SMEG Refrigerator and Wine Cooler Warranty
This warranty provides coverage for SMEG refrigerators and wine coolers in the USA and Canada.
Full Two-Year Warranty
For two years from the original purchase date, SMEG USA, Inc. will repair or replace any part of the refrigerator and/or wine cooler that fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. This includes free labor and in-home service for the defective part(s). This warranty is valid for residential use properties only.
Limited Third-Through-Fifth-Year Warranty
From the third to the fifth year from the original purchase date, SMEG will repair or replace any part of the sealed refrigeration system (compressor, evaporator, condenser, drier, refrigerant, and connecting tubing) that fails during normal home use. SMEG will provide any necessary new parts free of charge. All other costs, including labor, mileage, transportation, trip charges, and diagnostic charges, are the responsibility of the owner.
This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada and applies only when the appliance is used in the country of purchase. It can be transferred.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover defects or damages not directly caused by SMEG USA or SMEG S.p.A. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Service trips to provide instructions on product use.
- Service trips where no fault is found.
- Damages occurring during transit, handling, or installation.
- Damages due to improper installation not following manufacturer's instructions or local codes/regulations.
- Damages due to failure to follow recommended care, cleaning, and maintenance instructions.
- Any repair, modification, alteration, or adjustment performed by an unauthorized person or service company.
- Product failure due to abuse, misuse, or use in a commercial/industrial environment.
- Installation with incorrect electric current, voltage, circuit breaker rating, extension cord, transformer, or power supply.
- Damage to electronic parts from power surges.
- Improper setting of any appliance control requiring service.
- Replacement of residential circuit breakers or resetting of circuit breakers.
- Replacement of light bulbs or LED lights.
- Replacement of water filters (on certain products/models) due to expiration or external issues.
- Replacement of air filters (on certain products/models) due to expiration or external issues.
- Normal wear and tear of the appliance or its cosmetic parts, unless reported to an authorized service partner within 30 days of purchase and due to material or workmanship defects.
- Substances accumulating on any part or component causing performance issues.
- Damages to adjacent objects or products installed in inaccessible cabinets. SMEG is not responsible for cabinet disassembly/reassembly.
- Food loss due to refrigeration or product failures.
- Damages caused by accident, fire, floods, or acts of God.
- Expenses for travel and transportation to locations more than 30 miles from an authorized SMEG servicer.
- Products with removed, damaged, or defaced serial numbers.
NOTE: Costs for labor, repair, or replacement parts related to these exclusions are the responsibility of the appliance owner.
Any replaced appliance or defective part becomes SMEG's property.
This warranty is not valid for appliances installed on boats, ships, yachts, or other marine vessels.
This warranty is not valid for appliances installed on aircraft (passenger, cargo, commercial, or private).
This warranty is not valid for appliances installed in RVs, house trailers, mobile homes, or other transportable residences.
The remedies described are the sole remedies provided by SMEG under this warranty or by law. SMEG is not responsible for consequential or incidental damages arising from breach of warranty.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. This warranty grants specific legal rights, and other rights may vary by state. Consult your local consumer affairs office or State Attorney General for your legal rights.
