TAP has launched the PRE-DI performance preamplifier, merging superior analog audio quality with next-generation battery-free technology. It is designed for seamless integration into live performances and studio recordings, or for use with any console or amplifier.

The PRE-DI features a four-band equalizer with 4th-order filters, offering precise tonal shaping. Controls include smooth-action Level and Gain adjustments, providing personalized sound settings. The unit is equipped with standard 1/4-inch input and output jacks, along with a Micro-USB connection for charging.

Its portable, minimal-size, all-metal construction ensures durability and ease of transport. The PRE-DI offers complete sound reproduction control, making it an ideal choice for any application requiring preamplification.

Charging

The PRE-DI utilizes a power bank system as its integrated battery. To charge the unit, connect the provided AC power charger to a 120/220 V outlet and then plug the micro-USB connector into the preamplifier's socket. Allow approximately 90 seconds for the charging process to begin.

A blue LED indicator light illuminates during charging and turns off once the power bank is fully charged. The PRE-DI is ready for approximately 12 hours of performance time on a full charge. The system can be charged and discharged an unlimited number of times and is not subject to overcharging, eliminating any risk of explosion.

Important Charging Notes:

  • Always use the charger supplied with your PRE-DI.
  • If you have misplaced or lost the original charger, you can use a standard 5V mobile phone micro-USB charger or connect to a computer's USB port.
  • Ensure the unit is fully charged before connecting it to a console or amplifier.
  • TIP: Do not unplug the charger until the LED indicator has fully turned off.

Maintenance

Before using the PRE-DI, please read these instructions carefully. Do not attempt to modify or repair the unit yourself; refer all servicing to authorized service personnel.

Before connecting the PRE-DI to any other audio equipment, ensure that the power to all connected devices is turned off.

To clean the unit, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

The PRE-DI unit is a compact, robust device housed in an all-metal casing.

  • Front Panel: Features a 1/4-inch 'IN' jack, a 'LEVEL' control knob, a 'PRE' button, and a 1/4-inch 'OUT' jack.
  • Equalizer Section: Located below the main controls, this section includes four rotary knobs for precise tone adjustment, labeled 'Bass', 'L-Midd', 'H-Midd', and 'High'.
  • Additional Controls: To the right of the EQ section are two more rotary knobs: 'Gain' and 'Volume'. A 'Balance' control knob is also present.
  • Connections: A Micro-USB port is available for charging the internal power bank.
