters.
  3. Select a password of at least 6 characters.
  4. Verify your password by typing it again.
  5. Tap "Register".

Logging In

If you already have an account, tap "Log in" and enter your ID and password.

Add XPLORA Watch

You can add and pair multiple XPLORA Watches.

  1. Ensure your XPLORA Watch is powered on and has a mobile network connection (check the signal bar).
  2. In the app, enter your XPLORA Watch's phone number (including country code) and tap "Next".
  3. A 4-digit code will appear on your XPLORA Watch display. If it doesn't appear within 3 minutes, request a resend.
  4. Enter the 4-digit code in the app and tap "Next".
  5. Successful pairing will display the main menu and the XPLORA Watch's location. If unsuccessful, repeat the procedure.

Main Menu

The main menu provides access to various features:

  • XPLORA Watches: Manage multiple watches and configure functions.
  • Product/Service Information: View details about the product and services.
  • Last Known Location: Displays the last recorded location of the XPLORA Watch.
  • Child Information: Shows the child's name and phone number. Tapping the number allows calling the child.
  • Main Features: Access Location, Schedules, Safety Zones, and Messages. These features may vary by app version or XPLORA device.

Setting Menu

The Setting menu allows for detailed configuration:

  • Manage XPLORAs: Add, update, or delete XPLORA Watches. Update user profiles, including photos and names.
  • XPLORA Settings: Configure the detailed environment for the selected XPLORA Watch.
  • Application Info: View information about the current application.
  • Help Center: Access useful service information and contact details.
  • Log out: Logs you out of the app. Re-activation is required upon next login.

Contacts

Guardians are authorized to manage the app and contacts.

  • Block unregistered number: Enable this to reject calls from numbers not registered as Guardians or Contacts.
  • Siren on SOS press: If enabled, activating the SOS button will trigger a loud siren.
  • Guardians: Up to 4 guardians can be added. Guardians must install and activate the app. The SOS call order can be changed; if the first guardian doesn't answer, the watch will try the next.
  • Contacts: View the list of contacts. Add new contacts who can call or receive calls from the XPLORA Watch. Registered contacts are automatically added to the watch.

Silent Period

Set a silent period for the XPLORA Watch to prevent calls during specific times, such as school hours.

  • Add multiple silent period schedules.
  • Set the date, time, and name for the silent period.
  • Configure repeat settings (e.g., weekdays).

Main Menu: Location, Schedules, Safety Zones, and Messages

  • Location: Track the current location and history of the XPLORA Watch.
  • Schedules: Set alarm schedules for the XPLORA Watch.
  • Safety Zones: Define geo-fences and receive notifications when the XPLORA Watch enters or leaves these zones.
  • Message: Send text messages to the XPLORA Watch. Short, clear messages are recommended for the child's readability.

Location Tracking

XPLORA Watch uses GPS, WiFi, and mobile networks for location tracking. Accuracy may vary based on the signal source.

  • The map displays the terrain model, satellite mode, your mobile device's location (blue dot), and the XPLORA Watch's location (pin with accuracy circle).
  • Location history is available for the last 72 hours.

Schedules

Manage schedule alarms for the XPLORA Watch. Set alarms that will trigger at specified times.

Safety Zones

Configure safety zones (geo-fences) to receive notifications when the XPLORA Watch enters or leaves a defined area. Notifications are sent based on the auto-position report interval. The minimum safety zone radius is 500m from the center point.

Messages

Send text messages to the XPLORA Watch. Keep messages concise for better readability on the small screen.

Wallpaper

Customize the watch face. Choose between analog and digital watch types. In digital mode, tap the purple icon to change the wallpaper (watch face) by taking a new photo or choosing from existing ones.

Auto Position Report

Configure the intervals for automatic position reporting. This feature updates the watch's location at set times.
