Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps for basic operation:

  1. Fit Batteries: Insert AAA batteries into the remote control, observing correct polarity ([+] and [-] symbols).
  2. Select Mode: Press the MODE button to cycle through AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, and FAN modes.
  3. Select Temperature: Use the TEMP [▲] and TEMP [▼] buttons to set the desired temperature.
  4. Select Fan Speed: Press the FAN SPEED button to choose AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH fan speed.
  5. Point Remote: Aim the remote control towards the air conditioning unit.
  6. Power On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button to start or stop the unit.

Note: If you are unsure about a function, refer to the "How to Use Basic Functions" and "How to Use Advanced Functions" sections.

Special Note: Button designs may vary slightly. If a function is not available on your unit, pressing its button on the remote will have no effect. In case of discrepancies between this manual and the "OPERATION & INSTALLATION MANUAL", the latter shall prevail.

Handling the Remote Controller

Inserting and Replacing Batteries

Your air conditioning unit comes with batteries. Insert them before use.

  1. Slide the back cover downwards to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Insert batteries, matching the [+] and [-] ends with the symbols inside the compartment.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Battery Notes

  • For optimal performance, do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types.
  • If the remote control will not be used for more than 2 months, remove the batteries.

Battery Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal.

Tips for Using Remote Control

  • The remote control must be used within 8 meters of the unit.
  • The unit will beep when a remote signal is received.
  • Curtains, other materials, and direct sunlight can interfere with the infrared signal receiver.
  • Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for more than 2 months.

Cautions for Using Remote Control

This device complies with local national regulations.

  • In Canada, it complies with CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B).
  • In the USA, this device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits per FCC Rules, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used per instructions, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. If interference occurs, users are encouraged to try correcting it by:

  • Reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna.
  • Increasing separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connecting the equipment to a different circuit than the receiver.
  • Consulting the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician.

Unauthorized changes or modifications could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Buttons and Functions

Familiarize yourself with the remote control. For operating instructions, refer to "How to Use Basic Functions".

  • TEMP [▼]: Decreases temperature by 1°C (1°F). Minimum temperature: 16°C (60°F).
  • ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.
  • MODE: Cycles through operation modes: AUTO → COOL → DRY → HEAT → FAN. Note: HEAT mode is not available for cooling-only units.
  • SWING: Starts/stops horizontal louver movement. Hold for 2 seconds for vertical louver auto swing (model dependent).
  • SLEEP: Automatically adjusts temperature for sleep comfort.
  • DIRECT: Sets airflow direction.
  • ECO: Activates energy-efficient mode.
  • CLEAN: Starts/stops Self Clean or Active Clean function (model dependent). Refer to OPERATION & INSTALLATION MANUAL.
  • TEMP [▲]: Increases temperature by 1°C (1°F). Maximum temperature: 30°C (86°F). Note: Pressing TEMP [▲] and TEMP [▼] simultaneously for 3 seconds toggles between °C and °F display.
  • FAN SPEED: Selects fan speed: AUTO → LOW → MED → HIGH.
  • TIMER ON: Sets timer to turn the unit ON.
  • TIMER OFF: Sets timer to turn the unit OFF.
  • TURBO: Enables the unit to reach the preset temperature quickly.
  • LED DISPLAY: Turns the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on/off (model dependent) for a comfortable environment.
  • LOCK: Press DIRECT and TIMER OFF buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to lock/unlock the keyboard.

Remote Screen Indicators

Information displayed when the remote controller is powered on:

Mode Display

  • AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN: Indicate the selected operating mode.

Other Indicators

  • [Signal Icon]: Displayed when data is transmitted.
  • [Power Icon]: Displayed when the remote controller is ON.
  • [Timer ON Icon]: Displayed when TIMER ON is set.
  • [Timer OFF Icon]: Displayed when TIMER OFF is set.
  • [Temperature/Time Display]: Shows set temperature, room temperature, or time under TIMER setting.
  • [ECO Icon]: Displayed when ECO feature is activated.
  • [Lock Icon]: Indicates all current settings are locked.
  • [Follow Me Icon]: Displayed when Follow Me feature is activated (some units).
  • [Sleep Icon]: Displayed when SLEEP feature is activated.
  • [Fresh Icon]: Displayed when FRESH feature is activated (some units).
  • [Turbo Icon]: Displayed when TURBO feature is activated.
  • [Horizontal Louver Swing Icon]: Indicates horizontal louver auto swing.
  • [Vertical Louver Swing Icon]: Indicates vertical louver auto swing (some units).

Fan Speed Indication

  • HIGH: High speed.
  • MED: Medium speed.
  • LOW: Low speed.
  • NO display: Auto fan speed.

Note: Indicators shown are for presentation; actual operation may display relative function signs only.

How to Use Basic Functions

Basic Operation

Attention: Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available before operation.

Setting Temperature

The operating temperature range is 16-30°C (60-86°F) or 20-28°C (68-82°F). Adjust temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments.

AUTO Mode

The unit automatically selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT (if applicable) based on the set temperature.

  1. Press MODE to select AUTO.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP [▲] or TEMP [▼].
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: FAN SPEED cannot be set in AUTO mode.

COOL Mode

  1. Press MODE to select COOL.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP [▲] or TEMP [▼].
  3. Press FAN SPEED to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

DRY Mode (Dehumidifying)

  1. Press MODE to select DRY.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP [▲] or TEMP [▼].
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: FAN SPEED cannot be changed in DRY mode.

FAN Mode

  1. Press MODE to select FAN.
  2. Press FAN SPEED to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: Temperature cannot be set in FAN mode; the remote's LCD will not display temperature.

Setting the TIMER

Set the time for the unit to automatically turn on or off.

TIMER ON Setting

  1. Press TIMER ON button.
  2. Use TEMP [▲] or TEMP [▼] buttons multiple times to set the desired ON time.
  3. Point the remote at the unit and wait 1 second for activation.

TIMER OFF Setting

  1. Press TIMER OFF button.
  2. Use TEMP [▲] or TEMP [▼] buttons multiple times to set the desired OFF time.
  3. Point the remote at the unit and wait 1 second for activation.

Note:

  1. Setting increments: 30 minutes up to 10 hours, then 1 hour up to 24 hours. The timer resets to 0.0 after 24 hours.
  2. Cancel a timer function by setting it to 0.0h.

TIMER ON & OFF Setting (Example)

Time periods set refer to hours after the current time.

Example: If current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer to turn ON after 2.5 hours (3:30 PM) and OFF after 5 hours (6:00 PM) would involve the steps described above.

How to Use Advanced Functions

Swing Function

  • Press the SWING button to make the horizontal louver swing up and down. Press again to stop.
  • Press and hold the SWING button for more than 2 seconds to activate vertical louver swing (model dependent).

Airflow Direction

  • Press the DIRECT button. Each press adjusts the louver by 6°. Continue pressing until the desired direction is reached.

LED DISPLAY

  • Press the LED DISPLAY button to turn the indoor unit's display and buzzer on/off.
  • Press and hold the LED DISPLAY button for more than 5 seconds (some units) to display the actual room temperature. Press and hold again for more than 5 seconds to revert to the set temperature display.

ECO Function

Press the ECO button under COOL Mode to enter energy-efficient mode.

Note: This function is only available in COOL mode.

Under cooling mode: If set temperature is less than 24°C/75°F, the unit automatically adjusts to 24°C/75°F with Auto fan speed for energy saving. If set temperature is above 24°C/75°F, fan speed changes to Auto, and set temperature remains unchanged.

Note: Pressing ECO, changing mode, or setting temperature below 24°C/75°F will stop ECO operation. For ECO operation, the set temperature should be 24°C/75°F or above; lower temperatures may result in insufficient cooling. Press ECO again to stop if uncomfortable.

SLEEP Function

The SLEEP function automatically adjusts temperature for sleep comfort. It can only be activated via remote control. It is not available in FAN or DRY mode. Refer to the OPERATION & INSTALLATION MANUAL for details.

Silence Function

Press and hold the FAN SPEED button for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable Silence function (some units).

Note: Due to low frequency compressor operation, cooling capacity may be insufficient. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Sleep, Turbo, or Clean buttons will cancel the silence function.
