About the RMU S40
The NIBE RMU S40 is a room unit designed to control and monitor NIBE heat pumps, indoor modules, or control modules from a different room within a property. It offers advanced climate control capabilities, allowing users to manage temperature and other settings remotely.
Key Features and Installation
- Installation: The RMU S40 can be mounted directly on a wall or using the provided backplate, which allows for installation in a standard appliance box. Proper placement is crucial for accurate temperature sensing.
- Electrical Connection: All electrical connections must be performed by a qualified electrician, adhering to national regulations. The main product must be de-energized during installation. The unit can be powered via a USB power adapter (5V) connected to the Micro-USB port.
- Connectivity: The RMU S40 supports both wired and wireless connections to the main NIBE product. For wired connections, specific terminal blocks are used, and for wireless connections, a guided setup process is followed via the main product's menu.
- Functionality: The room unit can display current room temperature, allow temperature adjustments, refine/stabilize room temperature, and display/control humidity levels.
System Integration
The RMU S40 is compatible with NIBE S series main products. It plays a role in managing climate systems and zones, allowing for individual temperature control in different areas of a building. In cases of weak communication, a repeater (RPP 10) may be necessary.
Operation and Navigation
The RMU S40 features a touchscreen interface for intuitive navigation. Users can select options by tapping the screen, scroll through menus by swiping, and adjust settings using a virtual dial. The status light indicates the operational status, with a red light signifying an alarm.
