Safety Recommendations:

  1. Do not touch the network cable, power adapter, or device with wet hands.
  2. Do not bend or pull the network cable.
  3. Do not damage the network cable, power adapter, or device.
  4. Use standardized power adapters and network cables.

Avoid direct sunlight exposure on the device, especially through windows or near light sources, to ensure optimal performance.

Warnings and Cautions

Warnings:

  1. For your safety, avoid contact with electrical cables, power adapters, and the device itself, especially with wet hands. Avoid unnecessary bending or stretching of power cables, as well as damage to device components. Always use certified power adapters and power cables.

Cautions:

  1. Do not strike the device with hard objects.
  2. Do not press on the device screen.
  3. Do not expose the device to aggressive chemical agents.
  4. Ensure the accuracy of screw hole diameters and depths. If holes are too large, use adhesive to secure screws.
  5. Use a damp cloth for gentle cleaning of the device surface, then wipe the surface dry with a dry cloth for cleaning the device.
  6. In case of an emergency, including unusual sounds or smells, immediately turn off the device and contact the Akuvox technical team.

Device Connection:

The device supports various connections including Induction Loop, Line Out, Door Lock (DC 30V), Exit Button, Ethernet (PoE+), RS485, and Wiegand Card Reader. It also includes connections for Relay outputs and Power Input.

Note on Induction Load: When connecting devices with inductive coils (e.g., electromagnetic locks) to the intercom, protect the intercom from voltage spikes during inductive load disconnection. It is recommended to use a 1A/200V diode (included) connected anti-parallel to the device.

Installation

Step 1: Install the mounting bracket on the wall

1.1. With integrated 86x86 mm wall box:

  • A: Secure the surface mounting box to the integrated box (86mm) using two M4x30 screws with Phillips heads.
  • B: Mark the positions of four holes using the surface mounting box.
  • C: Remove the box and drill four marked holes using a 6mm electric drill. Insert four plastic dowels into the holes.
  • D: Align the four holes of the surface mounting box with the corresponding drilled holes in the wall. Secure the surface mounting box by tightening four ST4x20 screws with Phillips heads and two M4x30 screws into the plastic dowels.

1.2. Without integrated wall box:

  • A: Position the surface mounting box flush against the wall, aligning it with the cable entry point.
  • B: Mark the positions of four holes using the surface mounting box.

Note: As shown in the figure, keep the lower edge of the square opening on the wall 10mm from the cable entry hole.

2. Flush Mount:

  • A: Cut a wall opening of size 337*122*41mm (height*width*depth).
  • B: Insert the flush mounting box into the opening and mark the hole positions. Remove the box and drill four marked holes using a 6mm electric drill. Insert four plastic dowels into the holes.
  • C: Knock out the round hole for wiring and pass the wires through the opening. Insert the flush mounting box into the opening. Ensure the edges fit snugly against the wall. To secure the flush mounting box, tighten four ST4x20 screws with Phillips heads into the plastic dowels.

Note: If the box does not fit snugly against the wall, fill the gap between the wall and the flush mounting box with cement or non-aggressive adhesive. Wait for the cement to dry before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Install the Main Unit

  • A: Insert terminal blocks into the corresponding interfaces as shown in the figure. Connect wires to the terminal blocks as needed (refer to "Device Connection"). Note: Use the included punch tool to remove the terminal block.
  • B: For easier installation, hang the device on the mounting box using the mounting bracket.
  • C: Select a suitable rubber plug (S, M, or L) for wire fixing. Remove the protective film from the selected rubber plug and attach it to the device's wire entry hole. Similarly, remove the protective film from another rubber plug of the same size and place it on the mounting plate.
  • D: Push the gasket and mounting plate into the corresponding slots. Secure the wiring cover with six M3x4 screws with Phillips heads.

Step 3: Mount the Device

  • A: Insert the plate removal tool into the small hole on the upper left side of the card reader plate to remove it.
  • B: Hang the main unit by the slots on the upper rear part onto the corresponding hooks of the wall box, then carefully lower the main unit into the box.
  • C: Press the card reader plate to return it to its original position.
  • D: Secure two M3x9.5 TORX screws in the holes. Installation is complete; please remove the protective film.

Network Topology

The device can be connected in various network configurations, typically involving a SIP Video-Phone, Monitor, Network Video Recorder, and PC. Connections are made via LAN using PoE or PoE+ for power and data.

The diagram illustrates multiple X915 devices connected to a LAN switch, utilizing PoE/PoE+ for connectivity.

Device Testing
