STM32WBA55G-DK1 Discovery Kit

Data brief for the Discovery kit with STM32WBA55CG MCU

Features

Description

The STM32WBA55G-DK1 Discovery kit is a complete demonstration and development platform for the STM32WBA55CGU7 microcontroller. It features an Arm® Cortex®-M33 core with Arm® TrustZone® and mainline security extension, 1 Mbyte of flash memory, and 128 Kbytes of SRAM, along with smart peripheral resources. The kit embeds a powerful and ultra-low-power radio compliant with Bluetooth® Low Energy SIG resources, enabling a wide diversity of applications by exploiting low-power communication, the Bluetooth® SIG isochronous channel feature for audio capability, Matter as Border Router, and Zigbee®. The support for ARDUINO® Uno V3 and STMod+ connectivity provides expansion capabilities with a large choice of specialized add-on boards. The kit integrates an STLINK-V3EC embedded in-circuit debugger and programmer with a USB Virtual COM port bridge and includes the STM32CubeWBA MCU Package, offering an STM32 comprehensive software HAL library and various software examples. The STM32WBA55G-DK1 Discovery kit leverages the STM32WBA series key assets for prototyping a variety of wireless, low-energy applications in fitness, metering, industrial, or medical sectors, emphasizing state-of-the-art energy efficiency and higher security.

Ordering Information

To order the STM32WBA55G-DK1 Discovery kit, refer to Table 1. For detailed descriptions of each board, consult the user manual on the product web page. Additional information is available from the datasheet and reference manual of the target STM32.

Product marking

Stickers on the PCBs provide product information. The first sticker typically shows the product order code and identification. The second sticker displays the board reference with revision and serial number.

Example for the second sticker format: MBxxxx-Variant-yzz syywwXXXXX

Parts marked as “ES” or “E” are engineering samples and not approved for production. ST is not responsible for consequences of their use in production. Contact ST's Quality department before using engineering samples for qualification.

“ES” or “E” markings can be found on the targeted STM32 soldered on the board, or next to the evaluation tool ordering part number.

Some boards feature a specific STM32 device version with a “U” marking, allowing operation of bundled commercial stacks/libraries. This version is not available for sales. Developers needing to use the same commercial stack may need to purchase a part number specific to that stack/library, which includes royalties.

Codification

The meaning of the codification is explained in Table 2.
