3.4 AV Settings Menu:

This menu provides the following audio and video settings, to be adjusted in coherence with the characteristics of the audio/video devices connected to the receiver:

  1. TV System: Defines the video signal type as PAL (50Hz, recommended) or NTSC (60Hz) or Auto (automatic).
  2. Video Resolution: Sets the video resolution for the HDMI digital audio-video output. AVVERTENZA: If the screen connected via HDMI has display problems, connect the receiver via SCART to set a compatible resolution value.
  3. Aspect Ratio: Sets the aspect ratio of the connected screen/TV (16:9 or 4:3) and the relative display mode for images with a different aspect ratio than the screen.
  4. Video Tone: Adjusts the image tone between Presets (factory values), Standard, and Vivid.
  5. Audio Output: Encodes digital audio outputs as Stereo digital (LPCM Out), forced original audio pass-through as from source (RAW), or controlled audio pass-through in PCM, Dolby Audio, or original, depending on the device connected via HDMI (Auto). AVVERTENZA: When the digital audio output is not set to LPCM Out, for audio tracks other than stereo (PCM), such as multi-channel Dolby Audio, audio decoding is delegated to the external device connected to the receiver, including volume adjustment.
  6. Audio Description / AD Volume Compensation: Audio Description (AD) allows visually impaired viewers to enjoy video content by providing an audio description of scenes in addition to the actors' normal dialogue. This service can be provided in two ways by the broadcasting station. The first, technically called 'broadcaster-mixed', involves transmitting a single audio track containing scene descriptions along with dialogue; in this case, the user simply uses the AUDIO button on the remote to select the corresponding audio track. The second method, technically called 'receiver-mixed', involves transmitting an audio track containing only the scene descriptions, in addition to the usual dialogue; in this case, the receiver is responsible for mixing the two tracks. To use this latter mode, you must enable 'Audio Description' (Active option) and optionally adjust the 'AD Volume Compensation' parameter for the description audio level relative to the main audio.
  7. HDR Video Mode: For channels with HD HDR (High Dynamic Range) video of type HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), if this function is set to Auto, the HDR-HLG video data is passed via HDMI connection directly to a TV compatible with this technology for better color visualization. The SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) option forces the HDMI video output to SDR (recommended setting for most TVs to avoid compatibility issues).
  8. HDMI CEC: This option allows you to enable/disable the receiver's CEC function. If the TV connected via HDMI to the receiver is compatible with the CEC protocol and the function is also active on the TV, you can use the TV's remote control to operate some basic receiver functions, such as power on/off and channel change or volume adjustment. AVVERTENZA: Some TVs implement a custom CEC protocol and/or have limited CEC functionality. CEC compatibility with all TVs cannot be guaranteed.

3.5 Local Time Adjustment Menu:

Adjusts the receiver's time. The following controls are offered:

  1. Time Zone Setting: Choose automatic Time Zone management (Auto option) based on information transmitted by digital terrestrial channels, or manual Time Zone adjustment by the user (Manual option).
  2. Time Zone: For manual adjustment of the time offset relative to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). For Italy, the time is 'UTC+1 hour' or 'UTC+2 hours' depending on whether it is standard or daylight saving time. NOTE: Date and Time are automatically synchronized by the receiver via information transmitted by the tuned channel.

3.6 System Menu:

3.6.1 System Information:

Lists system information of the receiver, particularly the software version in use.

3.6.2 Restore Settings (Factory Reset):

The function to restore the receiver's original factory configuration is commonly called Reset. To perform the reset, position the cursor on 'Restore Settings' and press the OK button, then confirm by pressing OK again on the 'Yes' button on screen. AVVERTENZA: Performing this operation will erase all user customizations and loaded channels. The last installed software version will be retained.

3.6.3 Timer:

Menu for programming viewing timers. Refer to section 2.7.

3.6.4 OSD Settings:

The following adjustments related to on-screen menu display are offered:

  1. OSD Duration: Duration of the channel information banner display on screen.
  2. OSD Transparency: Transparency level of menus and information banners displayed on screen.
  3. Channel Change Mode: Video transition effect when changing channels (Black screen or Still Image).
  4. Subtitle Display: Automatic activation of subtitles.

3.6.5 Update via USB:

The receiver's software can be updated via the USB port from this menu, by inserting a USB flash drive containing the appropriate software image, which the manufacturer will provide at its discretion, along with update instructions. This menu is also used to restore a channel list saved via USB (see section 3.6.6).
