User Manual & Maintenance Guide
AL-KO QUALITY FOR LIFE
Introduction to AL-KO Enduro X
The AL-KO Enduro X is the pinnacle of off-road performance from AL-KO's Independent Trailing Arm Suspension range. It is engineered for adventure, designed for comfort, control, and durability across any terrain, including extreme off-road and outback roads. This system empowers you to conquer challenging terrain while delivering comfort and handling when you need it most.
Engineered for Adventure
The AL-KO Enduro X is meticulously designed, manufactured, and rigorously tested in Australia for Australian conditions. It undergoes an extreme testing program at dedicated research and development facilities to ensure durability, control, and comfort across diverse terrains.
Benefits of Independent Trailing Arm Suspension
Keeps tyres in constant contact with the ground, suitable for both on-road and off-road applications.
Low unsprung weight provides less inertia, allowing the suspension to follow road undulations easily and reducing loads on the chassis.
Increases ground clearance in the centre of the vehicle, facilitating the fitting of ancillaries like water tanks.

Detailed Maintenance Checks
Tyre pressure: Ensure tyre pressures are set correctly for prolonged tyre life.
Wheel Nuts: Whenever wheels are removed and refitted, the wheel nut torque should be checked. Fit wheel nuts by hand to ensure correct fitment before tightening to the specified torque.
Wheel bearings & cups: Every time the wheel hub is removed, the wheel bearings must be checked and adjusted.
Brake adjustment: Adjust park cable (where fitted) to allow sufficient slack for full suspension travel.
Suspension mounting bolts M16 (190 Nm): When suspensions are removed and refitted, check bolt torque. Always use a calibrated torque wrench and new nyloc nuts for every installation.
Shock absorber mounting bolts M12 (85-90 Nm): When suspensions are removed and refitted, check bolt torque. Always use a calibrated torque wrench, new nyloc nuts, and ensure existing washers are reinstalled correctly.
Shock absorber visual check: Slight sweating or a small amount of fluid around the fluid-filled tube is normal. Defective shock absorbers must be replaced in pairs. Ensure correct mounting bolt torque and use new nyloc nuts for installation.
Suspension bush: AL-KO Enduro Suspension bushes are lubricated during initial installation and are maintenance-free thereafter. Re-greasing at periodic inspections is optional but not mandatory.
Wheel alignment: Ensure recommended toe & camber values are set for prolonged tyre life. Adjustment should be performed by a qualified technician.
Stub Mounting Bolts M14 (180 Nm): When the stub axle is removed and refitted, check nut torque. Fit nuts by hand to ensure correct fitment before tightening to 180 Nm.
Axle Pivot Suspension Bushes
Lubrication is performed during assembly and is not required on an ongoing basis. Bushings can be subject to external damage and should be visually checked periodically for impact damage. Regreasing or internal inspection is only necessary if noises or free play are evident.
Bump Stops
Bump stops are critical components and require visual checks at regular service intervals. Inspect for:
Deformation or compression
Cracking around the contact area
Splitting in the body
Alignment to ensure correct contact angles
If any of these conditions are present, it is recommended to replace the bump stops on both sides.
Wheel Alignment Toe & Camber
The Enduro Suspension is set with an appropriate "zero load" toe-in and camber during manufacture. Incorrect adjustment can affect tyre wear. Before contacting an AL-KO Recommended Service Centre, check the following parameters:
RV or trailer laden weight (must not exceed manufacturer's trailer plate rating)
Correct tyre inflation pressure
Correct tyre capacity for the load being carried
Wheel balancing
Tyre condition
Wheel bearing adjustment
