Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the assembly of the rear suspension enhancement kit components onto a vehicle's rear axle. It shows the orientation from the 'Wheel Side' towards the 'Front' of the vehicle, with an 'Inboard' direction indicated. A U-bolt clamp (part 9) is secured around the axle. A bottom support bracket (part 8) is attached to the axle using the U-bolt clamp and fasteners including bolts (parts 4, 5, 7) and washers/nuts (parts 10, 11). A top bracket assembly (part 1) is mounted to the vehicle's frame. The hollow rubber spring (part 3) and rubber spacer (part 2) are positioned between the top bracket and the bottom support bracket, forming the air spring unit. Specific fasteners like M10 x 30, M10 x 40, and M10 x 65 bolts, along with M10 split lock washers and 3/8" Nylock locknuts, are used for assembly.
NOTES
- Check that brake line or brake cable locations do not interfere with air spring.
- If necessary, use rubber washer #2 and bolt #5 to achieve desired ride height.
- Do not exceed vehicle manufacturer's recommended axle weight rating.
- Check your vehicle's owner's manual and do not exceed the maximum load listed for your vehicle.
CLEARANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Rear SES Kits for Pick-Ups and Vans should have a 1/2" to 1-1/2" gap between the rubber spring and contact point when empty. A partial load, or vehicle accessories will reduce or eliminate the gap. Front SES kits are usually in full contact. Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks, Trailers and Motorhomes will be in constant contact, and have no gap.
