Remote Control
The remote controller can replace the functions of the 4 buttons on the main unit. Remote Distance: 8-10 meters (26.2-32.8 feet) in an open area.
Remote Controller Function Diagram:
The remote has the following buttons:
- POWER: Turns the unit on/off.
- MODE/AS: Selects the operating mode (BT, FM, USB, SD, AUX) or performs auto-scan in FM mode.
- Volume Up (+): Increases volume.
- Volume Down (-): Decreases volume.
- Play/Pause (▶||): Plays or pauses the current track.
- Next Track (►|): Skips to the next track.
- Previous Track (|◄): Skips to the previous track.
LCD Display
The LCD display shows the current mode (FM, ST, AUX, VOL, BT, USB, SD), frequency, and volume level.
Example displays:
- BT: Indicates Bluetooth mode. Flashing 'bt' means ready for pairing. Solid 'bt' means connected.
- PA: Indicates manual unpairing of Bluetooth device.
- FM: Indicates FM radio mode.
- P01-P20: Indicates preset FM stations.
- AUX: Indicates AUX input mode.
- VOL: Indicates volume adjustment.
- EQ: Indicates Equalizer settings (E1-FLAT, E2-CLASSIC, E3-POP M, E4-ROCK M, EOF-EQ OFF).
Connection Diagram
The diagram shows the amplifier connected to two loudspeakers (Left and Right), a power source (via fuse and power cable), and an FM antenna. It also illustrates connections for USB flash memory and SD memory cards.
Amplifier and Loudspeaker Mounting Installation Reminder:
- Do not install components or wiring near moving parts, ignition parts, fuel lines, or hot exhaust.
- Speakers should not be installed where they might obstruct safety features on the vehicle (e.g., lights, horns, brake levers).
Power Supply Connection
Two options are provided for connecting the power supply:
Option A: Connected to Battery through a 12 VDC SPDT Relay (Single Pole Double Throw)
This option involves using a relay (sold separately) to switch the power based on the vehicle's ignition wire.
Wiring:
- Terminal 86: Connected to Vehicle Ignition Wire (12V)
- Terminal 85: Connected to Chassis Ground
- Terminal 30: Connected to the positive terminal of the battery (via a fused wire, 7.5A)
- Terminal 87: Connected to the positive input of the amplifier
Option B: Connected to Battery through a Waterproof Switch
This option involves using a waterproof switch (sold separately) to manually turn the system on and off.
Wiring:
- The positive terminal of the battery is connected to the switch (via a fused wire, 7.5A).
- The other side of the switch is connected to the positive input of the amplifier.
- Both the amplifier and the switch should be grounded to the chassis.
Operation Instruction
First Time to Use the System
Connect the loudspeaker connectors and FM-ANT connector to the amplifier. Connect the power cable to a 12VDC power supply. The system will recall and enter the last operating mode.
Turn on/Turn off the system
Press and hold the POWER button on the front panel for more than 2 seconds to turn the system on or off. The system will memorize and recall the last operating mode (FM radio/BT/USB/SD/AUX).
Automatic shutdown for power saving
In USB/SD/AUX/BT modes, the system will automatically shut down if there is no signal input for more than 10 minutes (e.g., no AUX signal, BT not connected or no audio transfer, or USB/SD paused).
Select an Operation Mode
Press the MODE button on the front panel to cycle through the modes: FM radio, BT, USB, SD, AUX. USB and SD modes are active only when a device is connected.
Volume Control
Press the + or – buttons for more than 2 seconds in any mode to adjust the volume from 0 to 30. The "VOL" indicator will be displayed on the LCD screen during adjustment.
Bluetooth Operation
Pairing a Bluetooth device with the system
- Press the MODE button on the system and select BT mode. The LCD display shows 'bt'.
- If 'bt' is flashing, the system is ready to be paired. Search for "Boss Audio MC520B" on your mobile device.
- The system stops flashing after successful pairing.
Note: Keep devices within 25 feet for optimal Bluetooth performance.
Play music through the system controls in BT mode
Activate the music player on your paired Bluetooth device. Use the system's ▶||/|/|| buttons to control play/pause/last song/next song.
Unpair a Bluetooth device manually
In BT connected mode, press and hold the MODE button for more than 2 seconds. The LCD display shows 'PA', indicating that the system and the Bluetooth device have been unpaired.
FM Radio Operation
- Press the MODE button to select FM Radio Mode.
- In FM mode, press and hold the MODE/AS button for more than 2 seconds to enter FM auto-scan and auto-storage mode. The system scans and stores up to 20 FM stations.
- After storage, use the |◄/►| buttons to select preset stations (P01, P02, etc.).
- Press the POWER button in FM mode to mute the system output; press it again to resume.
AUX Mode Operation
- Press the MODE button to select AUX mode.
- Play music from an audio device connected to the 3.5 mm input plug.
- Use the +/- buttons for volume control.
- Press the POWER button in AUX mode to mute the system output; press it again to resume.
USB/SD MP3/WMA Automatically Playing Function
The system automatically plays MP3/WMA format songs when a USB flash memory or SD card is inserted, even when the system is OFF.
- Press the |◄ or ►| buttons to select the last or next song.
- Press the ▶|| button to pause music playback; press it again to resume.
- In USB/SD mode, press and hold the MODE button for more than 2 seconds to enter EQ settings. Short press MODE to cycle through EQ options: E1 (FLAT), E2 (CLASSIC), E3 (POP M), E4 (ROCK M), EOF (EQ OFF).
