Working temperature: -20~+70℃
NOTE: Recommend mounting distance between sensors should be more than 2m to prevent false triggering.
The sensor is an active motion detector that emits a high-frequency electromagnetic wave (5.8GHz) and receives its echo. The sensor detects changes in the echo from movement within its detection zone. A microprocessor triggers the switch light ON command. Detection is possible through doors, glass panels, and thin walls.
NOTE: The high-frequency output of this sensor is <0.2mW, approximately 1% of the transmission power of a mobile telephone or a microwave oven.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the sensor components including detection area, daylight sensor, LED indication, antenna module, installation hole, and power supply output.
Installation & Wiring
IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION AND RETAIN THIS LEAFLET FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
SECTION 1 INSTALLATION & WIRING
1.0 ENSURE THAT THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IS SWITCHED OFF COMPLETELY BEFORE INSTALLING OR SERVICING THIS PRODUCT.
The sensor has a 4-wire electrical interface: Nx2 (neutral / 220-240VAC), L (phase / 220-240VAC), L' (switched phase / output).
Wiring for ON-OFF function with multiple control gears:
Connect several standard control gears with 1 sensor using the following wiring: N, L, N, L'.
Diagram Description: A wiring diagram illustrates connecting the sensor to control gear using N, L, N, L' terminals for a standard ON-OFF function.
1.1 Suitability and Placement:
This sensor is suitable for indoor use and designed for installation up to a maximum height of 6m. When used with a dimming ballast/driver, keep the sensor antenna module at least 80mm away from the ballast/driver and lamp filament.
Settings
SECTION 2 SETTINGS
Detection range:
This is set by DIP switches at the sensor and determines the effective range. Reducing sensitivity also narrows the detection range.
DIP Switch Setting | Detection Range |
---|---|
I | 100% |
II | 75% |
III | 50% |
IV | 30% |
V | 10% |
Hold time:
This is set by DIP switches and determines the time the fitting remains at 100% level after motion detection. The walk test setting is useful for installation.
DIP Switch Setting | Hold Time |
---|---|
I | Walk test mode 5s |
II | 30s |
III | 1 minute |
IV | 5 minutes |
V | 10 minutes |
VI | 20 minutes |
VII | 30 minutes |
Daylight sensor:
This setting, adjusted via DIP switches, determines the lux level at which the 100% light output is held off when sufficient daylight is present.
DIP Switch Setting | Lux Level |
---|---|
I | Disabled |
II | 50 lux |
III | 20 lux |
IV | 5 lux |
V | 2 lux |
Note: In disabled mode, lamps will always be on with motion detected at 100% light output, even in bright daylight.
Function
SECTION 3 FUNCTION
Zero-cross relay operation: The sensor is designed to switch the load ON/OFF at the zero-cross point of the waveform. This ensures minimal current passes through the relay contact point, maximizing the relay's load capacity and lifespan.
Trouble Shooting
SECTION 4 TROUBLE SHOOTING
MALFUNCTION | CAUSE | REMEDY |
---|---|---|
The load will not work | Incorrect light-control setting selected Load faulty Mains switch OFF |
Adjust setting Replace load Switch ON |
The load is always on | Continuous movement in the detection zone | Check zone setting |
The load is on without any identifiable movement | The sensor is not mounted for reliably detecting movement Movement occurred, but not identified by the sensor (e.g., movement behind wall, small object movement in immediate lamp vicinity etc.) |
Securely mount enclosure Check zone setting |
The load will not work despite movement | Rapid movements are being suppressed to minimise malfunctioning or the detection radius is too small | Check zone setting |
Additional Information
With Tridonic switchDIM ballast / driver (Excel ballast/driver, corridor function), this sensor can also achieve tri-level dimming control.
Diagram Description: Diagrams show wiring for Tridonic switchDIM ballast/driver connections for tri-level dimming control.
1.1 Sensor Suitability: This sensor is suitable for indoor use and designed for installation up to Max. 6m in height. Ensure the sensor antenna module is kept at least 80mm away from the ballast/driver and lamp filament when used with dimming ballast/driver.
