KKT KOLBE SPMS05 DYS Bracket Kit for 2 Modules Installation Manual
Version: 1.1 / 230317
1. Product Introduction
The KKT KOLBE SPMS05 DYS Bracket Kit is constructed from aluminum alloy AL6005-T5 with a black electrolyzed surface, offering high corrosion resistance. It is suitable for installing solar modules in residential projects and large photovoltaic power plants. The kit features a high degree of pre-assembly, which significantly reduces installation time and costs, making it an efficient solution for PV engineering. Users are advised to read the entire manual carefully before installation.
2. Installation Tools
The following tools are required for installation:
Tool | Specification |
---|---|
String | [String] |
Electric tool | (M6/M8) |
Hexagon sleeve | (M6/M8) |
Drilling Bit | 9mm |
Tape measure | [Tape measure] |
Marking pen | [Marking pen] |
Torque wrench | (M8) |
6# hexagonal wrench | [6# hexagonal wrench] |
Monkey wrench | [Monkey wrench] |
Rubber Hammer | [Rubber Hammer] |
The required tools include a coil of string, an electric tool compatible with M6/M8 fittings, a hexagon sleeve for M6/M8, a 9mm drilling bit, a tape measure, marking pens, a torque wrench for M8 bolts, a 6# hexagonal wrench, a monkey wrench, and a rubber hammer.
3. Components
The SPMS05 DYS Bracket Kit includes the following components:
Item | Component | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | L-Profile-A | [L-Profile-A] |
2 | M8*20 Hex Bolt set | [M8*20 Hex Bolt set] |
3 | M8*25 Knob Bolt set | [M8*25 Knob Bolt set] |
4 | L-Profile-B | [L-Profile-B] |
The components consist of two L-shaped profiles (L-Profile-A and L-Profile-B), M8*20 hex bolts, and M8*25 knob bolts, used for assembling the mounting structure for two solar modules.
4. Installation Guide
4.1 Installation of L Profile-A
Attach one L-Profile-A vertically to the mounting holes on the back of the solar panel. Ensure that both L-Profile-A pieces are installed at the same level. Secure them using the M8*20 bolts.
Subsequently, attach another L-Profile-A using an M8*25 knob bolt. At this stage, the knob bolt does not need to be fully tightened.
Visual Description: Diagrams illustrate the vertical attachment of L-Profile-A to the solar panel's rear mounting holes using M8*20 bolts, with close-ups showing the connection. A second diagram shows the attachment of another L-Profile-A with an M8*25 knob bolt, with close-ups indicating it should not be fully tightened yet.
4.2 Installation of L Profile-B
Mount the L-Profile-B onto the L-Profile-A. Use the M8*25 knob bolt and align it with the appropriate holes on both profiles to set the desired tilt angle for the solar panel.
After positioning, securely tighten all M8*25 knob bolts.
Visual Description: Diagrams show the solar panel tilted on its mounting structure. Close-up views detail the connection of L-Profile-B to L-Profile-A using M8*25 knob bolts, demonstrating how different hole positions adjust the tilt angle. A final image shows the assembled structure with all knob bolts tightened.
5. Installation Notes
5.1 Safety Precautions
- (1) Be aware that the structure itself may cause physical harm.
- (2) The accessories included with the structure may also cause physical harm.
- (3) Always protect your head and eyes during the installation process.
- (4) Exercise caution and be mindful of your actions within the work area.
5.2 Stainless Steel Fasteners Notes
Stainless steel, due to its inherent ductility, behaves differently from carbon steel. Improper handling can lead to seized bolts and nuts, making them difficult or impossible to remove. To prevent this:
- (1) Reduce friction coefficient:
- Ensure that the thread surfaces are clean and free from any contaminants like ash or dirt.
- It is recommended to apply wax or a suitable lubricant, such as butter or WD-40 oil, to the bolt threads before installation.
- (2) Correct operation:
- When screwing in bolts, ensure they are inserted perpendicular to the thread axis; avoid tilting.
- Apply uniform force when tightening. The recommended tightening torque should not exceed 14.3 Nm.
- Whenever possible, use a torque wrench or a socket wrench. Avoid using adjustable or electric wrenches. If an electric wrench is necessary, reduce its speed setting.
- Avoid installation in high-temperature environments. Do not use rapid rotation, as this can cause a quick temperature rise and lead to thread seizing.
5.3 Notes after Finishing Work
- (1) Upon completion of the installation, collect all small parts, such as loose bolts or retaining plates, that may have been left on the site. This prevents them from being misplaced or missing during the final assembly stages.
- (2) In cases of inclement weather or if work must be interrupted for an extended period, please ensure all parts are tidied away properly to prevent contamination or loss.
