Unpacking the Game
Unpack your new dartboard carefully, ensuring all parts are included. The following components are included:
- 1 Electronic Dartboard
- AC Adapter
- 6 Darts (unassembled)
- Owner's Manual
- Soft tip replacement pack

Mounting Instruction
Choose a location to hang the dartboard with approximately 10 feet of open space in front. The "toe-line" should be 7'9 1/4" (2.37 M) from the face of the dartboard for steel tip rules or 8 feet for soft tip rules. Ensure the board is close to an electric outlet if it requires an AC adapter.
To mount:
- Locate a wall stud and mark a point 76.75" from the floor.
- Insert a screw into the center of the wall stud at this height and hang the dartboard on this screw.
- If not mounting into studs, use drywall anchors or other appropriate securing hardware.
- For extra security, fasten four screws (not included) through the holes in the catch ring area (outside the scoring segments).
The center of the bullseye should be 5' 8" from the ground. Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet and the dartboard jack to begin.
Diagram Description: A vertical representation of the dartboard shows the bullseye center should be 173cm (5'8") from the floor. The recommended toe-line distance is 244 cm (8 ft) from the board.

Game Descriptions
01 GAMES (1-8 players or 1-4 teams)
A popular tournament and pub game where players subtract each dart's score from a starting number (e.g., 301) to reach exactly 0. Going past zero is a "Bust" and reverts the score to the previous total. Starting numbers can be set from 301 to 1501. Options include Open In, Open Out, Double In, Double Out, and Master Out. The display shows the winner and PPD (Points Per Dart).
CRICKET (1-8 players or 1-4 teams)
A strategic game where players aim to "close" numbers 15 through 20 and the bullseye before opponents. A number is "opened" after being hit 3 times. Points are scored from open segments. Doubles count as 2 hits, triples as 3. A segment is "closed" when an opponent hits it 3 times. The winner has the highest score after all segments are closed.
NO-SCORE CRICKET
Similar to standard Cricket, but without point scoring. The objective is to be the first to "close" all required numbers (15-20 and bullseye).
CUT THROAT CRICKET
A variation of Cricket where points are added to opponents' totals. The goal is to achieve the fewest points.
COUNT UP (1-8 players or 1-4 teams)
Score the highest points within 8 rounds. Doubles and triples count as 2 or 3 times their segment value. The highest score wins.
COUNT UP 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000
Be the first player to reach the specified point total.
CRICKET COUNT UP
Score using only numbers 15 through 20 and the inner/outer bullseye.
OVER (1-8 players or 1-4 teams)
Score higher than or equal to your previous three-dart total to keep a "life". Failing to score higher results in losing a "life". The last player with a "life" remaining wins.
UNDERS
The opposite of "Overs". Score less than or equal to your previous three-dart total to avoid losing a "life".
BIG SIX
The target is single 6. Hit 6 to save your life. Subsequent targets are determined by the opponent's throws. Failing to hit the current target within 3 darts results in losing a life. The objective is to force opponents into losing lives by setting difficult targets. The last player with a life wins.
ROUND THE CLOCK (1-8 players or 1-4 teams)
Players attempt to score in each number from 1 through 20 in sequence. The first player to reach 20 wins.
HIT-OUT
The computer selects a target. Players must hit it within 10 seconds to score. Doubles and triples count as single segments. The first player to score 15 points wins.
SHANGHAI
Over 21 rounds, players progress through numbers 1-20 and the bullseye. Score the most points per round (3 darts). Doubles and triples count. The player with the highest score after 21 rounds wins.
HALF-IT
Players start with 20 points. Score hits in the active segment. If no hits occur in a round, the score is halved. Hits add to the total. The player with the most points at the end wins.
HALF-IT Game Chart Example:
Segment | 15 | 16 | D | 17 | 18 | T | 19 | 20 | B | TOTAL |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Note: "D" indicates Double, "T" indicates Triple, "B" indicates Bullseye.
EXERCISE (1 player)
A practice game for a single player. The game ends after 30 rounds.
Caring for Your Electronic Dartboard
- Never use metal-tipped darts, as they can damage the dartboard's circuitry.
- Avoid throwing darts with excessive force to prevent tip breakage and excessive wear.
- Turn darts clockwise when pulling them from the board to ease removal and extend tip life.
- Unplug the adapter when the dartboard is not in use to prolong its life.
- Clean the dartboard with a dry cloth. Do not spill liquids or use spray cleaners, ammonia, or harsh chemicals, as these can cause permanent damage not covered by the warranty.
- Ensure the dartboard is securely mounted to prevent damage from falling.
Important Notes
- Stuck Segment: If a dart causes a segment to wedge, remove the dart or broken tip. If the issue persists, gently wiggle the segment until it is loose. The game should then resume.
- Broken Tips: If a tip breaks off and gets stuck, try removing it with pliers or tweezers. If the exposed end is not accessible, you can attempt to push the tip through to the back of the segment using a nail smaller than the hole. Be cautious not to damage the circuitry. Replacement tips are included.
Firmware Update
Download new software from www.smartdartboard.com. Unzip the file to an accessible location.
- Locate the SD card at the bottom of the dartboard next to the DC jack. Lightly press the SD card to eject it.
- Install the SD card into an SD card reader and connect it to your computer.
- Open the SD card and delete the existing file.
- Copy the new software file to the SD card.
- Safely remove the SD card from the reader once the copy is complete.
- Reinstall the SD card into the dartboard, ensuring the side with the pins faces the same direction as the dartboard face.
Dart Ranking System – MPR and PPD
The dartboard offers 3 Career Games (Cricket, 01, Count Up) for tracking player statistics and profiles. It records win/loss records and rates players based on their performance.
Cricket Rating: Determined by MPR (Marks Per Round), calculated as (Total Marks / Darts Thrown) * 3. A "MARK" is a scoring dart.
01 and Count Up Rating: Determined by PPD (Points Per Dart), calculated as Total Points / Darts Thrown. For winning players, total points are the required points to win (e.g., 301, 501). For losing players, it's based on their scored points.
The dartboard automatically calculates and maintains cumulative MPR and PPD averages in CAREER GAMES mode.
Scoring History
View cumulative scoring history and statistics by selecting PLAYER INFO from the dartboard menu, then choosing the player's name and game.
Rating System Chart
The rating system shows your skill level for Cricket and 01 games, ranging from 1 (lowest) to 18 (highest). The required PPD and MPR averages for each skill level are listed in the manual and can also be viewed on the dartboard by navigating to RATING in the menu.
