Introduction
Thank you for purchasing an Agilent G5589AA Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Platform. This checklist is used by the installing engineer to ensure that the platform is installed correctly, upgraded, and functioning as designed in your facility. This checklist will be completed at the end of the service and provided to you as a record of the installation.
Customer Information
Customers should provide all necessary operating supplies upon request of the engineer. The instrument is shipped with the sufficient consumables necessary to establish the functionality of the platform.
Service Engineer's Responsibilities
- Only complete/printout pages that relate to the system being installed.
- Complete empty fields with the relevant information.
- Complete the relevant checkboxes in the checklist using a [x] or tick mark [x] in the checkbox.
- Complete Not Applicable check boxes to indicate services not delivered, as needed.
- Complete the Service Review section together with the customer.
Additional Instruction Notes
- Follow the unpacking instructions specified in the Bravo Platform Unpacking Guide (part number G5523-90000), which is attached to the shipping container.
- Save the packing materials and shipping container in case you are required to move or ship the device. Packing the Bravo Platform using other materials might damage the device and void your warranty.
- The following guides are required to install the platform:
- G5589AA Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Platform Installation Guide (part number G5589-90005). This guide provides the installation workflow and step-by-step instructions for installing the platform and verifying the setup. Ensure that you follow the instructions stated in the guide.
- G5562A, G5563A Bravo Platform Safety and Installation Guide (part number G5562-90001). You will refer to this guide for directions on how to install the liquid-handling head and the Light Curtain and safety shields.

General Preparation
- Verify that the Site Preparation Checklist has been followed and fully completed. Verify that the installation location meets the site requirements.
- Unpack/verify the condition and completeness of shipment. For discrepancies, use the table below.
- Refer to Bravo Platform Unpacking Guide (part number G5523-90000) for instructions on how to unpack the Bravo device.

Installation Task #1 - Hardware Installation
Refer to the G5589AA Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Platform Installation Guide (part number G5589-90005) for instructions for the following tasks.
- [ ] Connect the Agilent-supplied computer.
- [ ] Connect the Bravo power cord, emergency-stop pendant, and Ethernet cable.
- [ ] Install the following platepads at the specified Bravo deck locations:
- 6 standard platepads (deck locations 1, 3, 5 and 7–9)
- 1 short platepad (deck location 2)
- [ ] Connect the Ethernet cable to the controlling computer.
- [ ] Install the Heating Shaking Station (deck location 4) and the Inheco STC Controller.
- [ ] Install the Filter Plate Holder (deck location 6).
- [ ] Install the Vacuum Filtration Station (deck location 2).
- [ ] Install and manually configure the ME4C NTVARIO Vacuum Pump.
- [ ] Install the liquid-handling head. For instructions, see the G5562A, G5563A Bravo Platform Safety and Installation Guide.
Installation Task #2 Software and Accessory Setup
See the Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Platform Installation Guide for the following tasks.
- [ ] Turn on computer and set up the computer LAN.
- [ ] Install the VWorks Software.
- [ ] Install the Bravo Metabolomics Workbench.
- [ ] Turn on the Bravo Platform and set up the Bravo device in the VWorks software. (Do not start up the Bravo Metabolomics Workbench until after you have set up the device in the VWorks software and set the teachpoints.)
- [ ] Turn on the Inheco STC Controller and the VARIO pump for the Vacuum Filtration Station.
- [ ] Open the VWorks device file and verify the Bravo profile settings.
- [ ] Initialize the profile in Bravo Diagnostics.
- [ ] Observe the head as it homes and moves above deck location 5.
- [ ] Verify that the indicator lights on the Bravo front panel change colors correctly.
- [ ] Verify the Bravo profile deck configuration and accessories.
- [ ] Test the accessories using the Diagnose Accessory feature to ensure proper functioning.
- [ ] Test that the emergency-stop pendant functions properly.
- [ ] Set the teachpoints for the liquid-handling head. Save the profile.
- [ ] In the Gripper tab, set the gripper y-axis offset. Test the pick-and-place feature in fast and slow mode to ensure that the gripper operation is correct. Ensure good gripping is possible and no abnormal sounds are present. Save the profile.
Installation Task #3 - Final Verification and Safety Equipment
Refer to the G5589AA Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Platform Installation Guide (part number G5589-90005) for the following:
- [ ] Secure the vacuum manifold base at deck location 2.
- [ ] Install the Light Curtain, emergency-stop pendant, and shields. See the Bravo Platform Safety and Installation Guide (part number G5562-90001).
- [ ] Close the VWorks software if it is open.
- [ ] Start up the Bravo Metabolomics Workbench.
- [ ] Test the safety equipment following the instructions in the Bravo Metabolomics Sample Prep Installation Guide.
- [ ] Perform a test run of the Reagent Transfer utility and the Off-site Plasma Metabolite Extraction application to verify the setup.
Service Review
- [ ] Attach available reports/printouts to this documentation.
- [ ] Record the time/date of installation or upgrade completion in the customer's records/logbook.
- [ ] Complete the Service Engineer Comments section below if there are additional comments.
- [ ] Review the installation/upgrade with the customer.
