Getting Started

1. Setup: Ensure all components are correctly assembled. Fill the water tank (A9) with fresh water.
2. Grinding Coffee: Adjust the grind setting (B2) based on the desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Long Black). Fill the bean hopper (A1) with coffee beans.
3. Tamping: Use the Smart Tamping Station (A23) to tamp the ground coffee evenly in the filter basket (C1).
4. Brewing Espresso: Insert the filter holder into the machine. Select the desired coffee function (e.g., Espresso, Long Black) using the control panel buttons (B3-B8).
5. Frothing Milk: Use the steam wand (A5) to froth milk for cappuccinos or lattes.

Operation

Brewing Coffee:

• Place a cup under the filter holder.
• Select your desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Long Black, Coffee).
• Press the corresponding button. The machine will grind the beans, tamp them, and brew the coffee.
• The pressure gauge (B17) indicates the brewing pressure. Aim for the 'Optimal Zone'.

Using the Steam Wand:

• Turn the steam knob (B9) to activate steam.
• Insert the milk jug with milk under the steam wand.
• Move the steam wand up and down to froth the milk until the desired texture is achieved.
• Turn the steam knob off.

Using the Hot Water Dispenser:

• Place a cup under the hot water dispenser (A6).
• Press the hot water button (B10).

Maintenance and Cleaning

• Daily Cleaning: Empty the drip tray (A8) and rinse the filter holder (C1). Wipe the steam wand after each use.
• Weekly Cleaning: Clean the water tank (A9) and the brew group.
• Descaling: Follow the descaling procedure using the recommended descaler (C4) when indicated by the machine or periodically as per usage. The process typically involves filling the water tank with a descaling solution and water, then running cycles through the machine.
• Grinder Cleaning: Use the cleaning brush (C7) to clean the grinder (A3) regularly.
