LED Indicators

The front panel features a single LED indicator labeled 'Power/Cloud'.

Interface Connectors

The rear panel contains several connectors: a lock slot, a console port, a PoE LAN port, and a power input port.

Using Power over Ethernet (PoE)

Use a standard Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port on the DBA-X1230P to a PoE power source device such as a PoE switch or PoE injector.

(Optional) Using the Power Adapter

Connect the power connector of the adapter to the power input on the DBA-X1230P and plug the adapter into a nearby power outlet.

Using D-Link Nuclias

Note: To use D-Link Nuclias, the DBA-X1230P must be connected to the Internet.

The DBA-X1230P is designed to be managed through the D-Link Nuclias cloud. Refer to the D-Link Nuclias User Manual for detailed configuration instructions.

This diagram illustrates connecting the Access Point to the D-Link Nuclias cloud. It shows a PC connecting to a switch or router, which then connects to the DBA-X1230P Access Point. The Access Point is then shown connecting to the D-Link Nuclias management cloud.

1. On an Internet-connected PC, open a web browser and go to www.nuclias.com.
2. Enter your D-Link Nuclias user name and password.

If a device's login credentials are modified using Nuclias Cloud, the local username and password will also reflect the changes made. To learn more about configuring your password, please refer to the Nuclias Cloud manual.

Manual Configuration

Note: D-Link recommends manually configuring the device before mounting it.

If you are unable to connect to the D-Link Nuclias cloud, you may need to manually configure the DBA-X1230P using its web user interface (UI).

Refer to the DBA-X1230P User Manual for detailed configuration instructions. Use one of the following methods to access the web user interface:

Attaching the Rubber Pads

The included rubber pads can be placed on the bottom of the device to prevent the device from damaging the surface it is placed on.

1. Remove the rubber pads from the adhesive strip.
2. Stick one pad on each foot on the bottom panel of the access point.

Mounting on a Solid Wall or Ceiling

1. (Optional) Attach the included lock plate to the mounting plate using the included screws. (Shows the optional lock plate being attached to the main mounting plate using screws.)
2. Use the mounting plate to mark the location where to drill the holes in the wall or ceiling. (Illustrates using the mounting plate to mark drill hole locations on a wall or ceiling.)
3. Drill holes on the markings and place the included anchors into the drilled holes. (Depicts placing wall anchors into pre-drilled holes.)
4. Align and place the mounting plate on top of the anchors and use the included screws to secure the mounting plate to the surface. (Shows the mounting plate being aligned over the anchors and secured with screws to the surface.)
5. Connect the Ethernet cable and power adapter (optional) to the device.
6. Slide the DBA-X1230P onto the mounting plate. (Shows the DBA-X1230P being slid onto the secured mounting plate.)

Mounting on a Ceiling Crossbar

1. (Optional) Attach the included lock plate to the mounting plate using the included screws. (Similar to Figure 4, shows the optional lock plate being attached to the mounting plate for ceiling crossbar mounting.)
2. Clip the two included ceiling brackets onto the ceiling crossbar. Make sure both brackets are positioned in line with each other. (Illustrates clipping two ceiling brackets onto a ceiling crossbar, ensuring they are aligned.)
3. Using the included screws, secure the mounting plate to the ceiling brackets. (Shows the mounting plate being secured to the ceiling brackets using screws.)
4. Connect the Ethernet cable and power adapter (optional) to the device.

Rebooting the Device

Press and hold down the reset button between 2 to 5 seconds and release to reboot the device.

Resetting the Device

Press and hold down the reset button between 6 to 15 seconds and release to reset the device to its factory default settings.

Press and hold down the reset button for more than 15 seconds and release to reset the device to its factory default settings and force the device to load an alternate firmware.

ErP Power Usage

This device is an Energy Related Product (ErP) that automatically switches to a power-saving Network Standby mode within 1 minute of no packets being transmitted. It can also be turned off through a power switch to save energy when it is not needed.

Network Standby: 7.27 watts

Switched Off: 0.06 watts

For product available in the USA/Canada market, only channel 1~11 can be operated. Selection of other channels is not possible.

Note The country code selection is for non-USA models only and is not available to all USA models. Per FCC regulations, all WiFi product marketed in the USA must be fixed to USA operational channels only.

RF Frequency Requirements This device is for indoor use only when using all channels in the 5.15 to 5.25 GHz frequency range. High power radars are allocated as primary users of the 5.25 to 5.35 GHz and 5.65 to 5.85 GHz bands. These radar stations can cause interference with and/or damage this device. This device will not operate on channels which overlap the 5600-5650 MHz band. It is restricted to indoor environments only.
