ThankyouforpurchasingtheGTODigitalKeypad.Besuretoreadthedirectionscarefullyand completely.Beforepermanentlymountingthekeypad,pleaseprogramthekeypadandtestits range. IMPORTANT:Yourkeypadmayneedtobehardwiredduetothefactthatitmustaccept interferenceaccordingtoFCCregulationslistedbelow.Forexample,applications thatarerelativityclosetocelltowersorairportsmayreceiveintermittentinterferenceand requirehard-wiring. TheGTODigitalKeypadisamultipurposekeypadthatcanworkwithotherapplicationsin additiontoGTOgateopenersandlocks.Asawiredkeypaditcanoperategaragedooropeners andgateopeners,thatrequire24voltsorlessandacceptnormallyopencontacts. Asawirelesskeypaditcanbeusedwithanygateorgaragedooropenerthatreceivesa318 MHzRFsignal.ThekeypadmustbeusedinconjunctionwiththeGTOgaragedoorreceiverkit (part#RB709)onanyothergaragedoor. SAFETYNOTE:Neverinstallthekeypadwhereapersoncanreachthroughthegatetoactivate it,orwhereapersoncantouchthegatewhileactivatingthekeypad.Therecommendedminimumdistancebetweenthegateandkeypadis10ft.

FeaturesoftheKeypad

FCCWARNING:Changesormodificationstothisunitnotexpresslyapprovedbythepartyresponsibleforcompliancecouldvoid theuser'sauthoritytooperatetheequipment. NOTE:ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15ofthe FCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinaresidentialinstallation. Thisequipmentgenerates,usesandcanradiateradiofrequencyenergyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterferencetoradiocommunications. However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinparticularinstallations.Ifthisequipmentdoescauseharmfulinterferencetoradioortelevisionreception,whichcanbedeterminedbyturningtheequipmentoffandon,theuserisencouragedto trytocorrecttheinterferencebyoneormoreofthefollowingmeasures:·Reorientorreplacethereceiverantenna.·Increasethe separationbetweentheequipmentandthereceiver.·Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhich thereceiverisconnected.·Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.

Youmayprogramupto25differentpersonalentrycodes,allowingyoutogivedifferententrycodestodifferentusers.Forexample, youcangiveadeliverypersontheirownentrycode,whichyoucaneasilychangeaftertheyhavemadethedelivery.Thiswillprevent themfrombeingabletoregainaccess,whilestillallowingthosetowhomyougaveotherentrycodesfullaccess.

Afterenteringavalidcode,pressinganykeywhilethegateisopeningwillstopthegate;pressinganykeywhilethegateisstopped andthegatewillreversedirection.Thekeypadwillnotaffecttheauto-closesettingofyourgateopenersystem.

Thekeypadfacewilllightupandbeeperwillbeepatthepressofanykey.Thekeypadmemorywillrecognizeyourentrycodeina stringofupto20digits;ifitfindsthecorrectsequenceitwillactivatethegateopener.Asasecurityfeature,thekeypadwillshutdown for40secondsifitdoesnotfindthecorrectcodesequencewithina20digitstring.Thiswilldiscourageanunauthorizedpersonfrom tryingtouserandomnumberstoaccessyourproperty.

Yourentrycodeswillremainstoredinmemoryevenwhenthebatteriesgodead.Thekeypadwillrememberyourentrycodesaslong asyoudon'tpresstheRESETbutton.

LimitedOneYearWarranty GTO,Inc.gateopeneraccessoriesarewarrantedbythemanufactureragainstdefectsinworkmanshipforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateof purchase,providedrecommendedinstallationprocedureshavebeenfollowed. Inthecaseofproductfailureduetodefectivematerialormanufacturerworkmanshipwithintheone(1)yearwarrantyperiod,theaccessorywillberepairedorreplaced(atthemanufacturer'soption)atnochargetothecustomer,ifreturnedfreightprepaidtoGTO,Inc.,3121HartsfieldRd.,Tallahassee, FL32303.IMPORTANT:Call850/575-4144orfax850/575-8950foraReturnGoodsAuthorization(RGA)numberbeforereturninggoodstofactory. ProductsreceivedatthefactorywithoutanRGAwillnotbeaccepted.Replacementorrepairedpartsarecoveredbythiswarrantyfortheremainderof theone(1)yearwarrantyperiod.GTO,Inc.willpaytheshippingchargesforreturntotheownerofitemsrepaired. Installing Batteries
NOTE:3AAbatteriesarerequiredtopowerthekeypadunlessanexternal powersupplysuchasthegateopenerspowersourceisused.Lowvoltage wirefromtheexternalpowersourcemustbeconnectedtothePOWERIN terminalsonthekeypadcontrolboard,ifbatteriesarenotinstalled. Step1:Removethetwoscrewsfromthebottomofthekeypadandseparatethekeypadfromitshousing. Step2:Install3AAbatteries(notincluded).

Keypad - Inside DIPSwitches:
Matchtheseswitchestoyourremote transmittertoprogramthekeypad. PowerInput: Usedtoconnectpowersupply(8-24Vac/dc) whenusingoutsidepowersource.
Relayoutput: UsedtoconnectKeypadtogateopenerin hard-wiredapplications.
RESETbutton: Pressingthisbuttonfor2secondswill reprogramkeypadtofactorysettings.All codesaredeleted.Defaultmastercodeis1234. BatteryHolder: Use3AAbatteriesifhard-wiredpowersupply isnotused.Ifexternalpowersourceisusedthe 3AAbatterieswillprovideaback-uppower source.

Wireless Installation of the Keypad

NOTE:Forwirelessapplications,thedistancefromthekeypadtotheopener'sreceivershouldnotexceed50ft.Alwaystestthekeypadrangebeforepermanentlymountingit.

Step1:Mountthekeypadcoverusingthescrewsprovided.Setthekeypad DIPswitchestomatchyourentrytransmitter'sDIPswitchsettings.

Wired Installation of the Keypad
NOTE:Ifyoualsoplantopowerthekeypadwiththegateopener'spowersource,runtwopairs ofwiresasdescribedbelow.Onepairtohard-wirethekeypadandtheotherpairtoconnectthe keypadtothegateopener'sbattery.
Step1:Turnthegateopener'spowerswitchOFF.Use16gauge,stranded,directburiallow voltagewire(partno.RB509)toconnectthekeypadtotheopenercontrolboard.Runwire throughPVCpipefromthegroundtokeypadandfromthegroundtotheopenercontrolboard toprotectthewirefromlawnmowersorgrazinganimals.
Determinehowthewirewillenterthekeypad(i.e.fromthebackthroughaholedrilledinthe mountingpostorrunningthewireonthesurfaceofthepost).Removethesmallrectangular knock-outonthebackofthekeypadcoverandpullthewireintothecover.Thenmountthe covertothepostusingthescrewsprovided.

Step2:Tohard-wirethekeypad-stripthewiresback3/16"andattachthewirestotheterminal blockmarkedRELAYOUTPUTonthekeypadcontrolboardasshowntotheright.Connectthe otherendtotheopener'scontrolboardasshowninControlBoardConnectionssectionbelow. TowirethepowersupplytothekeypadattachthewirestotheAC/DCPOWERINterminal onthekeypadcontrolboardasshowntotheright.Connecttheother endtotheopener'sbattery-oneendtothePOSITIVEpoleandthe othertotheNEGATIVEpole. NOTE:Forahard-wiredapplicationthejumperbetweenthe twoterminalsonthekeypadcontrolboardmustbeconnected (ON)asshown.Thiswilldisablethe318MHzRFtransmitter.
Step3:Slidethekeypadintothecover andsecurewiththesmallscrews provided.
