Hardware Installation

Follow these steps for hardware installation:

  1. Mounting Bracket to Surface: Attach the mounting bracket to a flat surface (e.g., wall, pole) using screws. Diagram shows a bracket being secured to a vertical surface.
  2. Bracket Assembly: Assemble any parts of the mounting bracket as shown. Diagram illustrates assembling a bracket component, showing a screw passing through a washer into a threaded hole. Hands are depicted tightening the screw. A measurement of 5.5-6.4mm is indicated for a hole size.
  3. Attach Camera to Bracket: Mount the camera onto the installed bracket. Diagram shows the camera being attached to the bracket, with a curved arrow (?) indicating a rotational motion for securement.
  4. Camera Orientation: Position the camera on its mount. Diagram shows the camera body on its mount, with an arrow indicating the general direction the camera is facing.
  5. Secure Camera: Tighten screws to secure the camera to the bracket. Ensure torque does not exceed < 10 kgf-cm. Diagram illustrates attaching the camera to the bracket using screws, with a torque specification of "< 10 kgf-cm" highlighted. An alternative mounting method is also shown.
  6. Connect Cable: Connect the network cable to the camera's port. Diagram shows a network cable being plugged into the camera's connector.
  7. Grounding: Connect the grounding wire (20AWG) to the camera's grounding terminal. Diagram shows the rear of the camera with a grounding terminal and a wire labeled "20AWG" being connected. A grounding symbol (⏚) is visible.
  8. Water Protection: Ensure the camera is protected from rain and moisture. Diagram shows two warning symbols: ? (prohibiting exposure to rain) and ? (prohibiting exposure to moisture).
  9. Lens Adjustment: Adjust the camera lens for focus. Diagram shows a hand near the camera lens, indicating manual focus adjustment.
  10. Network Connection: Connect the camera to a network via a LAN cable. Use a PoE (Power over Ethernet) injector that supports IEEE 802.3af. Diagram illustrates the network setup: Camera connected via LAN cable to a PoE injector, which is then connected to a network. A laptop displaying "VIVOTEK Shepherd" software is shown, indicating device management. The Shepherd software interface shows "66 device(s) found" and a browser icon.
  11. Final Adjustment: Use the provided tool (e.g., Allen key) to adjust the camera's position and angle for the desired view. Diagram shows a hand using an Allen key to loosen a screw on the camera mount, allowing for adjustment, and then tightening it to secure the position.
  12. Field of View Adjustment: Fine-tune the camera's field of view by rotating and tilting. Two diagrams illustrate field of view adjustments: one shows rotation (?) and tilt controls (represented by circular arrows and a tilt arrow, with icons of a house, lightning, and a person), and the other shows vertical (⬆️⬇️) and horizontal (⬅️➡️) adjustment controls (with icons of a house and trees).
  13. Secure Mount: Once the desired position is set, tighten the adjustment screws to lock the camera's angle. Diagram shows a hand using an Allen key to tighten a screw on the mounting arm, securing the camera's final position.

Important Note

  • The camera is only to be connected to PoE networks without routing to outside plants.
  • For PoE connection, use only UL listed I.T.E. with PoE output.
