Overview of Renogy Product Warranties

Part 1: Batteries and Power Stations Warranty

General Warranty Terms

Products manufactured by Renogy (the "Warrantor") are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service from the date of purchase. This limited warranty covers substantial defects in material, workmanship, and performance.

If a Renogy product fails to meet this Limited Warranty and power loss is determined by the Warrantor's technical support team, the Warrantor will repair or replace the defective product(s) with new or refurbished product(s) that are compatible with the original and have equal or greater power rating. If repair or replacement is not possible, a refund may be issued.

1. Prorated Warranty

Prorated warranted products from Renogy are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service from the date of purchase. This warranty covers substantial defects in material, workmanship, and performance, with exchange costs for replacements detailed below for prorated warranty items.

Please Note: Failure to properly install or operate the battery will void the warranty. Refer to the product page on Renogy's website for detailed installation and operation instructions.

3. Exclusions and Limitations for Batteries

Batteries are not intended for use as primary or backup power sources for life support systems or medical equipment, or any use where battery failure could lead to injury, loss of life, or catastrophic property damage, without the Warrantor's involvement in system design and express written authorization. Such use is at the Purchaser's own risk, and the Warrantor disclaims all liability arising from it. The Warrantor reserves the right to refuse service for batteries used in these capacities and disclaims liability for such refusal.

The warranty does not cover failures or damages resulting from: Normal wear and tear; Improper installation, operation, and storage; Insufficient ventilation; Inadequate maintenance; Incorrect handling and transportation; Unauthorized repair, modifications, conversions, and additions; Intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, and neglect; Contamination with hazardous substances, radiation, and water (unless waterproof by Warrantor); Unusual electrical stress, including power surges, uncontrolled voltages/currents, excessive/deficient energy supply, system harmonics, and lighting; Exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures; Force majeure events (fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, severe weather, wars, acts of terrorism).

The warranty is void in the following specific cases: Battery operation outside specified temperature range (per user manual/datasheet); Battery bank configured with mixed makes/models or incorrect series/parallel connections; Battery terminals not tightened to specification (per user manual/datasheet); Battery charged with non-compliant charging algorithms/charger settings (per user manual/datasheet); Battery not properly protected from inrush currents with circuit breakers, fuses, or disconnects; Battery directly connected to DC motors without appropriate safety protection, motor controllers, and motor voltage clamping systems; Battery left unattended for extended periods after depletion; Battery not maintained or stored according to user manual/datasheet; Battery subjected to excess vibration due to inadequate mounting; Damaged or altered communication ports on the battery (if applicable); Communication ports on the battery (if applicable) not connected according to user manual; Battery disassembled, altered, or repaired without express written authorization from the Warrantor.

To provide warranty service, the Warrantor may require the ability to upgrade battery firmware or access logged data. Failure to install firmware upgrades or provide logged data upon request will void the warranty.

If the Warrantor determines that a product problem is not due to a manufacturing defect or does not qualify for warranty repair, the Purchaser will be responsible for all repair, replacement, and transportation costs. The Warrantor is not responsible for expenses related to installation/removal, electrical system tests, loss of time, or other incidental damages.

Part 2: Solar Panels and Solar Kits Warranty

General Conditions for Warranty Claims

For Workmanship and Material Warranty

If a Purchaser experiences defects in materials and workmanship under normal application, such as manufacturing defects or material failures, they should contact the Warrantor's technical support team. Technicians will provide testing procedures, repair instructions, or request shipment of the product(s) to the technical support team. Warranty service will be initiated based on the outcome.

This warranty extends only to the original Purchaser. If the product is gifted or resold, the customer must claim warranty through the original Purchaser, requiring original order information. For orders shipped within the US, the Purchaser is responsible for additional shipping costs outside the US.

The Purchaser's sole remedy and the Warrantor's entire liability for warranty breach is to replace the product(s) or component parts, or in some cases, refund the product(s) cost. This warranty does not cover labor. Products serviced or replaced under warranty do not receive extended warranties; they adhere to the original warranty period. No employee, agent, or dealer is authorized to provide warranties on behalf of the Warrantor not expressly stated in this limited warranty.

Exclusions and Limitations (Repeated for emphasis and completeness)

The warranty does not cover failures and damages resulting from normal wear and tear, improper installation, operation, and storage, insufficient ventilation, inadequate maintenance, incorrect handling and transportation, unauthorized repair, modifications, conversions and additions, intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, and neglect, contamination with hazardous substances, radiation, and water (unless stated otherwise by the Warrantor to be waterproof), unusual electrical stress including power surges, uncontrolled voltages and currents, excessive or deficient energy supply, system harmonics, and lighting, exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures, and force majeure including fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, severe weather, wars, and acts of terrorism. If the Warrantor determines that the problem with the product(s) is not due to a manufacturing defect in the Warrantor's workmanship or materials, or otherwise does not qualify for warranty repair, then the Purchaser will be responsible for all costs incurred by the Warrantor necessary to repair, replace and transport the product(s). The Warrantor will not be responsible for expenses related to installation/removal, electrical system tests, loss of time or other expenses considered incidental damages.

Warranty claims must be asserted in writing to the Warrantor, including a copy of the invoice and a description of the defect/loss of performance within the warranty period. The Warrantor will not accept returns without a previous written request. The Warrantor will provide the Purchaser with an RMA number and the location for returning defective product(s) efficiently. Products returned for valid warranty service will be shipped at the Warrantor's expense and risk. The Purchaser must return the product(s) (or authorized defective component parts) within fifteen (15) days after RMA number issuance.

The Warrantor is not obligated to accept returned product(s) without a valid RMA number. All parts replaced by the Warrantor become the Warrantor's property. The Warrantor will make reasonable efforts to repair or replace defective product(s) within thirty (30) days of receipt. If a warranty claim is invalid, the Purchaser will be charged at the Warrantor's current rates for services and incurred expenses. If valid, the Warrantor will ship the repaired or replaced product(s) to the Purchaser at its cost.

Limitation of Liability

Renogy, its affiliates, or suppliers will not be liable or responsible for any loss of use, business interruption, lost profits, lost data, or indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind, regardless of the form of action (contract, tort including negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if advised of such damage possibility.

Some states may not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply. Neither Renogy nor its affiliates or suppliers will be held liable or responsible for damage or loss to any items or products connected to, powered by, or otherwise attached to the Product. The total cumulative liability to the Purchaser, from all causes of action and theories of liability, will be limited to and will not exceed the purchase price of the Product paid by the Purchaser. This warranty grants specific legal rights, and Purchasers may have other legal rights varying by state.
