1. Get Started

This section covers the initial setup and components of your PLAUD NotePin.

To charge your NotePin:

1. Remove the magnetic pin from the NotePin.
2. Place the NotePin into the charging dock.
3. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the charging dock.

1.6. Downloading the PLAUD App

Search for "PLAUD" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) to download the app. The app supports English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Ensure your phone has Bluetooth and Location permissions enabled for the app.

1.7. Creating an Account

You can log in using your existing Google or Apple account, or create a new PLAUD account via email. Follow the on-screen instructions for account creation and verification.

1.8. Binding the PLAUD NotePin

To bind your NotePin:

1. Open the PLAUD App and tap the "Connect" button.
2. Select "PLAUD NotePin" from the list of devices.
3. Press and hold the record button on the NotePin until the white light flashes, indicating it's ready for connection.
4. The app will search for the NotePin. Once it appears, connect to it.

2. PLAUD NotePin Device

2.1. How to start recording?

Press and hold the center button until you feel a gentle vibration intensify to start recording. To stop recording, press and hold until you feel two strong vibrations.

2.2. How do I transfer recordings to the PLAUD App?

Recordings are automatically transferred to the app once the NotePin is connected. Stored recordings on the NotePin are deleted after successful transfer. Two transfer methods are available:

• BLE Transfer: The default method, automatically transfers files upon connection.
• Fast Transfer: A faster method that uses a WiFi hotspot enabled by the NotePin. Follow prompts to initiate and connect to the NotePin's hotspot for quick file transfer. The app will guide you through switching to a Wi-Fi connection and will revert to Bluetooth automatically after the transfer.

2.3. How can I find the Serial Number of my PLAUD NotePin?

The serial number (SN) can be found:

• By removing the magnetic pin from the NotePin.
• On the back of the product box.
• Within the PLAUD app under the "My PLAUD Device" page.

2.4. Can I turn off the Indicator Light for my recorder?

No, the indicator light cannot be turned off. It is designed to comply with privacy regulations, signal recording status, and indicate other states like charging and Bluetooth connection, enhancing user understanding of the device's status.

2.5. How long does it take to fully charge the PLAUD Device?

Charging typically takes 2-3 hours. The indicator light is purple while charging and turns solid green when fully charged.

2.6. How to reset the PLAUD NotePin?

To reset the NotePin, connect it to its charger and press the record button for 12 seconds. The NotePin needs to be charged for this process.

2.7. What is the maximum Bluetooth range for the NotePin?

The maximum Bluetooth range is up to 10 meters in open environments. Actual range may vary. For stable connection, keep the device close to your phone.

2.8. Is NotePin weather-resistant?

The NotePin is splash-resistant and suitable for light rain or washing hands. It is not designed for submersion in water.

2.9. Does the PLAUD NotePin support phone call recording?

No, the NotePin does not support phone call recording as it lacks a Vibration Conduction Sensor (V.C.S.).

2.10. What is the maximum recording distance?

The optimal recording range is 1-3 meters, with a maximum range of 1-7 meters, based on a standard human voice at 75dB.

3. Policy & Warranty

3.1. What is your shipping policy?

PLAUD offers free global shipping. Orders are typically delivered within 7-16 business days. You can track your order status via the "Orders" section on the official website. Note that shipments are not made to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, and processing may be delayed during weekends, holidays, or high order volumes. Contact customer support if you do not receive a shipment update within 3 business days.

3.2. What is your return and refund policy?

You can return items for a full refund within 30 days of receipt. For damaged, incorrect, or nonfunctional items, returns for exchange or refund are accepted within 7 days of receipt. Contact customer support for assistance. Annual Memberships or Transcription Quotas are eligible for a full refund within 30 days if unused or unactivated. Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days. Activated or used products are not eligible for refunds.

3.3. What is the product warranty?

The PLAUD AI Voice Recorder comes with a 12-month warranty from the sales invoice date, or longer if required by local laws. PLAUD.AI provides free maintenance services for performance failures due to normal use. A valid serial number and proof of purchase are required for warranty service. Warranty is void if the recorder is dismantled, repaired, modified, operated in abnormal conditions, damaged due to misuse, or subjected to collision, falling, or improper storage.
