Connections: The cuff connects to the port on the LEFT side of the machine. The port on the RIGHT is for an optional A/C adapter (sold separately).
Cuff Placement
Proper cuff placement is essential for accurate blood pressure readings:
- Place the cuff on your left arm, ensuring it is at the same level as your heart. Position it approximately 1-2 centimeters (about 1 inch) above the elbow joint.
- Align the cuff tube in the middle of your arm, directly in line with your middle finger.
- The cuff should feel snug but remain comfortable. It should not be too tight or too loose.
Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the correct placement on the upper arm, showing the brachial artery. It indicates the palm should face up and the cuff should be about 1 inch above the elbow.
Body Placement for Measurement
For optimal measurement accuracy, follow these positioning guidelines:
- Seated Position: Sit comfortably with your back supported. Place your arm, palm-up, on a flat surface (like a table). Ensure your feet are flat on the floor. The cuff should be positioned level with your heart.
Starting a Measurement: Press the [START/STOP] button to power on the monitor. Once the display shows "00", the blood pressure measurement will commence automatically. To stop the measurement process or turn off the monitor after completion, press the [START/STOP] button again, or allow the monitor to shut off automatically after 1 minute of inactivity.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows a person seated correctly for measurement. The monitor's display is depicted, showing: Date/Time (e.g., 12-26 23:54), Pulse rate (e.g., 75 bpm), Systolic pressure (e.g., 120 mmHg), and Diastolic pressure (e.g., 80 mmHg).
Tips for Taking Your Blood Pressure
Adhering to these tips will help ensure the most reliable readings:
- Cuff Size: Use the correct cuff size. It should not feel excessively loose or uncomfortably tight. Position the cuff on your arm with the tubing aligned with your middle finger.
- Securing the Cuff: Fasten the cuff snugly using the hook & loop closures. Ensure there is enough space to fit no more than two fingers between the cuff and your arm.
- Relaxation: Sit quietly for at least five minutes before taking a reading. Support your back and rest your feet flat on the floor. Keep your legs uncrossed.
- Stillness: Remain still and quiet during the measurement. Avoid talking, as this can affect the reading.
- Arm Position: Keep the arm being tested at heart level throughout the measurement. Allow your other arm to rest comfortably at your side.
Visual Descriptions for Tips:
- Tip 1: Illustrates cuff placement on the arm, with tubing aligned centrally.
- Tip 2: Shows the cuff being secured with velcro, with a visual cue for finger space.
- Tip 3: Depicts a person sitting calmly, with proper posture and leg position.
- Tip 4: Shows a person sitting still, with a calm expression, ready for measurement.
- Tip 5: Illustrates the correct arm positioning for measurement relative to the heart.
❗ IMPORTANT!
You can stop the cuff inflation or deflation process at any moment by pressing the [START] button.

Helpful Tips for Understanding Readings
Be aware that various factors can influence your blood pressure readings:
- Individual factors such as genetics, age, sex, altitude, physical activity levels, stress, muscular development, and the use of certain medications can affect blood pressure. The time of day can also play a role.
- Avoid Continuous Readings: To ensure accuracy, wait a minimum of 1 to 1.5 minutes between consecutive readings. This allows blood flow in the arm to normalize. Ideally, allow at least 15 minutes between measurements if taking multiple readings.
- Home vs. Doctor's Office: Blood pressure measurements taken at home may differ by 10-20 points compared to those taken at your doctor's office. This is normal and can be due to various factors.
