DocumentDocumentInstallation Instructions Models ED-32, ED-33(R) and ED-35(R) System 3 Control Panel Doors (For indoor use only in dry environments) INTRODUCTION The ED-32, ED-33(R) and ED-35(R) Doors from Siemens Industry, Inc., mount on EB-32, EB-33 and EB-35 back boxes, respectively. Door models ending in R are red, those without an R are black. The door is mounted with a sag resistant, steel piano hinge and is fitted with a key locking arrangement. Left hand or right hand mounting can be made on all enclosures as desired. Each door contains full-width horizontal viewing slots, to permit visual identification of each row of modules and control panel for the various functions served by the system. The inside of the door is fitted with brackets to accommodate blank face plates to cover those positions in the back box not occupied by the control panel or modules. Enclosures are shipped unassembled (back box and door cover) to facilitate installation. All that is required is to bolt the complete system assembly in position in the back box and mount the hinged door cover assembly. INSTALLATION Using the hardware provided, attach two of the screws and lock washers to the side of the back box opposite from the side where you want the door to open. Hang the door on the screws, then tighten the screws securely. Install screws and lock washers in the remaining holes on the side of the enclosure where the door is being mounted and tighten them securely. #8 WASHER #8 HEX NUT GUIDE PIN GROUNDING STRAP 14AWG #6 HEX NUTS #6X32 STUDS ENCLOSURE DOOR #6 SCREW #6 WASHER (DISCARD UNUSED Figure 1 HARDWARE) Installing System 3 Door and Guide Pin Install the guide pin on the inside top of the door as shown in Figure 1. Install the grounding strap by placing the lug on one end of the strap over the #6x32 stud on the door and the lug on the other end of the strap on the #6x32 stud on the inside of the enclosure. Secure the lugs in place with the two #6 hex nuts provided. Refer to Figure 1. Siemens Industry, Inc.
