RACKMOUNTING
Wheninstalledinarack,thefourmountingfeetonthebottomofthechassis mayberemovedifneeded.Savethefeetincasetheamplifierisevermoved backtoashelfmountedtypeofinstallationsothattheymaybereattached. Donotusetheamplifieronashelforothersurfacewithoutthemounting feetbeinginstalled.Theyhelpprovideventilationspaceatthebottomof theamplifier.Leaveatleast2"(5cm)ofclearancearoundtheamplifierfor ventilation.

OVERVIEW
Whenconnectingtheloudspeakerwires,besuretoobserveproperpolarity. ThepositiveandnegativeterminalsontheRussoundDSeriesamplifiermust correspondwiththepositiveandnegativeterminalsatboththeleftandright loudspeakers.Thisisalsotrueofthepowerconnectionsattheloudspeaker sideoftheconnection.
Strip1/8"(about3mm)fromeachoftheconductorsforboththeleftand rightloudspeakerconnectionsandinsertthemintotheremovablescrew downterminal,makingsuretomatchtheproperpolarityofeachconnection. Tightenthescrewdownconnectionssecurelyandmakesurethatthereare noexposedstrandsthatmightcauseashortcircuit.
BRIDGINGLOUDSPEAKERCONNECTION
Pleasenotethatallwiringchangesandchangestothesettingsswitcheson therearoftheRussoundDSeriesamplifiershouldbedonewiththeamplifier poweredoffbyremovingthepowercordfromtherearoftheamplifier.
TheRussoundDSeriesamplifierincludesapowerfulfeaturecalled "Bridging".Bridgingcombines2adjacentoutputchannelstoformasingle, higherpowermonooutput.Itisperfectforlargerspaces,andespeciallyfor anyoutdooraudiozoneswherehigherpowerisrequired.
COOLINGFAN
TheDSeriesamplifiersuseaninternalcoolingfantominimizetheinternal temperaturewhenneeded.Thefancanoperateatmultiplespeeds dependingontheenvironmentalconditionsandusageoftheamplifier.
D890andD1290WhentheunitisinAutoor12Vturnonmode,thefan shouldonlybeactivewhentheamplifierisunderheavyuseorrequiresmore ventilation.
D1675Whentheunitisactive,thefanwillrunatalltimes,atalowspeed, rampingupunderheavyusageoriftheunitrequiresmoreventilation.
Forthemostecofriendlyoperation,werecommendalwaysusingthe amplifiersonAutomodewhichwillallowtheamplifierstoenteralow powerstandbymodeusinglessthan½wattofpowerwhennotinuse.

Make sure that the switch is set properly for your audio system. Setting this switch incorrectly will result in improper audio settings including lack of audio in any zone where the improper source is selected.

TheRussoundDSeriesamplifiershavea powerfulfeatureallowingtheiroutputsignaltobe attenuatedspecificallyfortheapplicationofthe loudspeakers.

SETTINGS
Thewiringmethodforbridgedconnectionsisdifferentfromthatofnormal stereopairsofloudspeakers.Whenbridging,only8ohmspeakersmay beused.Atthebottomofeachspeakerconnectorontherearofyour Russoundamplifier,you'llseethealternatewiringconfigurationforabridged connection.Oneconductorofyourloudspeakerwirewillconnecttothe leftmostpositiononthespeakerconnector,andthesecondconductor willconnecttotherightmostpositionasindicated.Pleasemakesureto verifythepolarityofthewiring,matchingtheamplifierconnectiontothe loudspeakerconnection.
Oncetheloudspeakerwiringhasbeenconfigured,setthe"Stereo/Bridged" slideswitchtotherightfor"Bridged"operation.

TherearetwoinputtypesonyourRussoundDSeriesamplifier:

BUSINPUTS
Thebusinputscanbesharedbyanyzoneoftheamplifier.Useoneofthebus inputsifyouwanttoshareanaudiosourceacrossmorethanonezoneofthe amplifier.Forexample,ifyouhaveanaudiostreamersuchastheRussound MBXPRE,connectitsaudiooutputstoBusInputAandyoucanthenhave theaudiostreamer'smusicplayedinanyofthezonesoftheamplifier.With2 BusInputs,yourRussoundamplifiercanhave2differentaudiosourcesthat aresharedamongconfiguredzonesofthesystem.
ZONEINPUTS
TheZoneInputsareNOTsharedtootherzonesofyourRussoundamplifier. Usetheseinputsforazonespecificinput.Forexample,ifcreatingawhole homeaudiosystemwithanaudiostreamerforeveryroominthehome, connecteachaudiostreamersuchastheRussoundMBXPREtoeach ZoneInput.Bydoingthis,apporvoicecontrolofanyaudiosystemiseasily implemented.
UsequalityRCAcablesandmakesureallcablesarefullyattachedand securedtotheRussoundDSeriesamplifier.

SETTINGS
FullRange"Full"Theentireaudiosignalissentunfilteredtotheconnected loudspeakers,from20Hzto20,000Hz.
LowPass"LP"Anadvancedlowpasscustomdesignedfilterisapplied totheaudiopathforthezone.Usethissettingwhenconnectingapassive subwoofertothezone.Bycombiningthissettingwithabridgedzone,a powerfulsubwoofercanbeaddedtoanyzoneortomultiplezonesofthe amplifier.WhenconfiguredforLowPass,thefrequencyoutputislimitedto 20Hzto160Hz.
HighPass"HP"Anadvancedhighpasscustomdesignedfilterisapplied totheaudiopathforthezone.Usethissettingtoavoidsendingexcessive lowfrequencysoundstoaloudspeakerthatisnotdesignedtohandlethem. Bycustomizingtheseaudiofilters,youcancustomtailortheaudioofthe installationtomaximizetheperformanceoftheamplifier,theefficiencyof yourloudspeakers,andmaximizetheaudiocomponentsofthesystemtobest worktogetherfortheirspecificneeds.WhenconfiguredforHighPass,the frequencyoutputislimitedto80Hzto20kHz.
POWERCONNECTION
Oncethesourceandloudspeakerconnectionshavebeenmadeandtheinput setting,stereo/bridgedmodesetting,andoutputfiltersettingsswitcheshave beenset,youcanconnectthepowercabletotherearofamplifier.
FRONTPANELPOWERBUTTON
TheFrontPanelPowerButtonwilltogglebetween"On"and"Standby" modeswhenevertherearpanelturnonswitchissettoAuto.Iftherear panelswitchissetto"ON"or"12V",thefrontpanelswitchwillhavenoeffect becauseitisbeingoverriddenbytherearswitchsetting.
TRIGGERIN/OUT
TheTriggerInputisusedtoturnontheDSeriesamplifier,togglingbetween standbymodewhenno12VsignalispresentandOnmodewhena12Vsignal ispresent.Thisisveryhelpfulforaudiosourcesthathavealowoutputsignal orwherediscrete,dedicatedcontroloftheamplifierstatusisrequired.
TheTriggerOutputisactivatedwhenANYoftheDSeriesamplifier'szonesis activatedandpoweredon.

3.HeedWarningsAllwarningsontheapplianceintheoperatinginstructionsshould beadheredto.
4.FollowInstructionsAlloperatinganduserinstructionsshouldbefollowed. 5.WaterandMoistureTheapplianceshouldnotbeusednearwater;forexample,
nearabathtub,washbowl,kitchensink,laundrytub,inawetbasement,orneara swimmingpool.Theapparatusshallnotbeexposedtodrippingorsplashingliquids andnoobjectsfilledwithliquids,suchasvases,shallbeplacedontheapparatus. SAFETY
7.VentilationTheapplianceshouldbesituatedsothatitslocationorpositiondoes notinterferewithitsproperventilation.Forexample,theapplianceshouldnot besituatedonabed,sofa,rug,orsimilarsurfacethatmayblocktheventilation openings,orplacedinabuiltininstallation,suchasabookcaseorcabinetthat mayimpedetheflowofairthroughtheventilationopenings.Placetheunitina wellventilatedlocation,leavingatleast2inches(5cm)ofclearanceonallsides, topandrearofunitforairflow.Ifventilationisblocked,theunitmayoverheatand malfunction.
8.HeatTheapplianceshouldbesituatedawayfromheatsourcessuchasradiators, heatregisters,stoves,orotherappliances(includingamplifiers)thatproduceheat.
9.GroundingorPolarizationPrecautionshouldbetakensothatthegroundingor polarizationmeansofanapplianceisnotdefeated.
10.PowerCordProtectionPowersupplycordsshouldberoutedsothattheyarenot likelytobewalkedonorpinchedbyitemsplaceduponoragainstthem,paying particularattentiontocordsatplugs,receptacles,andthepointwheretheyexit fromtheappliance.
