General Care and Precautions

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your Casio watch, please observe the following precautions:

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
  • Handle the watch with care and avoid dropping it, even though it is designed for active daily use.
  • Do not fasten the watch strap too tightly; ensure a finger can fit between your wrist and the strap.
  • For cleaning, use a dry, soft cloth. If necessary, use a soft cloth dampened with a water solution of mild neutral detergent. Never use volatile agents like gasoline, thinners, spray cleaners, etc.
  • When not in use, store the watch in a dry place.
  • Prevent exposure to gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions with these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
  • Some models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Clean these straps carefully to avoid damaging the graphics.

Important Information

Battery

The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power, such as a dim display, replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.

Water Resistance

For all categories of watches, avoid the following actions while underwater:

  • Pressing buttons.
  • Adjusting the crown.

If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely.

Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.

Care for Plastic Straps

A white powdery substance may appear on plastic straps. This substance is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity, can damage, break, or crack plastic straps. To ensure a long service life, wipe plastic straps clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.

Care for Fluorescent Cases and Straps

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fading. Wipe off any moisture from the watch surface as soon as possible. Contact with other wet surfaces can also lead to discoloration. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

Water Resistance Table

Watches are classified into five levels (I to V) based on their water resistance. Consult the table below to understand the appropriate usage for your watch's rating:

RatingCase MarkingSplash, Rain, WashingSwimming, Skin DivingSCUBA Diving
I(No Mark)NoNoNo
IIWATER RESISTANTYesNoNo
III50 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNo
IV100 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes
V200 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes
V300 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes

Notes:

  • Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the paint.
  • Condensation may form on the inside of the glass during significant temperature changes. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
  • CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, nor does it accept claims from third parties.
  • Rating I: Not water resistant. Avoid all moisture.
  • Rating II (WR): Water resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water is acceptable.
  • Rating III (5 Bar/50 meters): Can withstand water pressure equivalent to 5 Bar; suitable for showering and brief swimming.
  • Rating IV (10 Bar/100 meters): Suitable for regular swimming and skin diving.
  • Rating V (20 Bar/200 meters): Suitable for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).

Watch Care

  • Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
  • The rubber gasket, which protects the watch from water and dust, should be replaced every 2-3 years.
  • If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
