Model: H5194
Safety Instructions
Read and save these instructions:
- Do not let children use this product, as there is a risk of injuries from the temperature probes.
- Avoid exposing the thermometer body to high temperatures. Do not attach it to the surface of a high-temperature stovetop, oven, or grill. Do not place the thermometer body inside an oven or grill.
- Do not touch the probe directly with bare hands during or directly after cooking. Use heat-insulating gloves to avoid burns.
- Do not submerge the thermometer or probes in water when cleaning and do not clean them in a dishwasher. Instead, lightly rinse them with flowing water and wipe clean.
- Do not use corrosive chemicals when cleaning.
- Always insert the probe past the safety notch (the minimum insertion point) to avoid product damage and personal injuries.
- DO NOT use the probe when cooking at temperatures above 572°F/300°C, or when cooking directly above hot coals or flames.
- DO NOT place probe charging unit directly on the grill cover or too close to any hot surface.
- DO NOT remove the probe while it is exposed to heat. The probe must be inserted in and removed from food away from all heat sources.
- Always use eye protection when removing a probe that has exceeded the maximum temperature or come in contact with hot charcoals or direct flames.
- DO NOT use the probe when searing. If the probe falls into the fire or direct heat source, turn off the cooking appliance and close the lid immediately. Allow the probe to cool completely before removing.
- DO NOT allow the probe to come in contact with hot charcoal or coals.
- The probe will be hot during and after use. Wear heat-resistant gloves when handling the probe.
- Always insert the probe past the safety notch to avoid damage.
- DO NOT use the probe in a microwave or pressure cooker.
- DO NOT place the probe charging unit on any hot surface.
- DO NOT drop the probe onto hard surfaces.
- DO NOT use cleaning products containing alcohol, ammonium, benzene, or abrasives, all of which could damage the device.
- DO NOT submerge the probe in water for a long period of time.
- DO NOT run the probe under cold water immediately after cooking. Let the probe cool down prior to washing.
- DO NOT exceed the probe's internal sensor limit of 212°F/100°C or the ambient sensor limit of 572°F/300°C. Temperatures above these maximums may damage the probe and result in thermal shock and/or inaccurate measurements.
- DO NOT expose the probe's charging unit to moisture. Keep it covered in inclement weather and do not put it in the sink.
- Store the probe in a dry, cool place when not in use. This product is only designed for use in food. Use it only for its intended purpose.
- Please use the original Base to charge the probe. Make sure the temperature probe is fully charged at least every 3 months when not in use for a long period of time.
- DO NOT beat the probe so that the ceramic, glass and electronic components inside the probe will not be damaged.
- Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, or seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness. Always cook your food to USDA safe temperatures.
- Always keep the probe pointed away from fingers and body. Contact may result in injuries. Keep out of reach of children.
- Exposure to electromagnetic and electrostatic noise, such as from wireless communication devices, may result in inaccurate measurements.

- Function Button: A short press displays the internal and ambient temperatures.
Probe Details
The probe has an Internal Sensor for measuring food temperature and an Ambient Sensor for measuring surrounding air temperature. The Safety Notch indicates the minimum insertion depth into food to prevent damage and ensure accurate readings.
Notes on Probe Usage
- Charge the probe for 25 minutes before first use.
- When removing the probe from the base quickly, the base screen may not display a number, indicating disconnection. This is normal. Wait for the probe to reconnect to the base; connection is faster in an open environment.
- If the base screen does not display a number, the probe may be disconnected. Go to the Device Settings page in the Govee Home App and follow in-app instructions to re-pair.
Setup and Connection
- Fully charge the base before first use using the provided cable. Long press the Power button for 3 seconds to turn it on. Place the probe in the base to charge for 25 minutes before use.
- Download the Govee Home App. Open the app, tap the "+" icon, and select "H5194". Follow the in-app instructions to complete the connection. (Only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is supported for the base).
- Take the probe out of the base; it will display the probe number and temperature. If no display, wait for reconnection or rebind the probe via "Device Settings" - "Rebind" and follow instructions to try pairing again.
Download the Govee Home App:
Available on the App Store and Google Play.
Note: The base will not display content if the probe is out of power.
Usage Steps
- Insert the probe correctly into the food to detect temperature. You can also set the desired meat temperature for the corresponding meat. You will be notified by an alarm sound and an app notification once the temperature meets the target.
- After grilling, ensure the ambient temperature has dropped to a safe level before removing the probe. Remember to wear heat-resistant gloves.
- Use a clean damp cloth to wipe the probe after use. Then, place the probe properly into the Base to charge for next use.
Usage Notes
- In an open environment, keep the probe and base within 500ft (150m); in an enclosed environment, keep them within 10ft (3m).
- Place the Base at least 1ft (30cm) away from the cooking appliance to avoid potential damage from heat.
- High temperatures will affect the probe connection distance; try to keep the base close to the probe.
Temperature Alerts & Alarms
- Cooking Temperature Alert: When the monitored temperature reaches the preset cooking temperature, the alarm will sound and the app will push an alert notification.
- Base Battery High Temperature Alarm: Avoid placing the base in contact with high-temperature surfaces or environments. If the internal battery reaches 122°F (50°C), an alarm will trigger, and the base should be immediately removed. If the battery reaches 131°F (55°C), the base will automatically shut down.

Troubleshooting
Screen Display Error Codes
Screen Display Connotation E1 The probe is damaged; please contact customer service or buy a new probe. E2 The base temperature is abnormal. HHH/LLL Probe temperature is too high/low. Cannot connect to Wi-Fi
- Check that the thermometer is connected to your Wi-Fi router's 2.4GHz network. 5GHz is not supported.
- The thermometer's Wi-Fi connection distance is up to 328 ft (100 m). Ensure your Wi-Fi router covers this distance. Note that obstructions can limit coverage.
- Place the thermometer as close as possible to the Wi-Fi router.
Cannot power on/off
- The base has low power. Please charge the base before trying to turn it on.
- Press the power button for 3 seconds to turn the thermometer on and off. If turned on, press again to switch between the current temperature and the preset temperature.
- If the thermometer freezes and doesn't respond to button presses, use a needle or similar object to press the shutdown button to turn it off. Then, press the power button for 3 seconds to try turning it on.
Ambient temperature does not match the cooker
Typically, built-in thermometers in cooking appliances measure temperatures in different spots than where you place your food. The Probe provides an accurate reading of the temperature your food is exposed to, aiding in the calculation of a more precise cook time.
Internal temperature does not match other thermometers
- While the meat is still cooking, there can be variations in temperature in different parts of the meat due to differences in thickness, fat content, or proximity to bones.
- The temperature sensor is at the tip of the probe. Ensure the probe tip is inserted into the meat. The temperature may be inaccurate if inserted inside a cavity.
- Check if the screen displays an alarm temperature, and press the Power/Function button to switch the display.
Probe is disconnected from the base
The grill may block the signal. Place the base near the probe with the upper/lower vent open.
When grilling, keep the handle as far away from metal as possible.
High temperatures will affect the probe connection distance; try to keep the base close to the probe.
Check if the probe is fully charged/damaged. Exposure of the probe tip to meat can damage the probe battery. If damaged, contact after-sales service for replacement.
