Woodpeckers Cast Aluminum Router Mounting Plate Owner's Manual
Product Overview
The Woodpeckers Cast Aluminum Router Mounting Plate offers a stable and versatile solution for mounting your router in a table. Woodpeckers Router Table Tops are machined with a precisely fitting opening for these plates. For those building their own router table, a template is available (Part #INSTEMP) to simplify cutting the necessary rabbet.

Mounting Your Router to the Plate
Before installing the plate in your table, mount your router to it.
- Remove the plastic plate from the bottom of your router. (Note: Some DeWalt plunge routers have thin bases that may remain in place.)
- Attach the router to the Mounting Plate using the four provided screws.
- The plate features two Brass Plungers: one on a long edge and one on a short edge.
Once the router is attached, place the plate in the table. Position the plate so the Brass Plunger on the long edge points towards the table fence.
The fit can be adjusted using the small Adjustment Screw located next to each Brass Plunger. Make small adjustments, approximately 1/4 turn at a time. The goal is a snug fit in the table opening that eliminates side play. Turn the Adjustment Screw counter-clockwise to tighten the fit and clockwise to loosen it. Ensure both Brass Plungers are adjusted.
Leveling the Plate
The eight set screws around the perimeter of the plate are Leveling Screws. They are used to ensure the plate sits flush with the table surface. The Leveling Screws may start easily but will tighten quickly, which is normal. They are designed to fit tightly to prevent vibration from shifting their position. Exercise care when starting them to avoid cross-threading.
Note: For initial leveling, use only four of the Leveling Screws, two on opposite ends of the plate.
- Apply a small amount of general-purpose grease to the outside of each Leveling Screw.
- Using the long leg of the 1/8" Hex Key, carefully start each Leveling Screw into the plate.
- Switch to the short leg of the Hex Key and turn the Leveling Screw in until it is flush with the top surface of the plate. This may require some effort.
- To check if an adjustment is needed, slide a block of wood across the seam between the plate and the table. The simplest method for leveling is to first adjust the two screws located on each short edge of the plate until they are flush with the table top. Once these edges are flush, adjust the remaining four screws for proper support.
