Overview

The R1520LG is a new generation Industrial-grade LoRa gateway. It supports 4G/3G/2G cellular networks, Wi-Fi, and PoE-PD (Power over Ethernet - Powered Device) capabilities. This provides a robust and reliable connectivity solution for industrial applications. Featuring an integrated Chirpstack LoRa network server and a cutting-edge LoRa chip, this high-performance 8-channel gateway offers outstanding performance in high-traffic management and significant advantages in low power consumption.

Front View

The front panel features:

  • Power Input: V+ and V- terminals for power connection.
  • LED Indicators: Status lights for LORA, RUN, MDM, USR, and WLAN.
  • USB 2.0 Port: For USB connectivity.
  • Ethernet Ports: ETH0 (PoE) and ETH1 for network connections.
  • Terminal Blocks: TX, RX, GND, A, B, GND for serial communication (RS232/RS485).
  • RS232 Port: For serial communication.
  • RS485 Port: For serial communication.

Back View

The back panel features:

  • AUX Button: Auxiliary function button.
  • MAIN Button: Main function button.
  • RST Button: Reset button.
  • SIM Slot: Two SIM card slots (SIM 1, SIM 2).
  • LoRa Antenna Connector: For connecting the LoRa antenna.
  • Wi-Fi Antenna Connector: For connecting the Wi-Fi antenna.

4. Reset Button

FunctionOperation

Restore to default configurationPress and hold the RST button for 5-10 seconds under operating status. The RUN light flashes quickly, then release the RST button; the device will restore to the default configuration.

Hardware Installation

  1. SIM Card Installation

    Insert the SIM cards into the device and paste the SIM card cover sticker if needed.

  2. Antenna Installation

    Rotate the antennas into the appropriate antenna connectors.

  3. Terminal Block Installation

    Insert the 2x3PIN terminal blocks into the interfaces connector. Then, connect devices or sensors to the gateway using wires via corresponding interfaces, such as RS232 and RS485.

  4. Power Supply Installation

    Insert the power supply cord into the power connector.

  5. Connect the router to the computer

    Connect the gateway's Ethernet port (ETHO or ETH1) to your computer using a standard Ethernet cable.

  6. DIN Rail Mounting

    Use 3 M3 screws to fix the DIN rail to the device, then hang the DIN rail on the mounting bracket.

  7. Wall Mounting

    Use 3 M3 screws to fix the wall mounting bracket to the device.

Login to the Device

  1. Connect the gateway's Ethernet port to a PC

    Connect the gateway's Ethernet port to a PC with a standard Ethernet cable.

  2. Configure the PC with a static IP address

    Before logging in, manually configure the PC with a static IP address on the same subnet as the gateway address. Click and configure "Use the following IP address".

  3. Access the gateway's web interface

    To enter the gateway's web interface, type http://192.168.0.1 into the URL field of your Internet browser.

  4. Use login information

    Use the login information shown on the product label when prompted for authentication.

  5. Web interface overview

    After logging in, the home page of the web interface is displayed. You can view system information and perform configuration on the device.

  6. Automatic APN selection

    The automatic APN selection is ON by default. If you need to specify your own APN, please go to the menu Interface > Cellular > Advanced Cellular Setting > General Settings to finish the specific setting.

Safety Information

General

  • The router generates radio frequency (RF) power. Use caution regarding RF interference and regulations.
  • Do not use the router in aircraft, hospitals, petrol stations, or places where cellular products are prohibited.
  • Ensure the router does not interfere with nearby equipment, such as pacemakers or medical equipment. Keep the router's antenna away from computers, office equipment, and home appliances.
  • An external antenna must be connected for proper operation. Only use approved antennas with the router. Contact an authorized distributor for approved antennas.

RF Exposure

This device meets the official requirements for exposure to radio waves and is designed not to exceed emission limits set by authorized agencies. The device must be used with a minimum separation of 30 cm from a person's body to ensure compliance with RF exposure guidelines. Failure to observe these instructions could result in RF exposure exceeding applicable limits.

Note: Some airlines may permit the use of cellular phones while the aircraft is on the ground and the door is open.

[Recycling symbol] The product should not be mixed with general household waste but must be sent to separate collection facilities for recovery and recycling.

[CE conformity mark] The product meets the requirements of the applicable EU directives.
