1. INVERTER VOLTRONIC VMIII Configuration
To ensure correct operation, it is necessary to change parameter 5 in the Inverter menu to the 'LIB' configuration. This setting is typically found under battery protocol settings.
Each battery module features 4 DIP (Dual Inline Package) switches. These switches must be configured based on the number of battery modules connected to the system. The switches are typically labeled with '1=ON' and '0=OFF'.
DIP Switch Configuration Table:
Address | Dial switch position | Explain | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
#1 | #2 | #3 | #4 | ||
1 | ON | OFF | OFF | OFF | Pack1/Master |
2 | OFF | ON | OFF | OFF | Pack2 |
3 | ON | ON | OFF | OFF | Pack3 |
4 | OFF | OFF | ON | OFF | Pack4 |
... | ... | ... | ... | ... | ... |
Important Note: Any modifications to the DIP switches must be performed while the battery is turned off.
2. WIRING Configuration (Voltronic VMIII)
The connection between the battery group and the inverter is established using an RJ45 communication cable. This cable is specifically designed with 8 internal wires, each color-coded. The battery unit contains the communication cable with its corresponding labeling.
Cable Configuration:
The cable connects to the RS485-2 port on the inverter, which is identified as port number 6 in the system's physical layout.
Wiring Diagram Description:
The RJ45 cable connects the Inverter to the Battery. The standard configuration for RS485 communication involves specific pin assignments:
- Inverter RS485A (typically Pin 3) connects to Battery RS485A (Pin 3).
- Inverter RS485B (typically Pin 4) connects to Battery RS485B (Pin 4).
- Inverter communication pins (e.g., Pin 5) connect to corresponding battery communication pins.
- Other pins (e.g., Inverter Pin 6 to Battery Pin 6) are used for system communication.
Inverter Ports: The inverter features multiple ports, including those for addressing (ADDR) and RS485 communication. Port 6 is designated as the RS485-2 communication port.
3. Configuration Without Communications (Voltronic MKS / VMIII)
For a correct configuration without relying on communication between the battery and inverter, four specific parameters must be adjusted via the inverter's display:
Parameter Settings:
Parameter | Configuration |
---|---|
5 | USE |
26 | 56.8 V |
27 | 56.4 V |
29 | 43.2 V |
A. DIP Configuration (Voltage-Based Operation):
When the battery operates based on voltage readings, direct communication between battery modules is not required, and a specific DIP configuration is not mandatory for this mode.
1. Connection of the Batteries:
Each power cord is rated for a maximum of 120 A. For systems requiring more than two batteries, a new, appropriately rated cable should be connected to the inverter. For a 5 kW inverter, a single cable is generally sufficient to remain within the maximum recommended current limits.
