Introduction
The Aeotec Smart Switch 6 is a low-cost Z-Wave® plug-in module designed to enable Z-Wave command and control (on/off) for any plug-in appliance. It can report immediate wattage consumption or kWh energy usage over time. Non-volatile memory retains operating status during power failures.
The device features a Smart RGB LED on its surface, which can indicate the output load status or wireless signal strength. The LED color can be configured to the user's preference.
The Smart Switch 6 is a security Z-Wave device and supports Over The Air (OTA) firmware upgrades.

Advanced Functions
Changing LED Mode
The LED behavior can be changed through configuration. There are three modes:
- Energy Mode: LED mirrors the switch state (on/off).
- Momentary Indicate Mode: LED turns on for 5 seconds after each state change, then turns off.
- Night Light Mode: LED can be turned on and off during user-selected times.
Parameter 81 [1 byte dec] can be set to:
- (0) Energy Mode
- (1) Momentary Indicate Mode
- (2) Night Light Mode
Security or Non-Security Feature
To include the Smart Switch as a non-security device, press the Action Button once during network inclusion with your controller/gateway.
To utilize the Smart Switch's full functionality as a security device with encrypted communication, a security-enabled controller/gateway is required. Press the Smart Switch's Action Button twice within 1 second when your security controller/gateway initiates network inclusion.
