Samsung LED TV Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information for setting up and operating your Samsung LED TV. It covers accessories, safety instructions, connections, remote control functions, and warranty details.

Important Note on Cables: Ensure correct cable orientation before plugging in to avoid damaging TV ports. Do not plug cables in upside down or in the wrong direction.
Ventilation: Ensure at least 4 inches (approx. 10 cm) of space around the TV for proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Warning! Please read the following safety instructions carefully before using the product.
CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO NOT OPEN. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
General Safety Precautions:
- Do not block ventilation slots.
- Do not place near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Do not place water-containing vessels on the apparatus.
- Do not expose to rain or place near water. Unplug and contact an authorized dealer if wet.
- Unplug the power cord before cleaning.
- Dispose of batteries properly according to local regulations.
- Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords.
- Route power cords to prevent damage.
- Unplug from the wall outlet during lightning storms or when unused for extended periods.
- Ensure the DC adaptor voltage matches the local electrical supply.
- Never insert metallic objects into open parts.
- Do not touch the inside of the apparatus; only qualified technicians should open it.
- Ensure the power cord is firmly inserted. Pull the plug, not the cord, when removing. Do not touch with wet hands.
- If the apparatus operates abnormally (unusual sounds or smells), unplug immediately and contact an authorized dealer.
- Unplug the power cord if the TV will be unused or left unattended, especially with children present.
- Accumulated dust can cause electric shock or fire. Contact an authorized service center for installation in dusty or extreme environments.
- Use a properly grounded plug and receptacle.
- To turn off completely, pull the power plug from the wall socket. Ensure the plug is readily accessible.
- Do not allow children to hang onto the product.
- Store accessories safely out of reach of children.
- Do not install in unstable locations.
- Do not drop or shock the product. Contact a service center if damaged.
- Clean with a soft cloth dipped in water. Do not use chemicals.
- Do not expose to dripping or splashing.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire, short circuit, disassemble, or overheat them. Replace with the same or equivalent type only.
- WARNING: KEEP CANDLES OR OPEN FLAMES AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT TO PREVENT FIRE SPREAD.

4. Getting Started
Provide Ventilation for Your TV
Maintain at least 4 inches (approx. 10 cm) between the TV and other objects for proper ventilation. Failure to do so may result in fire or product issues due to overheating.
Use only Samsung-provided parts for stands or wall-mounts to avoid injury or product malfunction.
Be cautious as some parts may become hot during operation.
Installation with a stand
Ensure 4 inches of clearance on all sides.

Installing Batteries into the Remote
Match battery polarity (AAA size) to symbols in the battery compartment.
Note:
- Use the remote within 23 feet (approx. 7 meters) of the TV.
- Bright light may affect remote performance. Avoid use near fluorescent or neon lights.
- Remote control appearance may vary by model.
5. The Remote Control
Familiarize yourself with the remote control functions, including POWER, SOURCE, VOL, CH, MENU, TOOLS, ENTER, CH LIST, RETURN, and EXIT.
The remote features Braille points on the Power, Channel, and Volume buttons for visually impaired users.
- POWER: Turns the TV on and off.
- SOURCE: Displays and selects available video sources.
- VOL: Adjusts the volume.
- CH: Changes channels.
- PRE-CH: Selects additional digital channels from the same station (e.g., 54-3).
- MUTE: Temporarily cuts off sound.
- Remote Control Light: Turns the illuminated buttons on/off. Using with light on reduces battery life.
- CH LIST: Displays the channel list.
- MENU: Displays the main on-screen menu.
- MEDIA.P: Displays Media Play.
- SLEEP: Automatically shuts off the TV at a preset time.
- TOOLS: Quickly select frequently used functions.
- INFO: Displays information on the TV screen.
- ENTER and Direction buttons: Navigate and select menu items and values.
- RETURN: Returns to the previous menu.
- EXIT: Exits the menu.
- P.SIZE: Selects picture size.
- MTS: Selects stereo, mono, or Separate Audio Program (SAP).
- CC: Controls the caption decoder.
- Buttons B, C, D: Use according to on-screen directions or for specific features.
6. Making Connections
Connect your TV to an antenna or cable, then connect peripherals. Connect the power cord last.
If using HDMI, Component, or Composite connections for a cable/satellite box, an antenna/cable connection to the ANT IN jack is not required.
- For best quality, use HDMI cables for digital devices.
- If an older HDMI version is used, video/audio may not work. Consult the device manufacturer for upgrades.
- Use only certified HDMI cables.
- PC/DVI AUDIO IN is not supported.
- Use HDMI IN 2 (DVI) for HDMI to DVI connections.
- For PCs with DVI out, use an HDMI to DVI cable and the PC's speakers for audio.
- Connect set-top boxes to HDMI IN 1 (STB) for optimal performance.
Connection Diagrams:
Refer to the diagrams provided in the original document for visual representation of connecting various devices like antennas, cable boxes, Blu-ray players, DVD players, AV devices, and digital audio systems using HDMI, Component, AV, and Optical connections. Diagrams show connections for TV side panels and rear panels, including power input.
7. Initial Setup
When turning on the TV for the first time, follow the on-screen prompts to configure basic settings. Ensure the TV is connected to an antenna or cable before powering on if not using a cable/satellite box.
8. Changing the Input Source
Press the SOURCE button on the remote and use the ▲/▼ buttons to select the desired input source (TV, AV, Component, HDMI1, HDMI2/DVI). Connected inputs will be highlighted.
Edit Name: Associate device names with input sources by pressing the TOOLS button when the Source List is displayed. This simplifies source selection.
9. Accessing and Using the Main Menu
The Main menu allows control over picture, sound, channel configuration, energy usage, and more. Press the MENU button to access it.
Use the ▲/▼ buttons to navigate categories (Picture, Sound, Channel, etc.) and the ► or ENTER button to select options and adjust values. Press RETURN or ◄ to go back.
10. Using the TV's Controller (Panel Key)
The TV's controller, a joystick-like button on the rear right side, allows TV control without the remote. Push it in directions to navigate and press up to select. Press and hold for over 1 second to close menus.
Controller Functions:
- Forwards/Backwards/Left/Right: Navigate menus.
- Up (Press): Select.
- Up (Press & Hold >1 sec): Close Menu, Media Play List, or Source List.
11. Warranty Information
SAMSUNG BRAND PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL PURCHASER
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a specified period, varying by product type (e.g., 1 Year Parts and Labor for LCD/LED TVs 37” and Larger). Commercial use has a 90-day warranty.
Warranty Period: Begins on the original date of purchase and is valid only for products purchased and used in the United States.
Service: Contact SAMSUNG for problem determination and service procedures. Service must be performed by an authorized SAMSUNG service center. Proof of purchase (dated bill of sale) is required.
Repair/Replacement: SAMSUNG will repair or replace defective products with new or reconditioned parts/products at no charge. Replaced items become SAMSUNG property.
In-Home Service: Available for certain products at Samsung’s discretion. Product must be unobstructed. If repair cannot be completed in-home, removal and return to a service center may be necessary. Transportation costs may apply.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover damage from shipment, delivery, installation, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, unauthorized repairs, incorrect electrical supply, or failure to follow operating/cleaning instructions. It also does not cover reception problems, signal interference, normal LED aging, or burned-in images.
Limitations: SAMSUNG is not liable for loss of revenue, profits, or consequential damages. Recovery is limited to the product's purchase price. Purchaser assumes risk for damage/injury not directly caused by SAMSUNG's negligence.
Transferability: This warranty is non-transferable and is the exclusive remedy.
State Variations: Some states may have different limitations on implied warranties or incidental/consequential damages.

Important Warranty Information Regarding Television Format Viewing:
To prevent uneven aging and permanent burned-in images on LED panels, limit viewing of stationary images, graphics, and dark bars (letterboxing) to no more than 15% of total weekly viewing time. Vary programming and primarily display full-screen moving images. Using picture sizing features to display formats as full screen is recommended. Uneven aging or burned-in images due to format selection are not covered by the Samsung limited warranty.
