It is NOT intended for industrial or commercial use. Do not use the product outdoors. When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, and hyperthermia, including the following: 1) Read all instructions before using this heater. 2) This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear. 3) Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended. 4) ALWAYS unplug the heater when not in use. (This item may be omitted if the heater is provided with a clockoperated switch). 5) DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair. 6) DO NOT use outdoors. 7) This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. NEVER locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. 8) DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. DO NOT route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. 9) To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet. 10) Connect to properly grounded outlets only. (This item may be omitted if the heater is not provided with a grounding type attachment plug.) 11) DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire or damage the heater. 12) To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked. 13) A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored. 14) Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. 15) Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. NEVER use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip). 16) This heater may include an audible (a visual) alarm to warn that parts of the heater are getting excessively hot. If the alarm sounds (flashes), immediately turn the heater off and inspect for any objects on or adjacent to the heater that may cause high temperatures. DO NOT OPERATE THE HEATER WITH THE ALARM SOUNDING (FLASHING). 17) Any repairs to this appliance should be carried out by a qualified service person. 18) Under no circumstances should this appliance be modified. Parts having to be removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operating this appliance again. 19) DO NOT use this heater in elevated locations, such as on shelves, raised platforms, etc. 20) This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes, with the current CSA C22.0 Canadian Electrical codes or for USA installations, follow local codes and the National Electric code ANSI/NFPA No. 70. 21) Hyperthermia can result in death. Symptoms of hyperthermia include high body temperature, headache, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, dizziness, fainting, and rapid pulse. If you begin to experience symptoms related to hyperthermia, turn off the heater and seek medical attention. 22) To avoid excessive room temperatures which can cause hyperthermia: DO NOT leave product running unattended in a confined space around infants, or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. ALWAYS Locate your electric heater away from furniture or loose hanging drapes. ALWAYS Keep the rear grill away from walls or drapes so as not to block the air intake. (If applicable) ALWAYS Unplug electric heater when not in use. ALWAYS Use electric heater on a flat dry surface. ALWAYS Use on 110-120 volt 60Hz AC power supply. ALWAYS Route the cord so it will not be walked on, tripped over or pinched by furniture. ALWAYS Keep electrical cords, drapes and other furnishings away from your electric heater. ALWAYS Keep your electric heater clean and the filter free of dust. (If applicable) ALWAYS Use indoors only. Use in the presence of explosive or flammable vapors such as gas or paint. Plug another electrical appliance into the same circuit. Blown fuses, tripped circuits and fire hazards may result. Use water or liquids to clean your electric heater. Let bare skin touch hot surfaces as this may cause burns. Leave electric heater unattended. Leave electric heater when children or pets are present. Locate electric heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water containers. Operate electric heater with a damaged cord, plug or after the heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Run cord under carpeting or cover with throw rugs or runners. Insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust openings, as this may cause an electrical shock, fire or damage. PRODUCT DIAGRAM FRONT REAR Page 4 CONTROL PANEL REMOTE AIR INTAKE HEAT OUTPUT FEET PADS OVERHEAT SAFETY FEATURE: This heater is equipped with an automatic overheat protection device. If the heater grill is obstructed, or if the heater gets too hot for any reason, the automatic overheat device will turn the heater off. To reset the heater, simply turn off the power and unplug the heater, remove any obstructions, check the cord and the plug for damage. Leave unplugged for 30 minutes until it cools completely. Plug unit back in and switch it on. If the heater still does not turn on, please contact customer service. TIP-OVER SAFETY FEATURE This heater is equipped with a safety tip-over device. Once the heater is tipped over, an external switch located on the bottom of the heater will automatically shut the heater off. Once the heater is restored to an upright position, the heater will reset. WARNING: This heater has a voltage rating of 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in A. An adapter as shown in C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available. DO NOT DEFEAT THE SAFETY PURPOSE OF THE GROUNDED PLUG. WARNING: It is normal for the power cord to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the outlet and the plug may cause overheating of the plug. If this occurs, try inserting the plug into a different outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to inspect the original outlet for damage. Page 5 CONTROL PANEL 1. Temp up button: To increase desired temperature. 2. ON/OFF button: Powers the display on and off. 3. Temp down button: To decrease desired temperature. 4. Mode button To select between High Low and Eco modes. 5. Digital display Indicate set room temperature or time or heating mode or lock. 6. Signal receiving window: For receiving remote control signal. 7. Timer button Used to engage timer mode and to set hour value for the timer. 5 4 6 7 1 REMOTE CONTROL 2 3 ON/OFF button: Used for power-on or power-off. Mode button Used for mode selection. Temp up button: to make set temperature rise. Temp down button: to make set temperature decline. Timer button: Used for setting timer and adjust time value of timing. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Start and select working mode. HH LL EC 2. Setting Desired Temperature Page 6 Turn the heater on by pressing the ON/OFF button on the control panel or by pressing the Power button on the supplied remote control. Once the power is off, the heating element will stop working at first. Fan will CONTINUE working for 3 min to cool interior of heater. Select a heat, Mode. Press the MODE button to toggle between the three heat modes. HH=High Mode uses 1500W; LL=Low Mode uses 1000W. EC=ECO mode is an Economic Energy Saving Function. When ECO mode is chosen, the heater will manage itself from less to more heating power (watts) to maintain a constant warm 68 . Adjust the desired temperature by pressing the Up/Down arrows on the control panel or remote control. Desired temperature options vary from 59 to 86 . Once you have chosen the desired temperature, the heater will remain on until the room temperature increases to the temperature on the digital display. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the desired room temperature. 3. Setting the POWER OFF TIMER Function Note: The Power-Off-Timer Function will allow for the heater to power OFF after a certain set time and can only be set while the heater's display is in the "On" position. Turn the heater to the "On" position. Press the Timer button on the heater's control panel or the remote. The digital display changes from the "temperature" to the "hours" option for the timer. Continue to press the timer button to change the number of hours you would like the heater to run before powering itself off. The hour options for the timer are from 0 to 12 hrs. (in 1 hr. increments). The selected hour increments will flash for a few seconds, then revert to the set desired temperature. The heater will power OFF when the internal heater clock counts down the hour increments you have set. Page 7 4. Setting the POWER-ON-TIMER Function (Note: The Power-ON-Timer Function will allow for the heater to power ON after a certain set time and can only be set while the heater's display is in the "Off" position. Turn the heater to the "OFF" position. Press the Timer button on the heater's control panel or the remote. The digital display shows the "hours" option for the timer. Continue to press the timer button to change the number of hours you would like the heater's internal clock to count down before powering itself on. The hour options for the timer are from 0 to 12 hrs. (in 1 hr. increments). If a timer is set, the digital screen will always display the timing time. The heater will power itself ON when the internal heater clock counts down the hour increments you have set. 5. Setting electro lock The Electro Lock can help prevent the heater from being accidentally engaged by children. The locking mechanism can be set in both the ON and OFF modes. Press Temp Up and Temp Down buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. Locking is complete when you hear a beep. When locked, the functions of the control And panel and remote will be locked in use. (LC displayed on the digital screen When you need to unlock it, press the Temp Up and Temp Down buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. You will hear a beep. The control panel and remote And control will become functional again. NOTE: Once the power is off, the heating element will stop working first. Fan will CONTINUE working for 3 min to cool interior of heater. This is normal. MAINTENANCE 1. Turn off the heater on by pressing the ON/OFF button on the control panel or by pressing the Power button on the supplied remote control. 2. Unplug the unit and let it cool completely. 3. To keep the heater clean, the outer shell may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. You may use a mild detergent if necessary. After cleaning, dry the unit with a soft cloth. CAUTION: DO NOT let liquid enter the heater. 4. DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive powders, furniture polish, or rough brushes to clean the heater. This may cause damage or deterioration to the surface of the heater. 5. DO NOT immerse the heater in water. 6. Wait until the unit is completely dry before use. CAUTION Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, or injury to persons. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING If the heater will not operate, please check the following before seeking repair advice: 1. Check if the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet, if not, plug in. 2. Check if the electricity to the main fuse is working. 3. Check to see if the battery on the remote is placed correctly, undamaged. Page 8 NOTE: For the heater to function properly, the desired temperature on the heater must be set a few degrees higher than the temperature in the room. If the seems to not be heating, increase the desired temperature on the heater to engage the heat elements. REMOTE CARE If the heater will not be used for a while, please remove the battery in the remote control according to following steps, then take care of the remote control.
